Saying it's the "official tabletop version" is the closest this commercial comes to honest advertising. Why not show the game screens? Despite their lameness, these games were lots of fun to play as a kid.
Before the NES, Nintendo tried a line of these tabletop arcade games as well. I have seen DK Junior, and Popeye. Both were color LCD (not LED) and had a window at the top to let light in to see. They were quite fun and the batteries lasted considerably longer than the Coleco ones.
Awesome Commercial! I actually loved these games, and I found this cool website that has almost every electronic handheld game for sale. It's great if you want the original classics.
This was such false advertising. Those LED games were crap. I remember as a kid I thought they were going to look and play like the real arcade games, until I saw one in action.
hehe ya know what? you could do that nowadays, if you take a PS2 and rework it into the shell of one of those and actually have a REAL-DEAL miniature arcade game with mame and all now...
Sweet....thanx for post
