Yeah nitrous would make that way easier, it'd be hard to get 25mpg on a turbo or sc setup with a v8...sure it's possible though if the right people build the car. ZR1 on slicks with more boost and nitrous could yield some high 8s or low 9s I'm sure.

That 2jz needed 40+ psi and a 300 shot to make 1700 hp. a 500 cubic inch v8 can make the same power on 25 psi. top fuel drag cars have 500 cubic inches 60 psi boost and 8000 hp. try that with a 3.0 engine. i guess a 2jz with 6 turbos and a 1000 shot might be able to hang..

If you took an 03 cobra engine built it and poured 40 psi and a 300 shot in it, it would make more power than a 3L ENGINE. 32 valves highflow heads. There isnt any magic horsepower dust in the 2jz engine. It was high good engine with turbos and always will be. But nobody is going to waste theretime throwing 40 psi and a 300 shot on a tiny engine when it can be done easier with more displacement.

You can run low nines on 8-850 whp. at 1700 whp it would be basically a pro mod car running 6's or low 7's. So just building an engine to make a dyno number isnt anything special.
@BIHxJDMxSUPRA ive been reading up on this supra and it has been bored and stroked to close to 3.4 liters. It has ported heads 300 degree duration cams(NOT STREETABLE AT ALL), custom +3mm oversized valves. Now take an 03 cobra 4.6, engine port the heads, put better cams in it and billet rotating assembly like this 2jz has and run the same twin 67mm BB turbos. Just pick a boost level. We'll say 30 psi. The 4.6 will outpower the smaller 2jz.. wont be alot but it will make more

You can try to prove anything you want. the engine is impressive but its not a magical 3.0 that makes magical power. Its taking 100 psi to make that power. Dans car makes the same power at 60 less psi. But his car, because of cubic inches and a roots blower, makes WAY more torque. Torque is what accelerates the car. horsepower is what carries it to top speed.

But you notice to hit the power they did they bored and stoked it for more displacement. Even they know that more displacement = more power. This nowhere near a street car. Just because a car can be physically driven on the street doesnt make it a sreet car.

@TRUEGATOR1 Texas Motorplex down in Ennis, maybe you heard of it? Easily one of the fastest tracks in the US. Like I was saying, you seen a whole 6 at the track huh? Considering the hundreds of cars a night that frequent even the most backwoods tracks that puts the numbers well in the top 10% of cars at the track.
Then consider all the cars on the road, even the most exotic and/or brutal of factory cars cut 11s at best, and the gap between 11s and 9s is huge.

Yeah nitrous would make that way easier, it'd be hard to get 25mpg on a turbo or sc setup with a v8...sure it's possible though if the right people build the car. ZR1 on slicks with more boost and nitrous could yield some high 8s or low 9s I'm sure.

That 2jz needed 40+ psi and a 300 shot to make 1700 hp. a 500 cubic inch v8 can make the same power on 25 psi. top fuel drag cars have 500 cubic inches 60 psi boost and 8000 hp. try that with a 3.0 engine. i guess a 2jz with 6 turbos and a 1000 shot might be able to hang..

If you took an 03 cobra engine built it and poured 40 psi and a 300 shot in it, it would make more power than a 3L ENGINE. 32 valves highflow heads. There isnt any magic horsepower dust in the 2jz engine. It was high good engine with turbos and always will be. But nobody is going to waste theretime throwing 40 psi and a 300 shot on a tiny engine when it can be done easier with more displacement.

But an equally set up terminator engine will produce more power at less boost. No one does it because there isnt any point. You can run low nines on 8-850 whp. at 1700 whp it would be basically a pro mod car running 6's or low 7's. So just building an engine to make a dyno number isnt anything special.

It has ported heads 300 degree duration cams(NOT STREETABLE AT ALL), custom +3mm oversized valves. Now take an 03 cobra 4.6, engine port the heads, put better cams in it and billet rotating assembly like this 2jz has and run the same twin 67mm BB turbos. Just pick a boost level. We'll say 30 psi. The 4.6 will outpower the smaller 2jz.. wont be alot but it will make more

You can try to prove anything you want. the engine is impressive but its not a magical 3.0 that makes magical power. Its taking 100 psi to make that power. Dans car makes the same power at 60 less psi. But his car, because of cubic inches and a roots blower, makes WAY more torque. Torque is what accelerates the car. horsepower is what carries it to top speed.

The 4.6 modular engines have blocks just as strong and the 4v's heads have just as much flow potential if not more. There are 03 cobra engines well over 1000 whp with the stock engine. I dont know what track you run at but it's not uncommon on any given night when its test n tune to see 9 sec cars. Considering the hundreds of cars a night that frequent even the most backwoods tracks that puts the numbers well in the top 10% of cars at the track.
Then consider all the cars on the road, even the most exotic and/or brutal of factory cars cut 11s at best, and the gap between 11s and 9s is huge.

@blkendgsx. The reason people say honduhs are shit because they have cars that are faster than the honduhs they beat, plane and simple. Half of the people I know that upgraded to faster, better looking RWD and AWD cars used to own fwd honduhs, and they are speaking from their own experiences. Some still have both just to prove it. For everyone that thinks Hondas are shit ...go fuck yourself. I just got into an arguement with a suby owner over which is faster, so I sent him a picture of my time slip 10.42-1/4, and this is after he tells me his best time is 11.20-1/4(I laughed). He tried being cool, but then like I said go fuck yourself if you think Hondas are shit. Alot of people just have no clue. I'm not sayin' subarus are slow either. For a faster Honda though, look up Chris miller, his hatch is in the 8's.
