plz help me.. I have a lovebird. I Buy it 4 months ago... And he still afraid me.. When i take him out of cage he allways gets back inside... and still afraid me.. plz help me and give me some wise tips... It is fisher lovebird very cute..
@Blogination Patience is the key... spend time each day talking to your bird through the cage. Even just opening the cage and setting your hand in for several minutes will allow him to get used to you. That's what I did with mine, then I started feeding him through the bars of the cage, and eventually he just wanted to come out. Still took a little while after to get him to "step up" but it worked!
My white-bellied caique, Dolly, takes showers with me. I hold her on my left arm, back into the shower, and use my right hand to direct the water down her back and on her tummy. She loves the tummy spray! This all causes lots of whistling, chirping, chuckling, and talking. She loves it.
So is my lovebird babies scared of me or are they going through a phase, I had asked you this question already but you never answered... you asked me who feed the unweened babies and I told you the parents... so why are they biting me? are they terrified? they try and hide in my shirt...
my lovebird loves baths, before i got, she was owned by a friend who had her in her cage for 2 years, never taken out of the cage, never had much of a bath. Now that she has been in my care for 9 months she just gose crazy druing bath time, she even tries to get in the shower, when i am showering.

Lol, my bird likes cold water too, would rather bathe in a glass of ice water than a bowl of luke warm water... weiros lol :)

i'm always so relieved when my budgie takes a bath X'D he get's awfully stinky in no time flat o3o
...plus it's always hilarious watching him jump in and out of his wee green bath tub XD
