I saw this tour at the Rutgers University Auditorium when I was 17! And I still remember, he did the same intro speech for this song as he does here in this video. We brought handfuls of confetti with red poppies drawn on them, to fling onstage.
I have the video of this gig and it was excellent :) I met Mike peters in 1989 and he was the lovelyest person you could meet. So humble and kind. It riles me that The Alarm dint make it huge n U2 did cuz U2 were and are shite where The Alarm completely out classed them in every way. Plus Iv always had a lil crush on Mike ;)
Fuck the Stereophonics and the Manic Street Preachers, The Alarm are the best welsh band of all time...........OK, I'm waiting for the feedback, But it won't change my mind so don't bore me.
@drum1707 you won't get any negative comment from me pal, your statement is 101% correct. How these blokes never cracked the big time in the way they should of done still bewilders me. I have seen them many times, even the new line up. The one thing they never had though was good production on their studio work. They were a better band than U2 but the single Pride (in the name of love) was produced in the studio better than any Alarm single so commercially they suffered.
Best group I ever saw live! First saw them at Milton Keynes Bowl supporting Simple Minds. Then when the toured London doing small venues I went 3 nights in a row! For me they topped simple minds and U2! Mike peters is great
Wow. I was at this show, I think April 12, 1986 at UCLA. Great show. I have it on video. it was broadcast by MTV. Little Martha Quinn was the MC. This was my alltime favorite band. Their music transcends popularity or top 40 crap. This is SOUL and spirit.
your son has good taste.the alarm are mike, dave ,eddie & twist the best lineup,my wish to see then back on stage, seen dave and mike on stage at the big country gig at manchester 27 may 200,they were just as good has the old days, rip stuart adamson, pee 83 and on
I've gotten my 11 yr. old son into The Alarm, now my wish is to take him to see Mike, Dave, Eddie and Twist. You are correct, this is the only lineup that matters.
The SHIT!! I saw it on TV in 86'!!!!!!!!!

That's the only line-up that counts, if we could only go back to 86
