  • The attack by the allied on the 6th june morning, has been a surprise for german army due to lack knowledge of exact date and the place (Normandy). Now I ask myself, how was possible that german film operators were ready in Normandy before landing allied? Any way this newsreel show the courage of german film operators to work close to the soldiers in the first line of the war. I thank who can help me to answer my question

  • @piero27761: the short answer is: they were not ready in Normandy, this is stock film footage spliced together for the desired propaganda effect.

  • @NickB1967 Like the film they had ready for SeaLion complete with wounded heroes .

  • @piero27761 Special Film units attached to Front line units played a major part in German propaganda. This accounts for thousands of excellent clips here. The films were shot and speech added later. Some excellent films now kept for posterity. Since WW1 Film units are banned in British units, even still cameras are forbiden. The attack by Paras on Ghoose Green was music to watch, but now lost forever! I have seen units being physcally searched for cameras after an action.

  • super to see !
