People don't invent math, they discover it.
Over past years, the scientific contributions of women were disregarded because of cultural bias. Today, almost any remarkable contribution is so advanced that it cannot be understood by a layperson. Hence, not very many people know of the scientific contributions made by women. Now, if you look at art, literature, music, etc. the achievements of women is much more noticeable.

Men do those things to try and impress women when women don't have the need to try and impress men in the same way, so for the vast majority of women throughout history there has never been the drive to invent, discover or conquer.

When the fur trade began, it was mainly men. You know, barter with the locals. Traded with the indians goods and whatnot for pelts. Beaver pelts were especially popular for mens hats in England. Demand for fur has gone down, but in most the countries where the fur comes from there is still a vastly large male dominant society. Men kill the animals, skin em and sell em. Women have their hand in it too tho.

There are very, very few differences between the female and male brains, and these differences really only come in context with development. For example, it has been shown that boys do better with spatial things while girls develop language skills more readily. Throughout history, young men were placed into apprenticeships to various craftsmen and spent their early lives learning a craft or trade. Women were never given such opportunities and most were discouraged from such things. So if any woman showed talent for painting or sculpting, her talents were never fully realized. So those who managed to make a named for themselves in such a climate of hostility are easily worth ten or more of the common boys sent away to learn to finger paint.
