Try to have a reasonable, rational discussion with the average j-citizen about the misgivings about japanese society and you will get a faceful of childish disdain, personal attacks, even be called a "racitst" (one of their favorite tactics to force an end to the discussion). Divert the subject to another country. It is a sad fact, but it happens ALL the time.
