  • i got one of these all original, bought it in '81 anyways i love you tenacity brother, never ever throw away a guitar no matter what the condition, kudos to you my man, live long and prosper!

  • I got a lead I, and i modified a music master with tele pick ups

  • No they are two Fender tele type single coils-They have a bit too much of a treble sound for me. The guitar was last seen happily twanging in a honky-tonk iin Louisville, KY.

  • do i see a humbucker and a b-52 on mr cooley s lead II

  • How much do these usually go for?

  • I own 8 of these ...great guitars ...you almost have to change pickups ...the stock pups were designed by Seymour Duncan for heavy rock ....they dont really sound that great clean or slightly overdriven ....and they were bad to whistle ....I have one that is standard a Lead I which out of all of them I have owned doesnt whistle or feedback ....same scale as a strat ....lot of folks think they are not ...put a ruler to it and you will see they are 25.5 !!! Great JOB !!! You sound like me !!!

  • @gregorylee888

Hmm, I think the pups in mine sound great. I have none of the problems you describe.

  • Great video. I have a lead III but fortunately mine was primo when I got it, still is.

  • I love you amigo!

  • i have a lead ii i love it :D

  • I love your accent man, where are you located from lol? anyways, i always wished i had a rare guitar

  • @Ibik Hello Ibik, The accent is a slightly exagerated Kentucky accent for this character. My real accent varies depending on who I'm around. I'm from Kentucky and live here now, but spend most of my life further South: Louisiana, Texas, Fiji, Guam.....As for rare guitars, you can find them at yardsales. The lead II cost me $25 with case. I added the missing PU's, bridge and tailpiece. You've got to be a wise shopper.

  • Funny story... That is my guitar... "LOL" This is so amazing that I would look on youtube and find that old fender lead II that was stolen in Sanford Florida from my car back in 2006... By the way it was playable when I had it... I guess some one took all the parts off of it... That "hole" for a bridge is for a "Kahler Flyer" that was on the guitar... But any way... I'm glad to see some one who loves guitars saved it... I would have never gotten around to fixing it up... hope you like the guitar

  • @judaspriest1984 Oh yea! almost forgot... This would be the second "Fender Lead" guitar I had stolen... I had a black Fender Lead 1 stolen from me back in 2002... But that one was in mint shape... I guess I have bad luck with those guitars LOL...

  • whats the guitar in the back in the beginning?

  • @captainwerewolf It is the "Pizza Guitar" and is probably a Truetone or something similar. Here's a link to an article about that particular guitar. It was one of the first documented GuitarRescue's.

  • Not only does Colonel Sanders know about chicken, He can sure play some good licks

  • @cutiepie2468123 I think that's Burl Ives taking a break from taping "Frosty the Snowman!""

  • the brilliant X-1 FENDER SINGLE COIL PICK UPS were available in the fender strats and the fender lead II guitars from 1977 to 1983. the X-1's were discontinued

in 1983 thats when the digital guitar effects era was begining.

  • Thanks for the info. This one came with no pickups, no tailpiece, and a pick guard that looked honestly like it had been cut with a steak knife to accommodate a humbucker in the middle. Can't find the original video of the first day. Still it sounds great if you like to twang it.

  • your so welcome. also remember the fender lead series guitars only ran from 1979 to 1982. good luck with yours it sounds fantastic!

  • the fender lead II Guitar is one of the all time best sounding/feel fender guitar ever crafted! the two X-1 pickups that came with the 1980 fender lead II WERE THE NEXT GENERATION OF THE ORIGINAL 1969 PICK UPS. the differnce between the X-1 and the orignal 1969's are the X-1's are wound a few more times to give that harder punch during leads. the fender lead II is a vintage classic and if you have one NEVER SELL IT OR CHANGE THE PICK UPS!

  • I would be proud to own that Bear of a guitar ! It sounds great, glad you didn't just throw it away ! Thanks...Cheers...
