  • Censoring posts by flagging as spam, typical of radicals. Well I'll restate richardsbrandonuca's post in different terms.

The White Ribbon Campaign spreads lies about men and highlights violence against women inferring women don't indulge in it. Campaign against ALL DV including that by women against spouses and children and they will have all my support as well and I am sure the support of many others. But they won't, why?

  • Where is the ribbon for male DV victims or child victims for that matter. Having a campaign for one set of victims who are themselves often perpetrators smacks of elitism and smokescreening.

  • well really the people who strated white ribbon day werent women they were men it started in 1991 with only a handful of men on the second aniversary of one mans masscre of 14 women in montreal its is the first mass campaign by men against violence in the world.

these men realised that violence against women is a mens problem and the decided to do something about it.

  • Does this mean that violent men (or women) will cease to be so due to a ribbon campaign? Also, since DV perps are often child abusers and stats show that child abusers are predominately female doesn't this and stats showing f on m DV is equally prevalent, imply that we need female feminists to start a ribbon campaign directed at women! I wont hold my breath!

  • yes more child abuser are women but we arnt just talking about children the campaign is to try and get men to see what they are doing to see that they are hurting someone and this campaign is also about women knowing there not alone if they can get most people in australia to wear a white ribbon then well doesnt that prove they are doing something because for someone like me i know what its like to feel like the worlld is against you and that nobody care about you

  • "if they can get most people in australia to wear a white ribbon" If they can do this they will provide a smokescreen for female DV perps while ignoring children and the elderly who are also on the receiving end. These women are healthy adults more than capable of walking away or using the feminist state with its army of police, social workers etc. All on her side.

  • yes but im assuming you dont know what its like to be hurt or assulted its hard to walk away from someone that abuses you i didnt report my abuser a friend did he sore i had bruises on my shoulders when we went swimming and he helped me get throught it

  • Good heavens your only 15! (I've just looked). Yet you talk like a married woman! Just walk away or get your Dad to have a word with him! Bullying happens to lots of people m+f. Learn to recognise the kind and don't associate with them. End of problem.

  • no not end of problem and thats agism i know im not married nd i cant talk to my dad because he is dead and itrs not just bullying that was happening to me i was being sexually assulted

  • Penelabelle you are absolutly corect and men have to know that stoping violenc is not just a police thing but men have to stand up and say this is wrong, you are a coward if you do this.

  • More one-eyed, lopsided, exclusive hate-speech against men.

What a shock eh? So much for equallity. No, really. I think it's an incredible achievement women have made today, to similtaneously be equal, while still occupying a pedastal. Bravo.

  • i absolutely loved this ad when i first saw it, because it gave a very fresh perspective to a very serious problem. what impressed me were the very, VERY subtle hints (some perhaps unaware to both men and women) of what can constitute abuse/harrassment. brilliantly shot and produced, well acted and a must-watch for everyone.
