Maybe the Baron put Igor's brain into his latest edition creation? Remember, the doctor's experiments had been going on for aprox 150 years by this point!
Igor must do this a lot. The store clerk didn't even break a sweat when he crashed through the glass. Loved the bit where he does a little leap at the end.
@glowworm2 yes, but wasn't Igor the hunchback assistant. That looked like the monster that Frankenstein built? I guess they needed the monster itself to smash through the supermarket.
This, if you ask me, is the most brilliant Halloween-themed commercial ever. (And I just recently reintroduced myself to this product. Very good stuff!)
@DevSodDribble Oh, yeah. That's how we got the Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry cereals. But this one did tend to pop up every Halloween for a while (if I recall correctly... which I might not).
@bobgreenwade Oh ok. I was wearing a shirt with Frankenstein once, around Easter, and someone actually said to me 'Wrong holiday, buddy.' I'm not quite old enough to remember this particular ad, though, so you're probably right.
Fiedler's reaction when the Monster crashes in through the store door is priceless. Cool as a moose! This is what happens when an advertiser goes to the trouble of getting the very best for a commercial.
except for the pops in the sound, you'd never guess this was 37 years old, the video has been preserved quite nicely compared to many other commercials from the era which are totally grainy
The actor playing "Ygor" (weird - that was the hunchbacked assistant's name in the movies) does a darn good impression of Boris Karloff's body language.
You are right. Whenever I see him I automatically think David Sheiner. LOL. Don't ask why but probably because they both appeared in The Odd Couple. Thanks for the correction. Will make the change on the video info.
1971 ? The year I was born ?! Great ad for that time, nice & very well made !

Notice how the monster crashes in through the "out" door and out through the "in" door? There's a lot of great touches in this commercial.

@bobgreenwade It isn't really Halloween, though. Remember when monsters were popular year-round??
