  • Very true when I went healthy I ate lots of fruits and barely any vegtables and barely any meat. I ended up with that additude of not careing that i needed to eat.

  • I would love to try the raw food diet; however, everything breaks me out. I can not eat nuts and seeds don't digest for me. I tried avacado, boom, break out happens. I tried juicing and it gives me a stomach ache and bloating. So, with this happening I have no other choice but to stay on cooked foods, and of course I stay so so hungry when I juice!!!!

  • @glamhaze look up 80-10-10 by doug graham. no oily stuff. better for ya :-)

  • @RawHealingPatch Have you heard of the GAP's diet? It stands for gut and psychology syndrome and is supposed to heal your digestive tract so you can more easily digest without bloating and breaking out and stuff. Look it up, its pretty interesting.

  • @glamhaze First of all, you have to give your body a chance to detox! It's very possible that consuming raw foods is stirring up the waste. Start small and build up fiber content.

  • but isnt a lil detox ok?? thanks :)

  • @AngeliquesLOVE yes of course :-)

  • Can you help me introduced some raw carbs into my diet? I didn't do well on totally raw and lost sooooo much weight. I introduced cooked food back with whole grain rice, potatoes, quinoa, millet. I feel more energized and my weight is healthy once again. If I go totally raw again, what can I eat for my complex carbs I would normally get from cooked grains? Do I soak, sprout and eat them that way? Is that safe? I hear many grains and legumes are not fully safed until soaked, sprouted and cooked.

  • @DiaShanti eat masses of fruit. that is the only way to get sufficient carbs on raw food. if you dont want to eat fruit, keep eating the grains. they will not hurt you. healthy carbs are good :-)

  • @RawHealingPatch I tried the mass fruit thing for gaining weight and it was just way too "cleansing". So your advice for eating the grains is good. I do soak and sprout them first. Do you eat grains raw at all?

  • @DiaShanti i eat no raw grains except buckwheat sometimes in cereal. some people do. test your body and find out.

  • our cock book ???? um i know she meant cook

  • @EdgarVonHelsing Hey, if they are selling a "cock book" I'll spring for that. *pardon the pun* I got enough cook books. Seriously tho, there is some mighty good info in her videos. Very helpful.

  • @DiaShanti haha.. :-) thanks...

  • you are sooo cute!

  • great vid

  • This video makes me feel better. At least it explains why as I transition into raw Veganism from regular Veganism I have been feeling more on edge and had a lack of appetite. I have also noticed now when I do eat something that is cooked or non organic I feel extremely ill.

  • TASTE AVERSION! TASTE AVERSION! You Guys/Gals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I 'd Barf just tasting wheatgrass NOW I LOVE IT!!! It Taste sooooooooo SWEET....I'm NOT KIDDING...COLD WHEATGRASS JUICE --YUMMY!! Give Raw Live Foods a chance and find a community of friends who are excited and optimistic. ENERGY Friggin' AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for the reply, but your body is constantly cleansing itself and eating raw food does not cleanse it any faster than cooked food. Granted eating chemicals is not good for your body but a well balanced diet is. Cooking of foods releases and allows more nutrients in some cases than raw. So again we are looking at balance and moderation and should not promote extremism.

  • Great that you have found something to be excited about. One does not "excrete" medications that we have taken in our life in our "cells" just by changing what one eats. Your body is a wonderful self-cleaning system.

  • @carnrick there are MANY medications that are fat soluable that store up in fat cells, glands, etc. as a person eats fruit like citrus, or fat-dissolving foods that help us release built up fat deposits, we will def get rid of stored toxins. but yes, the body on a day to day basis will certainly cleanse out the basics. when we do not keep the body healthy, however, it surely stores many unwanted materials.

  • I don't think this is quite the right place to ask this, but it DOES seem like you are the right person! I would love to go raw foods, but I cannot stand eating vegetables (even cooked). I have tried so many things... spices, sauces, anything I could to try and get to like vegetables, but many even make me feel sick. Tomatoes and green peppers turn my stomach immediately and salad cramps my stomach... would you have any suggestions on how to transition? I cannot seem to find any help.

  • @avalonspawn research doug graham;'s "the 80/10/10 diet" and read that. it is predominantly fruit and you can just eat the baby greens that you like, not all the bitter stuff, etc. it;s all about the sweet juicy fruit and then some greens and veggies, but not as much as the fruit. if you need one-on-one help, i can coach you. just see our services on our website :-) thanks!

  • @RawHealingPatch That definitely seems doable! Not only that, but I have seen it mentioned in a few places (including this video) where your taste buds change to enjoy the veggie flavors, so this sounds like the perfect starting point to head in the right direction. I have been doing this for a few days and have not seen much change in how I feel about veggies, it is a bit early yet, but I will follow up later. Thank you very much! <3

  • I have PCOS and CELIAC DISEASE, the most undiagnosed and easily treated disease that causes stomach problems. PROBIOTICS, GLUTEN FREE AND a SIMPLE BLOOD TEST CAN TELL YOU demand the blood test. Other symptoms under or over weight, various gastric complaints, IBS, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating. Anemia, Crohns, PCOS, gastric ulcers, parasitic infection skin disorders, nerves, numbness in arms and legs: all COULD BE CELIAC! RAW MAY HELP BUT IF YOU are going raw because of prob

  • Thank you I will add it to my wish list for future purchase.

  • @musespirit sounds good.. thanks! :-)

  • Oh, that's helpful for those of us who like raw food and yet can't imagine, yet, not eating cooked food.

    I look forward to your book~ Thanks~

  • @musespirit the book is available now on our website or amazon :-)

  • Just a suggestion. How about calling it a recipes book. How do you call a raw food recipe book a "cook book"?!

  • @musespirit haha... yeah, that would work. we do have cooked recipes in here as well..

  • Well, when I started raw back in October, it was hard getting my caloric intake up. I would eat about 700-1000 cals per day. I realized I could eat more fruit, and meat, and that would supplement the caloric intake, so now, I am up to almost 2000 cals a day. It was hard getting used to taste. I'd say my favorite food is actually a drink. My lemonade I make is REALLY good!

  • @TheCandyArcade sounds like you are doin great so far! yeah, get those calories in from sweet juicy fruit!

  • Thanks a lot for this. I just started my raw food diet yesterday, and I wasn't too sure how it could go in the first few weeks or so. :)

  • @xoxHUGSetKISSESxox good luck! stay carbed up on fruit and this usually helps people not slip back into the cooked food as much :)

  • My biggest issue in my transition has been gas - it discusting and embarassing - not to mention painful - Any suggestions?

  • @music4rituals this is common. it could be detox, or perhaps bad food combining issues or even too much fat from nuts, oils, and seeds which make up the bulk of the raw food diet. i recommend eating meals of just fruit for your main calorie source with some greens here and there and very few nuts and seeds, and when you eat them, do not eat them with fruit. fruit digests quickly and creates back-up if you mix it with slow digesting food. read "the 80-10-10 diet" by doug graham.

  • Today is my day 1. but I added more things to my raw food program. They are fish, cheese, and milk "small amount". Of course the fish will be grilled or steamed. I dont know how long I will handle that.

  • @1967lovely just do the best you can :) good luck!

  • Oh! I really appreciate this video, because that's where I was heading!

  • @c3rain glad it helped!

  • When I started 100% raw by the end of the week I was drained, tired and stomach felt gnawy and irritated. I learned that nuts and fruit don't go together. Ouch, PAIN, I had gas like a gas tank. I did quit feeling joint and back pain though. Lost consistent weight slowly like a pound or two a week. Need to lose more. Got off the diet because I couldn't take the drained fatigue feeling and stomach irritation. Celery helped though. Going to make a go at it again though, maybe not go 100% though.

  • @junkmob yeah, maybe high raw would be better for you. or maybe a low fat raw. less seeds and nuts and higher amounts of fresh fruit. fruit alone is the easiest thing to digest of all food. we were designed for it :) but yes, without the nuts at the same time :) good luck!

  • hello!?if i start with a raw breakfast & lunch and then have a cooked dinner would i get uncomfortable ?and is that considered 75% raw or less?please let me know im new!:)

  • @Lesbiana31 i dont think you should be uncomfortable.... but eveyone is different. you should not worry about percentages. and instead just listen to the body. if your body wants raw food, eat it, regardless of the percentage. go by the level of health you feel and keep researching and keep an open mind... strive for pure health! and see our vids on what to expect when you first go raw from a while back. :) good luck!

  • You guys have such a great attitude. I really like it. Very balanced. I find some raw advocates - a little neurotic about food... some clearly have issues..issues I don't want to have.

I love food, and myself where ever I'm at and want to surround myself with folks that are balanced that way...

  • thanks so much... yes, we are less "stressed and obsessive" than many of the raw food folks out there. we believe true health cannot come from an all or nothing attitude and the assumption that one way is absolute. we just try to listen to our bodies, and ultimately they tell us that we feel best when eatin mostly raw. thanks again! :)

  • ...my body is kinda screaming for carne asada soft corn tacos smothered in sour cream...

but today was 90% raw! yay me! I should say ... I'm not feeling deprived...my energy and clarity are FANTASTIC. It's been a week at 85% raw...so all in all it's awesome...

  • nice work! yeah, those damn carne asada things are ridiculous.. always seem to tempt and sneak up on ya! way to choose life-force!

  • First I got so happy, more attractive, and energetic for the first two weeks. Then hit a cleanse, and got EXTREMELY sad, and had DEEEP mourning for some sad things that happened. I felt so lonely I could barely breath. And almost like dying was better than those emotions. I ate a ton of cooked food to drug myself and then could not move for a week. When beginning raw food again, I started very slowly. I wish I could go all out because it seems like a good idea..

  • slow can be good too...just gotta respect your body and either tough out the wild emotions or just go more slowly. it will all happen...no stress :)

  • God i love you guys : ) , Our body stores memory in every cell, So from day one, if you've been consuming all types of foods that dont naturally carry balanced properties, on top of that eating Till your completely full, Then youll repeat the same thing throughout your life, untill you consciously let this go, and direct your energy into a different avenue. If your unconscious guilt is transitioning with the body,Then nothing is being clensed, its the opposite.Love yourself into harmony!

  • well stated in every way....cell memory is so real. i had to shave my head once just to part from all the negative memory that seemed to be stored in my hair. it just what i HAD to do. and suddenly i was freed from some stuff. very powerful. thanks for the great comments! :) xo

  • I've been on and off for 2 years now, but I am currently on day 4. What has recently helped me is making sure I get enough calories so I'm not so hungry that I start craving processed foods. I've been reading up on the 80 10 10 lately and it inspired me to up the fruit intake. I started eating it in it's whole form for breakfast and then have a large smoothie when I feel hungry again. After I eat enough fruit, my body natural tells me to stop. when I feel hungry again I ask myself what I want

  • great info! this is so true..most of us do not get enough calories when we go raw and then binge on cooked food. thanks so much!

  • my advice: don't jump straight away into raw eating, just reduce amount of cooked food you eat every week

I'm eating at the moment like 80% raw :P

  • this is a great approach for most people... :) keep up the phenomenal work. 80% is nothing to sneeze at ! there are a select few who can do 100%, not everyone....so slow is generally best for people! thanks...i am sure people will read this and appreciate advice, etc..

  • hahaha! "We have to just Mellow out!" i love and am so grateful for this video!

  • thanks! :) glad you dig this one!

  • well after i was done with my fasting with f&f....i felt much more better...then i had a choice to eat cook foods but i just wanted more raw foods just because raw foods would give me so much more energy....and from there i was a change person...=D

  • fantastic! that's great when you reach the point of feeling so good on raw that you dont want the other stuff :)

  • well thank you for the added support and encouragement. it's truly appreciated! this has been quite a journey. and i am just so thrilled to have started a new chapter. i am loving raw. i don't understand why i didn't do this in the first place! lol.

  • to help you with that list of side effects, i do have a few.. i experienced head aches at first. acne breakouts and much oilier hair and skin. but the worst is behind me and i now have a healthy glow and cleared up skin. i trust this was all part of the detox. just a stage. also in the bathroom department, lots of detoxing there! if you know what i mean. emotional roller coaster as well.

  • thanks for the list of side effects, i am sure people will read these and know that what they are going thru is normal... we have had experiences with most of these, and ya just have to keep on truckin! ha! anyway, we are here for support anytime. you are doin great ! :)

  • i now weigh 180. and that was taken care of on my own. i just want to eat better than ever now. and need this detox and know that eventually, this will become easier and i will just be adjusted to it and it will just be what i do. i am sort of there, but i know it takes some getting used to. especially since we're so used to the junk. we tend to pick convenience over what is right. i am transitioning. i got type 2 diabetes with my pregnancy, and it didn't go away. so since being raw, it's

  • wow, we say your profile and weight loss and you are doing so well! way to stick with it and just do better all the time. no need for perfection, just improvement. the diabetes should subside/reverse with raw food (or a mostly raw food diet lower in refined sugars and higher in fresh fruit)....

  • Great video :) I just went from vegan to raw a few days ago and I did get just a little depressed, briefly. I was drinking green tea before regularly, so I believe that was already cleansing my blood, etc....but when I went raw, I've felt pretty good and running around taking care of things faster and more efficiently...but it seems maybe a little too fast. Could it have something to do with the tea I drank before?

  • if you were still drinking tea while going raw, this could be. also, if you are eating a lot of raw cacao it can give you a very stimulated, coffee-type feeling and this could also be the case. sometimes people just surge with energy when they first go raw. we tend to sleep less and get more done when eating predominantly raw. let us know if you need more info... thanks!

  • i have been trying to go 90% to 100% raw for a awhile now. I have always been very passionate about the raw food way of life. I now realize that variety and everything in moderation, even in the raw food and living food lifestyle is the best approach to take. I dont like to admit this, but sometimes I get side tracked and eat chips, icecream, dairy, etc. when I get bored from raw food. I am trying to educate myself more to eat a wide variety of live food to stay happy and energetic.

  • yeah, variety is key. eating cooked food and things not good for you is a very normal part of going raw. we read some interesting things in doug graham's book The 80-10-10 diet that explained a lot about why raw foodies will often revert to cooked food and comfort foods. it made total sense, so it is a recommended read for you. also, our book is on the press now and is full of rich flavorful and some lighter foods as well that could help you with variety! mmmmm

  • I have had WONDERFUL effects from going raw (76 days and counting) At 44yrs of age my practitioner gave me an option...lose weight or consider getting a pace maker for my failing heart! That was about 3 months ago. I JUMPED into the raw food realm because I didn't like the other option. Six dress sizes and about 50 pounds later, I feel very, very good! I will visit my practitioner next month so she can determine if all systems are nominal. Oh yeah! blood pressure is lower also ((HUGZZZZZ))

  • Incredible! What a phenomenal story of healing by CHOICE vs. healing by PRESCRIPTIONS (toxins). well done! I am sure your doctor will be sharing good news. Keep us posted! thanks thanks thanks! :) :) :)

  • I am hopeful and thank you for such positive vibrations towards the human existence on this wonderful planet of ours!!!

  • this is so true...ive been through that but i didnt know what it was. People just thought that i was starving myself.

  • yes, it is common to get strange reactions from people or for them to be paranoid that we are starving, etc.. eventually people tend to come around if you eat plenty and look healthy and energetic :)

  • The Video/s from the Union are up :)

  • cool. thanks

  • Another good way to help when going from a cooked diet to a raw diet is to do a colon cleanse with psyllium husk and calcium bentonite clay to help flush out old fecal matter in the colon and detox, by removing them we will be able to absorb more nutrients.

  • yes, we will touch on this in the next video...to use fiber, etc...to cleanse out the colon. good suggestion. some things to remember: 99% of psyllium comes from India, is HEAVILY sprayed with toxins, and is irradiated before we ever see it. also, bentonite must be in the correct suspension so that the body does not absorb any of the lead that naturally occurs in it. the only brand I know of that does both of there is Arise and Shine. thanks!

  • Wow, this is so educating for me. I did a cleanse using a popular brand. I didn't like how it made me feel and maybe this is the reason why. ((Shrugs))

  • yeah, you may just have been feeling crappy due to the toxins releasing, or perhaps it was the ingredients in the cleanse not being pure. just keep listening to your body and it will tell you your own truth of what is okay and not okay. :)

  • green juices help a lot in transitioning as it's a great way to get a lot of nutrients without taxing your digestive system...or green smoothies or salad...just get the greens in somehow, that's what helped me maintain a normal mindset and a happy mindset during the transistion process! also if you get a headache from detoxing, get plenty of cayenne pepper in something you're drinking! gets rid of the headache in 5 minutes or less usually! and don't overeat, but as you said don't undereat either

  • this is great feedback and advice...thanks for sharing what helped you out. we will be gathering some info and experiences and doing more on this topic :)

  • I completely agree. Before I even started thinking of going raw, I began with green smoothies as described in Victoria Boutenko's book Green for Life. I felt so alive that I began to introduce more and more raw; now, we are about 95% raw. I do sometimes make more "complicated" raw meals to satisfy "memory" cravings---just need the richness sometimes. hmmm...there have been bouts of emotional cleansing, but nothing to the extreme as described in the vid....great video!

  • thanks so much for the feedback...people will read and learn! glad things have not been too extreme for you and best of luck on your raw journey! we think you are doing fabulous at 95% raw! :)

  • That's interesting to hear because I have been basically living on fruit and loving it. The flavor of nectarines and peaches is what I like most at this point, and those two are probably the main thing in my diet. The flavor of raw foods is so rich and cooked foods taste so bland by comparison. I guess I am long past transition point. Even avocados taste good by themselves. Being able to taste things can be a factor of having enough zinc, which I probably got from cacao and nuts and seeds.

  • yes, we are sure you are mostly over the whole transition and therefore the fresh stuff tastes most vibrant. for the average "joe" who eats things dreanched in ranch dressing and ketchup, raw foods are an adjustment. soemtimes making tasty, salty raw food recipes allows them to transition and their tastebuds change slowly with their diet, which helps them not binge on the cooked stuff :) glad the fruit is going well for you. we are nectarine whores! we love them...

  • continued' body odor changes, temperature changes, weight changes/shifts, malnutrition aspects for those who are balancing things properly - b12 and protein defecienceis, hair loss, tooth problems - I have heard of all these things as major complaints during detox and seen many people give up on raw - give up on theirself and health due to lack of willpower to stick through the detox, ignorance as to how to balance foods and so forth. More talk on this topic please so they know they will be okay

  • yes, absolutely...this is just part one of a series. we will go deeper into things. this was a response for a viewer who had those specific questions she was asking, and we like to keep videos to around 6 minutes or less so as not to lose people. i can babrely get through anyone's 10 minute videos! ha...thank you for posting everything. people will read them and it will help...more coming up soon! xo

  • You gave her good advice. I'm glad to part 1, thank you for this, can't wait for part 2. I didn't have much transition at all but given my history - that's not hard to believe. People under estimate the power of detox and then go through it and flip out not knowing what is going on... what on earth is coming out. Colon cleansing, for example, is powerful and we can all benefit from it - many ways to do this too. Congrats on the book work! Ps. what about the flier idea? xo love the outdoor back

  • hey- i sent you a message thanking you bout the flier issue and we would get some cards or flier stuff to you after our book is ready. but the message did not go through. but yeah, we are into it. awesome idea. thanks thanks!

  • All I ever hear about is how people are on the pot pooping their brains out for weeks on end as they colon cleanse. I am suprised this wasn't mentioned in the video, it's the first time to warn people about. They flip out and go back to non raw foods because they can't handle the physical and physiological effects of detox. The emotional and spiritual are awakening as they are but physical stuff - you should mention for viewers... metabolic changes, GI changes, bowel cleansing, skin detox,

  • I can totally relate to this! When I went 100% raw, I went through a total emotional detox. I had to change religious views (my prior worldview was very harsh) and had to find peace with who I am, as a person and then I was okay.

I went through a dramatic (to say the least) physical healing with a 100% raw diet, too.

It's been a crazy awesome journey.

  • sweet. thanks for the feedback. i am sure others will read this and it will help them know their experiences are normal, and shared by others!
