Are you kidding me. Celine Dion by about 5000 miles. Mariah started out really strong. We all thought she was the next Whitney. But she was a comet. She fizzled out. I work at a restaurant and we do American Idol nights. At least 3 contestants do her music better then she can.

If Celine did lip synch on these two songs (TPOL, possibly the last note), it really doesn't matter all that much. The reason why Celine's voice can be nasally at times is because English isn't her native tongue, French is and when she sings in french its absolutely beautiful! I love her English songs as well! and of course Mariah is one of my favourites too, I love them both cant compare, they are both different artists.
I am amazed by the voices of these artists. Each has their own style & sound that is unique and only theirs. Yes,Celine still can sing her previous songs like she used to because she never was really impressive.Although Mariah was better at 1990's than 2000's,she is still way better than Celine.The proof ? Just compare their respective version of O Come All Ye Faithful,and you'll see that Mariah's 2010 version is way better than Celine's 1998 version.Same goes for Open Arms and The Star Spangled Banner.So Mariah at her worse days is still better than Celine at her best days.

Celine has zero range. She has some power but her tone sucks. Mariah has a hoarse and airy voice with less power. The whistle is gimmicky and makes it seem like she's better than she is. Whitney is pure tone and power. All at their best, Whitney destroys.

It is by far and without any doubt cristal clear that Celine Dion is the best vocal the world has ever heard. And I say that as a musician with 13 years of music school and extremelly good knowledge about singing and vocal techniques. And, as someone who knows other artists such as Roberta Flack, Etta James, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Adele, Bonnie Rait, Bonnie Tyler and many other amazing female vocals. okay first of all, I do not disagree with the fact that Celine lipsynches however with this it is irrelevant. If Celine did lip synch on these two songs (TPOL, possibly the last note), it really doesn't matter all that much. First of all, if you listen to Celine's performances, particularly TPOL both from the 90's and now, you will see that the vocals are not actually the same as when she first recorded it in 1993, her voice is actually deeper in the most recent because she is older so who cares

The reason why Celine's voice can be nasally at times is because English isn't her native tongue, French is and when she sings in french its absolutely beautiful! I love her English songs as well! and of course Mariah is one of my favourites too, I love them both cant compare, they are both different artists.

I am amazed by the voices of these artists. Each has their own style & sound that is unique and only theirs. Thank goodness we live in an era where we can see and hear the greatest singers of our generation. Why compare apples and oranges when we love them both? Neither of these ladies has lost their gift. Look at Tony Bennett who sings as well if not better than he always did.I hope they take care of their voices so we can have this silly argument 30 years from now.
