Can you please post a video of a tutorial on how to make this? also, a link to where you got yours from. I see the product on amazon but I don't know if it's good. Thanks.
@chr30fanpage You have to remove the camera from its case, which gets it down to < 10g. I mounted the circuit board of the camera at the front of the helicopter, above its control board, but I did find that it had to be as far back (ie. close to the center of gravity as possible), or it would drift forward uncontrollably. You'll notice in the video the helicopter is constantly moving forward - that's due to the extra weight, although I think I managed to counterbalance it eventually.
@chr30fanpage In terms of control it was fine, though.
One idea I did have was to remove the battery from the camera and connect it to the helicopter's battery (they're the same voltage). That would have reduced the extra weight to only a couple of grams. Unfortunately the helicopter broke before I got the chance to try that idea.
I have the S032 coming in the mail, and I ordered a similar camera. I hope I don't regret the chopper choice since I have been seeing a lot of failures lately. :S
I am going to have a lot of fun with it while it lasts, at least...
@oysterlicker It's a surprisingly good camera for the low price. The stable picture is helped by the gyro on the helicopter.
However, I can't recommend the S032. My helicopter lasted less than a week before it broke, and many people have experienced similar fundamental problems that seem to imply some serious design flaws.
Great job you did, really great. Yesterday I looked at a few videos with mini helis and that camera, and you have the stillest picture. I must get me a camera like that too!
You can get them really cheap on ebay - they're only about £10 / $15 or less. For the price they're very impressive - the video quality in particular is surprisingly decent. I greatly recommend getting one.
Are you using the camera's battery to power it or did you connect it to the helicopter battery? I think that it is the same 3.7V lithium battery on both.
@hdagelic In this video the camera is running off its own separate battery. What you describe is my eventual plan though. They aren't the same battery but they are the same voltage.
Unfortunately one of the motors on my heli broke within a week of me getting it so I haven't been able to do any more with it for the time being. Spares have just now appeared for sale on ebay so things are looking up though..

are the 15g of the spy-cam no problem for the heli? can you control the helicopter without any problems?

I have to admit, that is one fantastic camera, and it's stable... not sure the credit goes to the camera or the awesometastic Syma S032

@fragglet To clarify, they're both 3.7V LiPo batteries, but the camera battery is much smaller (physically and in terms of charge)
