  • colbert said" illegal emigrants (all nacionality) are taking the opportunity to Americans". they are no taking the work from anybody, they are taking what Americans do not want to do, as a work! the farmer work is not easy but somebody has to do it, Colvert has to close is mouth and be trainning his kids to do farm work. Maybe that way no illegal is gonig to take His kids work.

  • @Rhamis3dosmas So your statement here is saying that the farming job need to be left for your kids? I'm not sure what you're saying, as most. Colbert is saying that most immigrants that come here are looking for a better opportunity for their kids and family. Trying to become Americans ( who can blame them). Most immigrant workers get paid under the table anyway. What American is looking for a job paid under the table?

  • "jobs that dont involve sitting behind a desk" as he is behind a giant desk

  • @Pacman338 that was the point you idiot ..what he meant was he greatly respects hardworking american and that he considers his job of less value

  • this is is the same dude that said we're a dying civilization because the gov't is giving out birth control for free....

  • Steve King is a facist son of a bitch. May he rot in hell after he dies.

  • Rep. Steve King....why do I receive comments removed on Mr. Colbert on C Span 3....Please let me know what I am doing wrong....dar62952@yahoo.com, thank you for your time and consideration.

  • Rep. Steve King needs his fucking high and mighty, self-righteous ass kicked all the way across the House of Representatives! That son of a bitch is a serious danger to society. He needs to know that Karma is not looking very kindly on a man who strives to self-righteously impose religious laws on Iowa including all he has done to harm the LGBT constituents in his state. This man is seriously evil!

  • This man is an idiot. Pure and simple.

  • For every "study" Steve King can use as "proof" that low-skill immigrant labor "drives down wages", there are just as many, if not more, studies that say it doesn't. And seriously? $19,000 more in gov't benefits? That "study" by the Heritage Foundation has gotta be BS. Every REAL expert on this issue has found nowhere near that much. Only conservative and immigration hawk think-tanks claim nonsense like that.

King wants us to believe it's ALL THE IMMIGRANTS' fault. Scapegoating as usual.

  • All the worker woes in this country? Not the fault of a bad economy or Wall Street's screwup in 2008. NOOO... According to King, it's "the illegal aliens displacing workers inadvertently". Nonsense. Just baloney

The fact that young people are less employed now is somehow indicative of "immigration's impact on youth employment"?? Please... There's absolutely no evidence. He just wants to bitch and moan instead of actually doing something constructive for his constitutents.

  • "Those damn brown people from Latin America... How dare they take away jobs we're entitled to as American citizens. We were here first, dammit!" Instead of bashing immigrants and complaining about their "impact", why don't you LIFT UP and help native workers if you "care" so much about em? Not try to bring down immigrants and screw THEM over, this weird notion that by doing that you'll eventually help American workers.

Won't happen. Even if all the illegals left, it wouldn't fix itself.

  • At least not automatically.

  • How is this any different form the xenophobia and fearmongering about the waves of European and Asian immigration in the late 1800s and early 1900s? It's the same SCHTICK from the righties! Just a different group to scapegoat, lie and complain about. They were saying all this shit about Irish and Germans and Eastern Europaens and Chinese several decades ago, but our country survived and became better for it. Same thing will happen with Hispanic immigrants. Don't fear it.

  • Besides, as a percentage of the total population, illegal immigration is a drop in the fucking bucket! The waves of immigration in the late 1800s and early 1900s were MUCH HIGHER as a percentage of total pop. Yet our country somehow miraculously survived. I'm supposed to believe the immigration hawks?? Gimme a break.

    It's just nativism redefined.

  • @whoo689 Heh, go research the costs of Illegal Immigration, particularly in California and come back with some numbers. Oh, and don't get those numbers from Jon Stewart...they won't be real.

  • Funny how the same CONSERVATIVES who bitch about how liberals think that gov't should "give" certain rights like healthcare and education suddnely BITCH and want the gov't to give THEM a "right to a job." Hypocrisy? You decide

  • Whining about a problem which doesn't exist, a problem based on misinformation and bogus stats. "They're taking or jobs" Pfft. What "jobs" are you entitled to? Just because you were born here you're somehow more "worthy" of a job within our borders? Fuck you! A job is a fucking job, and the most qualified and least-costly workers for the business owners and managers should get it! End of discussion. Instead of whining, why not COMPETE with these immigrants?

  • And besides, why bitch about some immigrant "taking my job" in a low-skill industry? Are you REALLY that stupid?? How about GETTING MORE SKILLS so you can either a) be more qualified and attractive to employers in that same field or b) get NEW skills for a higher-caliber job? It's so SIMPLE!

  • I love all these crazy, ill informed, homophobic posts. Good ol' tea party

  • @bigkeys72 Come work for me. I won't pay you dick no matter how you bust your ass for me.

@armadillosignshop *yawn* Trailer-park conservatives call anyone who can read an elitist.

  • Oh gosh, he had to bring the troops into it. Don't they get hazard pay in a war zone? $8.75 seems slim...

  • colbert got his stupid faggot ass destroyed

  • AMEN STEVE!!!! Let the dems laugh and play with Colbert. After November you and the Republicans have a lot of work to do

  • Look how the Liberals deal with facts on the posts below. Resort to banging on their high chairs and WAAH!.. Drop your lighter Liberal idiot, step away from the bong, exhale, then realize your Hope And Change mantra isn't working. In a little over 30 days you and your Liberal insanity are going to be hit with a 2x4 upside your elitist attitude grill, that you can go back home crying to Obamanazi fan club loser friends, rolling your zig zag dirt weed and lying about the last time you got laid

  • A brilliant annihilation of that smirky race traitor punk Colbert: the look on his face and on those of the brown turds at the table with him was priceless. The pinko assclown thought he'd be able to swagger in there and have a ball using his threadbare mockery shtick to toy with the "racist xenophobe wingnuts" - but instead ended up wearing his ass for a stinky hat....;o)

But of course, you'd never know that from the judenpresse coverage - which is why the jews must swing in the breeze.

  • Rep. King is an Elitist asshole!

  • Joe the Plumber was a hoax.

  • About Time the real story is here in this video! What a stance on equality for Americans, not illegal immigrants. There would be more money in the system for the government, if legal tax paying workers interest were protected. Instead we are subsidizing non-taxpayers. Liberals are content with squandering honest taxpayer money to create a Nanny State for illegals.

  • Great video.

  • Joe the Plumber, if he was a plumber make $130 an Hour!!!

  • Thank you Mr. King.

  • King said it himself. When treated with respect and paid a fair wage Americans will do any work. That is the problem. Business owners don't want to pay an American a fair wage, they would rather pay illegals a liveable wage. Don't blast the illegals for living under the system that we allow to exist, and don't be surprised when Americans turn their noses up at those jobs.

  • Maybe Mr. King should consider running for President ?

  • American wages are down to shit any way whats the big deal! How about congress passes a law to lift American wages higher instead! Stop trying to hide the reality of the situation.

  • The wage depression is only happening in the skilled labor pool (construction jobs). I live in WA and I don't know anybody in eastern or western WA than want to pick berries, apples, or work on chicken farms or anything else that is "below" a construction job. I swear to god most kids would rather live on the street than do these jobs in WA. So someone has to do them, Mr. King.

  • I am in love I swear! My neighbor is an illegal, he has three grand in his pocket at all times. Wears a 5 hundred dollar chain, just bought a 200 dollar cell, and has two american kids supported by welfare dollars. And did I mention he thinks he's sending away for the rest of his family, and sends 5-6 hundred a week home?

  • What did Repubes do about illegal immigration and OUTSOURCING of jobs in the 8 years they had congress and the presidency? Nothing; because they (and wall street) love cheap labor from powerless workers. And Colbert was talking about legal migrant workers and the conditions under which they work and live, not illegals. The reason most Americans don't want these jobs is because they don't want to move all over the place and live in those conditions, not because the work is hard.

  • @lwolf1952 They have done as much as the demoncrats who keep them around as a body to vote for the dead people who cant.

  • See ya libs and progressives, November can't come soon enough.

  • Thank you Rep King for stating the obvious. "Progressives" are either too ignorant to see this problem.... Or, they are disingenuous when addressing the problem.

  • Well said! God Bless and thank you

  • thank god for congressmen like this. we need more november is coming!

  • Thank you R. Steve King for taking the time to do your home work...to actually do the research on this issue.I am not a college graduate, I'm almost 5 ft tall, 107 pounds and I spent 10 years in the beef packing plant. Anyone that has worked in any meat packing plant on the lines knows its not an easy job .The main reason to why the illegals should not have the jobs is simple....because they have no right being in this country without the proper procedures.Illegal is Illegal

  • My grandparents came to Ca. in the 30's as migrant farm workers from Missouri. The people here called them Hoverville Okies. All people will do what it takes. It has nothing to do with nationallity. Of course in those days there were no government hand outs. If you didn't work you didn't eat. Charity came from local churches if at all. Some, like my grandparents refused charity and took care of themselves.

  • @dbarhart That's what we need to do today. Stop providing welfare and freebies and the illegal immigrants will stop coming.

  • @dbarhart People need to read the book "Grapes of Wrath" or listen to some Woody Guthrie songs to really appreciate this issue...

  • God Bless Steve King!! Colbert and Rodriguez loooked like they messed their pants. That happens when liars are confronted with the truth.

  • Since when did conservative Republicans start worrying about workers not getting paid enough? Their position is that employers should be able to pay as little as they please. Obviously King has another motivation & wages are just a stalking horse.

  • @loupgarou5z3w Genius.. he wasn't saying "people should be paid more." He was pointing out how Americans WOULD do farmwork if they weren't underbid by migrants who ACCEPT an impoverished way of life.

  • @snoobeagle You do know that when immigrants underbid it means they are willing to work for just surviving on impoverished pay. Unless the Americans also ACCEPT impoverished pay it is simply Capitalism at work.

You can't have it both ways. You either let capitalism put America out of a job mercilessly, or you regulate the business practices. Capitalism includes cruelty to anyone who cannot work for the lowest pay, and in this case it is the Americans.

  • @Neosaigo Wrong as usual for an illegal immigrant sympathizer. The Americans wouldn't have to "ACCEPT impoverished pay" as the MARKET (yay capitalism) simply wouldn't provide workers at this rate. Farmers would have to decide to pay the lowest fee Americans would accept, do it themselves, or go out of business. If you want to talk cruelty, let's talk socialism and how your naivete overlooks important concepts such as motivation and fairness.

  • @loupgarou5z3w - If the workers aren't getting paid enough, then obviously they're not doing a good job. You're not owed a job, you have to work hard for it. This is the Republican position and it's the right one.

  • Since when did conservative Republicans start worrying about workers not getting paid enough? That's no conce

  • I agree about kids now a days having lousy work ethics, I've worked many different jobs and started when I was 13 working for a farmer picking rocks out of a field, Haying, picking vegetables. I worked my ass off in a tannery for 8 years, anywhere from 8 to 12 hrs a day 7 days a week. I'd work at a farm no problem if I could earn a wage enough to help take care of my family and I'm almost 50 now. So to those that say the American worker won't do these job. SCREW YOU!!!

  • ... Whenever you see a pol arguing against his own ideology, you have to be suspicious of his motives.

  • Very suspicious. What have conservative Republicans ever done to increase workers' wages? That's not a goal of theirs, but lessens corporate profit--which is their goal. Whenever you see a pol arguing agao

  • Right on. Thank you VERY MUCH Rep. King. Its about time someone put this Leftist agenda talking point in its place. Its tired and used up. We American citizens do what it TAKES to get things done. Are we so weak that we need an illegal immigrant slave class to pick our crops? NO WAY. Americans do what it takes. Period.

  • @SeaWolfe59

how about when the Republican congress in 06 called Elmo of Sesame St. to testify?

ps-the video is 'edited', colbert owns king after

  • @SouthwindPOR

Im fully aware of that. The Elmo character was not there to LAMPOON the proceedings. He was there to promote funding for music education. Sorry, but the Elmo event didnt make a mockery of the process like Mr. Colbert did.

I guess youre one of Colbert's cheerleaders. In the end the only thing Colbert owned was his ticket out the door when John Conyers asked him to vacate.

  • @SeaWolfe59

reeaaaaaly? you see a big difference?

    A muppet,serious?

asking for funds instead of a cause?

In a BIG subcommittee like that, instead of one that last week was not even one camera?

elmo ACTUALLY cost a penny or another to taxpayers and u see no difference?

man,you are dumb.Take one prozac or 2.You know one of those evil, liberal medicine that prolong your existence like antibiotics.

    Du'oh!stupid! LMFAO HeHe d(^^)b

  • @SouthwindPOR

The Elmo character wasnt asking for funds but was instead there to support the IDEA of funding for music education.

Aside from your excusing Colbert's baffoonary by referring to something you see in the past as somehow similar and therefore an excuse, it appears that you are all in favor of a court jester to mock our political system and process.

As for the remainder of your post, I dont respond to insults. I always find them connected to one's ignorance and hateful nature.

  • @SeaWolfe59

eeerh nah nah"...asking for funds for musical education".

Oh the lesser man couldn't take a harsh word?oh so pity of you.

How the statements are false in previous post?

-subcommittee that elmo went isn't considered more importand and high profile and rep called 4 him?

-he did ask for funds?do u need quotes?colbert at least was a cause.

-he,elmo, ACTUALLY spent penny or 3 of taxpayers

  • @SouthwindPOR

    1. I really dont care about the "Elmo" nonsense. Its irrelevant.

    2. Stephen Colbert has made an ass of himself as witnessed by the lack of laughter and John Conyers' request that he leave and, instead, submit his statements on paper.

    3. You likely support Mr. Colbert's bufoonary because you support illegal immigration.

    4. You likely support illegal immigration because you are likely hispanic and your support is based on racial preference.

    5. You should learn how to write.

  • @SeaWolfe59

    plus,

-consERV/gop believe in creationism. In which you believe that dinosaurs and humans lived together. So 'the Flintstones' is actually a documentary 4y.LMFAO.

    -In the same subject.You attack science.Like antibiotics,without which you wouldn't reach 30.

Yeah,,,,it sounds all very smmmmmmart to me HaHa :D

  • @SouthwindPOR

You know nothing about the specifics of my beliefs and faith. Stereotyping me is a clear sign of your ignorance and prejudice.

And, by the way, how does your post relate to the subject at hand exactly? I'll answer. It doesnt relate. Not at all. Its just that youve decided you dont like my opinions so your course of action is to attack my character by making up a strawman. This will get you nowhere.

  • @SeaWolfe59

your words "...Its about time someone put this Leftist agenda"(1st post, about colbert). Not mine.

Talking about 'agenda'.Then by your own generalization(also) that you accept to others and not yourself, i decided to put some out, some believes of conserv/gop this days. The religious way.Since there are no more moderates in the GOP.

i see what you did there. You escape all points i made.

It's OK 'cause i've this idea that u were a coward already.

  • @SouthwindPOR

There is indeed an agenda among the Left to give amnesty and benefits to illegal immigrants. You cannot deny that the Left supports illegal immigrants. Its their own words!

But when you make specific statements about a specific person, in this case ME, a person youve never met in your entire life, you are STEREOTYPING. Sir, thats called prejudice. So why are you trying to attack me personally?

And how do your statements about my personal beliefs relate to the debate here?

  • @SeaWolfe59

shut u did it all time in your 1st post asshole.Pretending to be fragile ego, attacking.Hum,somebody bought Glenn Beck book, that 'tactic' is more old that you are.At the end of day you are still a coward.

COWARD! hill billy hit the van,you are just too stupid for this league.

Did i hurt your feelings saying that elmo actually spent taxpayers money,or that cons/gop believe in creationism and that's so stupid that it hilarious,uh,'the flinstones' HaHa

    Antibiotics is such a curse.

  • @SouthwindPOR

I guess I was wrong about something after all. I engaged in dialogue with a insulting, profane, ignorant TROLL. Shame on me.

Youre dismissed. Now go away illiterate knat.

  • @SeaWolfe59

HaHaHA AH AH HA HA HHA HAHAHAHAH so stupid, troll LMFAO u got no game because your are stupid HeHe d(^^)b

    still escaping my points just because you know i'm right;

Hey religious boy toy,in the lyrics of johnny cash:

"you can run on for a long time.Run for a long time.Soon or later, God's gonna cut you down".

  • @SouthwindPOR

    Ok illiterate Troll.

  • @SouthwindPOR

Stop harassing me or I will report you.

  • absolutely right on Mr. King!

  • Bravo, Congressman King! Thank you for such a well stated & thorough response to Colbert's bad stand-up routine & misguided drivel. I have an idea for Colbert. In exchange for his 'take our jobs' campaign, the Congressman could have a 'you move to a ranch in Cochise County' campaign. That way, Steve could spend his time repairing holes punched in water lines, fences torn open, and repair vandalism by illegal immigrants. Ever get offered $4,000 to give an MS13 member a ride to Phoenix?

  • Now here is an American Patriot in touch with his people and willing to stand for his people. Straight talking no bs in your face facts! I love this guy!

  • Thank you Rep. King. You certainly do IA 1 a proud service.

  • I am incredibly wary of Colbert's high statusism. I bet Rep. Stve King has made a huge political risk by bringing down Colbert's over-the-top character a few knotches. Colbert is a highly worship idol in this country.

  • Bless you for speaking up for us Rep. Steve King. I have been unemployed for a long time and would gladly take this work, even though I have a masters degree.

  • @T2CPA I have a strawberry farm in Washington state. Would you come pick them for $1.50 a flat?

  • Dear greenthumbguy1 - I would take this opportunity if it were near me in MI. I have kids here and my husbands job is here. Let me know if you have any farms here.

  • yes, I know its has, not hass spelling police...take a breather...

  • Rep King is my new freaking hero! Right on Rep King! Ship em home, would we get the same considerations there? Send them back to their countries, if they refuse to fight for themselves thats their own damn problem..i'll be damned before I work my ass off to support them! I know an illegal and he carries 5 grand at all times and hass all the trimmings makes me sick! But in Mass, its not illegal to be illegal according to our DA!

  • VitoTwoShots RE: your comments to musicscott14:

Please do not insult immature idots by comparing them to Progessives like this "gentleman."

Also...Save your anger and profanity for Nov. 2nd...Words are cheap at this point. Only our actions at the polls and educating those who are uninformed,,, or like musicscott14 (brainwashed) will rid this nation of the paracites that have infected our nation.

Pray for enlightenment for those who have been deceived.

  • Fuck Colbert.

  • how about 70 hours work week working as a rail road conductor and i have to carry 80 lbs knuckle(train attachment) 2 miles because the last freaking car broke off and each car weight about 120 tons and if it runs you over there's no tomorrow.

  • Colbert looks like the idiot he is. He should stick to trying to be funny. He had NO business in the US Congress. This was a ridiculous attempt by the demos to be funny. We laugh at them without Colbert. Every unemployed American thinks they're real funny.... not! Colbert needs to get a real job. Shoveling manure is a good start for him. Especially since he has a mouth full of it every time he opens it.

  • @neisdsucks Sorry but Colbert would even flunk at being funny. His elitist views are more like being pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • @RichPeru63 No argument there. I've seen him a couple of times and didn't find him funny. He's arrogant and a know it all. He's stupid and ignorant like most actors/actresses who think because of their role in society it makes them qualified to tell us what's in the best interest of OUR country. Good to see so many conservatives signing in and condemning the joke before congress. Then again congress is a joke...

  • Amen Rep. King! Screw Colbert !

  • this is great! He's right on!

  • @musicscott14 You're an idiot. There are farmers that claim Americans wont work in there farms even if they offer $15 an hour. There is a study that proves this isnt the case. A farmer in Texas proved he could hire American workers for his farm at $15 per hour and had to turn people away because all his jobs were filled.

The point is, we dont need the mexicans to do jobs that Americans are more than willing to do. If you deport all the illegals, the jobs they steal will be open to Americans

  • @musicscott14 : Too say you are a bumbling immature idiot would be a compliment. First, learn to spell, second, grow up . Colbert is a jerk off. And the Democrats were jerk offs for even bringing that goofball before a government committee. Your logic is screwed. So this guy is doing labor anymore. So fucking what. He owned a construction company. Did you even listen to his entire statement or do you just hurl opinions without hearing all the details like most idiot liberals do.

  • Thank you Rep. King. It kills me when I hear that Americans won't do this work that has been taken away from us. Kids ARE losing work ethic, because there's no place to learn it with a responsible job. And it's not just labor, there are illegal craftsmen from Mexico in every industry. Depressing wages, and changing our culture. Has to stop.

  • @strat335

    "Americans won't do this work".

    English, do u understand it?

Colbert was advocating that giving rights and conditions americans one day might go do that work again, that only the powerless do now..

He went speak WITH the movement "TAKE OUR JOBS NOW".(which is your point of view exercise, kind of a way).

YOU KNOW HOW MANY AMERICANS WENT DO THAT JOB?...16.

    your point is invalid,

I DARE YOU to reply this fact.

  • @strat335 If you as a citizen "CAN'T" get those jobs.. then there is something wrong with you.. or your EMPLOYER.. believe it or not... Illegals DO NOT choice their jobs.. some cheap American worker hating employer put them their.

So your focusing your anger at the wrong people.. until Republicans realise that, they will NEVER fix the problem... but hey they will spend billions on the symptoms, while the cancer gets worse

  • @2bRealist your STUPID

  • @mh18744 That's it?.. millions of employers break the law and fuck the American worker by skipping them over for cheap "illegal" labor.. and all you can say is "your stupid"??

You teabagger types give true conservatives a bad name.

Can't wait to get over this period of our time, and back to realising we are all on the same side, and we ALL are effective by the REAL problem of illegal immigration.

in the mean time.. enjoy the low prices of "American picked" fruits and vegetables

  • @2bRealist, dude, just stop fucking typing. This situation is a serious one, and congress ought not be interrupted by a fucking elitist clown that is wasting their time by going into diatribes about his great-grandfather killing a man in Ireland and that he did not come to this country to see it overrun by immigrants.

  • @2bRealist - I'll pay a buck more for my lettuce and not pay 19,000 a year per illegal worker! Didn't you listen AT ALL to the video?

  • @strat335

Illegal immigrants also get racial preferences from the government in employment....

  • colberts whole spill was to highlight the ignorant means politicians use to gain backing & votes by bringing in celebrities that know nothing about the subject matter ie...an actor from the series E.R. speaking on HEALTHCARE & HOSPITALS...ok so they play a Dr. on t.v. they dont know jack about what theyre talking about; still theyre invited to speak & unfortunately IT WORKS...now MAYBE POLITICIANS WILL REALIZE JUST HOW STUPID IT IS WASTE TIME WITH SUCH.BUT I DOUBT IT,THEYRE POLITICIANS.

  • Colbert is an elitist asshole!

  • @armadillosignshop

and you are hill billy that believes "the Flintstones" are a documentary and is still using antibiotics(which is evil liberal medicine).

  • @armadillosignshop

how about when the Republican congress in 06 called Elmo of Sesame St. to testify?

  • @lwolf1952 I love how people mark comments as spam when that comment owns them. Good Job armadillosignshop.

  • @armadillosignshop Apparently, an elitist is someone who finds success in his field, maintains his critical intelligence, and uses his fame to try and affect change (how dare he try to do something positive! How DARE he speak his mind!!!)

Colbert is far from schooled by King. The difference between Colbert and King is that Colbert is openly performing, and King is pretending that he isn't. King is an actor too, a much more manipulative and dishonest one.

  • Thank you to Rep. Steve King for telling it like it is.

  • Colbert just got a real ass woopin'... Suck it up funny boy.

  • @imbubba56 I know, right? Did you see the look on his face? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! What now bitch?!?!?
