Clearly you guys don't know what death metal is or rather was back when they came out with their first album. Jonathan Davis may not always growl, but when he does it's closer to death metal growling than anything else. Korn=Death Metal Growl/Riffs+Hip Hop/Metal Beats. They've become softer and more Electro over the years, but their roots are in death metal and 90's Gangsta Rap style beats. It's not enthusiasm, it's what they are. Go listen to Blind.

Things go full circle. In an early interview Distance said that it was Korn that were one of his initial influences in making dubstep and they opened up his mind to the possbilities that bass holds.

The problem with this album is the the band members aren't really in it that much. It's really just Jonathan Davis featuring a load of dubstep producers. If you listen to something like Get Up, that had a perfect 50/50 mix of Korn and dubstep, something new but you knew sonically it was Korn. Had every song been crafted that way I probably would've enjoyed this album.

This really needs to be a 2-cd set. One pure korn, the other a dubstep remix CD. Dubstep sounds funny when its not a remix of something that is already good. While I agree with the fact that Korn were doing dubstep before it was invented, simply getting a song "half-way-there" then expecting dubstep to provide the other half is set for failure. Even Linkin Park weren't that bold and did Hybrid Theory, then did Reanimation (the remix album).

Well for me, this new sound of theirs will be really really cool if they will mix it with real drums and real guitars occasionally. If they will play these songs live with not beats from computer but with a real drummer then it will be so awesome at the highest level. David Silveria for example, will play them with electronic + acoustic drum kit, then changing his drum module always in specific parts of the song. I'm planning to make a video of this playing the drums wth EKit. hehe.

After first self titled album (great!)- Life is Peachy was a revolution in a metal music! After that Korn was too much commercial, soft, mellodic.

Korn III was hope for back to the greatest time of the band.
