  • My PC.

    Intel pemtium 4 2.4ghz

    Nvidia 6600GT 128 MB

    768mb ram HIGH QUALTY Rez.1024x768 35min 60avr 65 max FPS

    IBM Net Vista

    DOOM3 HIGH

  • i hate most of the fps because the playing character talks nothing

  • Makes sence watching ultra high quality in 360p...

  • @nanth85 Added: 3 years ago

  • such a shitty game engine

  • my pc is crap so i have to play it on low settings

  • even have batter graphics than halo 3 xD

  • This game was awesome ! Thumbs up !

  • Awesome graphics for 2004 , so shut your mouth

  • it was a good game of its time but the original dooms where soooooooooo much better, lets hope Doom 4's good

  • My impression of doom3 was that ID wanted to go to another level with graphics but something had to give, they had to make small enviroments wich is totally fine when youre representing that new. My point is it would be gret if they did it again with todays standards :D imagen the graphics, jeeeeeeeeeeeesus.

  • @nils4545 My impression was that id software tried to badly rip off System Shock and Half-Life and slap the Doom name on it. It's id software's worst game, IMHO.

  • @TonicBH I think you have no idea what you're talking about. Doom as always been like this, just less dark, and just because System Shock is dark as well and Half-Life has mutated creatures as well DOESN'T mean that you can even compare them to Doom 3.

  • @raidtime But Doom 3's plot is literally a carbon-copy of the original Doom and Half-Life. That was okay in 1993, but this was released in 2004, where more story-driven games were becoming commonplace.

And they gimped the whole PDA shit from System Shock except not as well, that's where the "badly ripping off" part came from. Really, Doom 3 is not a good game. Quake II is a better game than this and that game was fucking terrible.

  • @raidtime

    Are you really this stupid?

  • @TonicBH Funny since it came out before half life 2.

  • @TonicBH Funny since doom 3 came out before half life 2.

  • @jamstudiosgames I was talking about Half-Life 1, which came out years before Doom 3. The series didn't begin at HL2, y'know.

  • @jamstudiosgames

Ladies and gentlemen a cod fag adds his opinion.

  • So the marine in the beginning of this video gets turned into a zombie demon thingymabober, but he wasn't wearing a helmet, and he gets a helmet after transforming. Demon mandatory headgear I guess?

  • Is everyone insane! The graphics still look amazing now!!

  • also the lady computer sounds like the girl in dead space saying now entering zero gravity

  • reminds me of dead space, wonder if dead space was inspired by this game

  • Definition of pointless: Putting a video of a game in Ultra Quality but only making it available in 320p. Genius.

  • @jarvmeister Added: 3 years ago

  • @TonicBH Which just makes me wonder what the point of putting the video up was in the first place. You might as well install a 7.1 surround sound system in a school for the hard of hearing.

  • @jarvmeister The intent was to show the highest image quality, which was kinda rare when it was released. If you want an HD video of this, go elsewhere.

  • @jarvmeister no offence buddy but you saying this video is pointless

your comment is the excat same pointless just saying

  • Im surprised my computer can run this on high settings, i have yet to try ultra although my computer lags while playing world of warcraft so playing this on high made me jump for joy.

  • @lildread1 it should work all it means is increasing the resolution to take uo more of the screen so it hase to add more detail

  • Lighting effects were really well done in this game. Model quality could have been better tho.

  • @Railware i reckon.....still a good game tho

  • Why do most of the doom 3 ultra quality videos don't use the HD audio ? The HD audio makes the game sounds cool and more realistic .

  • @quake4ever2007 Added: 3 years ago

  • Have u seen Rage by ID. Their new game. That looks crap as well. ID ARE SHIT

  • @TheWompier Clearly a retard. You even spelt the company's name wrong. Newfag.

  • i love it! a big horror-house! Cant play it alone in the dark!

  • I still play it, great game classic.

  • Impressive dynamic shadows

  • wait till doom 4 comes out

  • wow for a 2004 game its freaking amazing how good the graphics are

  • How come i get 100 - 200 fps on ultra quality and 70 -80 fps on high quality?

  • still lookin better then other games from 2004 till 2010

  • for 2004, these were the highest graphics in the gaming world

  • sadening that you would try to make a big deal out of an old game. Half life 2 and quake both look just as good if not better

  • This is an old game, any decent pc can look like this nowadays.

  • looks like crap

  • @mfreeman451 2004 game, dude.

  • @mfreeman451 SIgh, Halo boy! Doom 3 can look like 2010 games with proper tweaking (a hdr shader, hi-res skins, better textures and maybe hi-poly models)

  • Wow. For 2004 those graphics are damn good. The shadows and level of detail is astounding. If id is always at the technological peak, then imagine how RAGE is gonna look in 6 years.

  • #show = YA FUCKEN MUM

  • #show YA MUM SAYS THIS GAME IS AWESOME

  • #show=Wow so ahead of its time

  • damn this game still looks amazing!

  • when doom 3 was released it was really epic to be able to run it on ultra high detail with high resolution. since a powerful computer 2004 had like 1gb ram and 256mb graphic card.

now u have like 8gb ram and 2 gb graphic card memory and QUADCORE!!!

  • I wish all these ignorant 5-year old gamers would either shut the hell up or go away, stop dissing the graphics of Doom 3, it was released in 2004. Get over it, not all games are fucking hyper-realistic to the point of being able to see microbes on the walls, damn.

  • @TheRoboticFerret better to have good gameplay than graphics. hell, i still play my gameboy more than the mountains of current generation shovelware 'and any good games are either too short or are broken one way or another' example team fortress 2 is amazing but the pc version is very unstable because of usual steam glitches and bullshit and the console version is impossible to get online with on account of the shitty EA servers. im leaning towards retro gaming myself sadly.

  • @ferretlord2177 Hey, that's not sad at all, right now I'm making a multiple-map project for ZDoom, and Doom 2 is really old. :P Still, it's one of the best games ever.

I just noticed you have ferret in your username too.

  • lol it looks like there is no difference between high quality and ultr, I run d3 on high quality and it looks the same.

  • All those criticizing the graphics are most likely14 year old pussies that never experienced the generation of video gaming that Doom came from.

  • jaja das monorail lexel is schon geil^^

hab es auch schon auf veteran durch..

    super game echt

  • @sonicdaguy The game was released in 2004, dude.

  • @sonicdaguy This game is pretty old. What do you expect?

  • @sonicdaguy u do know it still has bigger textures than and cod and still has pretty good gfx today

  • @sonicdaguy ur mom sucks in bed too, besides these graphics were great in 2004, u should research before u criticize, besides, the game is great, the graphics dont add on that much anyway

  • @sonicdaguy wow you dont know a shit bout games, but im gona tell you what really sucks son of a ****

  • iniciate like half life xD (sorry for the english)

  • haha some kind of monorail tram with a womans voice on the intercom? Black mesa come to mind much?

  • i think this still holds its place as my favorite game of all time for multiplayer and story

  • i have old athlon 3000+, last summer ive upgraded it with asus ah4650 (ati card), the only fast card for old ass agp port, and i tried doom3 on ultra, shit was fast and smooth as fuck, this engine is a masterpiece, even in these days it can be compared to aaa games (esp the shading)

ps: the only thing, thats different in ultra settings mode are uncompressed textures i believe, you can clearly see it on ingame computer screens or ingame monsters/player textures

  • with that rifle it sounds like music :) 2:39

  • i hate when they do that

  • this game still looks better than many new releases

  • I heard a vioce when u were going in teh train

  • Killzone2-visuals are not superior to Doom3.

  • @jurisnake8 You must be blind sonny.

  • @h3a

imagine kz2 without smoke, you will have a good xbox1-title(no joke) but devs wont tell it so they can keep their magic since most gamers are dumb in technology-aspects. If I would come up with crysis, that would be another story.

  • the train XD jajaja very half life

  • @00GerS There is also a monorail section where you cant touch the rails. Though it is hard to do something in a game that half-life hasn't done.

  • Game STILL looks freaking sweet.

It's gotten to the point now where a game can't look outdated, even after years and years

  • Quake 4 didn't really change too much in the graphics did it?

  • Quake 4 ran off id Tech 4 - the Doom 3 engine.

If anything, this is as far as the engine can go without being heavily modified like in Brink or Wolfenstein.

  • @instantarts Or call of duty.

  • @shtpickle Call of Duty was a heavy mod

  • Betrugar calls the commando "Kwozmer jalopan" I wonder what that means. Doom3 is filled with strange ancient languages.

  • its in latin i think

  • HAVE A NICE DAY! XD

  • When this game came out no one could even dream of even coming close to the graphics for a long time! Great game! only wish it had more monsters like doom 1&2 who had hordes and hordes

  • It was released in 2004. You have to be a little less harsh on it.

  • Yes. And still, graphics don't make a game.

  • but graphics sure do help you have to admit, they make the game alot more emersive. if graphics really didnt matter, we wouldnt be able to do alot of things. like shadows to create suspense or detail to make monsters look all torn up and ugly. you get the idea lol :0

  • @DDRrez if graphics didnt' matter, all we'd have is text based horror games...

  • @TonicBH for something that came out that long ago, its pretty damn good.

  • crysis will have ugly graphics in 5 years

  • The word you are looking for is "dated," not "ugly."

  • They are amazing graphics for a 2004 game

  • @fox110110 Not a 2004 game! :) Doom 3 was mostly developed around 2000-2002. It was released in 2003, but the ALPHA version of the game leaked by ATI was about 2002. This game, like all serious iD software titles, was years ahead of it's time. Just wait for Rage, and you will see what I mean.

  • @iris030380 No, it was released in 2004. Same year as HL2.

  • @TonicBH

    Okay... :)

  • @iris030380 ok well if this is true then why would they release the beter version a year earlyer to the original version cus from my understanding "ALPHA" when talking bout a videogame like doom 3 (kik ass to by theway) means a newer verion

  • @PKMFAN6645

The Alpha was a very early version, it is the development build, earlier even than a beta version, so it is unfinished and untested. And they did not release it - ATI were working with John Carnack and iD software very closely, and some people at ATI stole the alpha version and released it publicly. Hence, ATI no longer worked with iD after that, and the game was heavily engineered to run with nVidia cards instead. At least, thats what I heard at the time.

  • @TonicBH damn pwned!!

  • @Gaurio crysis has ugly graphics

  • @Gaurio yea but crysis 2 will have bad graphics in 100

    cant w8 for crysis 2

  • @Gaurio but since its release in 2007 (3 years) its beat every other game to date

  • wake up and...smell the a-a-a-ashes.

  • half life 2 lmao!

  • Rise, Rise Rise, Rise Rise, Rise

  • They should waste more money on lightning than technology...

  • r_gamma 1.5

    r_brightness 1.5

    now enjoy the game...

  • who is that directed towards?

  • your bumhole

  • Haha, how funny. Guess where you are being directed to?

  • your mother?

  • does anyone think doom 3 looks better then metal gear solid 4?!?

  • NO?!?

  • @zakyzeek yes

  • @fordmike yes

  • Monorail is one of the best parts in the game imo :) a zombie-commandos are sick :D

  • Yeah! :D I remember the first time i ran in to a zombie-commando in the monorail level. I got so freakin sceard when he ran out from the shadows and kicked me in the head. xD They are my favorite monsters in doom3.

  • Too bad they get gib splatted with the Flashlight @_@.... I wanted some nice ragdolls thar D:

  • Doom 3 has been released five years ago, but the graphics can still cope with action games released today! Imagine that!

This game really scares the hell out of me. Especially when played in the evening. It may have weak points , yes: the story and it is a little bit repetitive, too.

But it is still an exciting game.

  • GOOD JOB BUDDY!

  • Believe it or not but i'm only playing it now...and it fkn scares me!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I need to play this game again. Last time i played it was on a 6600GT. first time i beat it was on a 9200e.

    Heh, Now its a GTX275.

This game is disturbing to play at night by yourself with the sound cranked up.

think people forget how much new technology doom3 brought to the table. Bad guys hit boxes before this game were squares. so you could shoot in between his legs or over his shoulder and still kill him. not so with doom 3 if you ever played against the skeleton punchers you would no

  • This kinda looks like the quake 4 campain.

  • Well quake 4 is from the same ID, too.

  • Quake 4 is Raven-developed, id-sanctioned. Bit of a difference.

  • I don't care what others say, I think Doom 3 is a great game. The ending kind of sucked, i'll give you that, but the rest of the game was a blast.

  • @Optics233 took the words out of my mouth

  • ive got athlon 64x2 6000+ (3.ghz)

    2gb 533mnz ram

nvidia 6150le (integrated with 256 memory)

and ive got it running on ultra with all advance settings on at 640x480 at 2x aa

    and it runs smooths as

  • Because it's old :D

The 6150 LE is nothing to gloat about... I have a 6150 SE (the better of the two) it's not gaming capable. This game is OLD. And aging. Almost any system can play it maxed out, assuming it was made in the last 3 years...

  • My pc is 790I ultra mobo Quad sli 295 GX2 x 2 1X Agelia 128mb Physic card (pci) 1x Wireless Turbo 300+mbs card (pci) 1X Killer M1 Gaming networking Card (pci) 8GB HyperX ram @ 1200Mhz locked @ 1:1 FSB Wolfdale 8600 @ 4.5 GHZ - 1:1 FSB Coolermaster Storm Sniper Atx case Coolit Freezone Watecooling Coolmaster 1200W PSU Just finished building it 2 days back and omfg it goes like the Wind! Titles i want - Doom 4, Quake 5, Rage, Wolfenstein hopefully i can run them on ultra :D
  • Intel is the best processor I heard, I here its more smooth, thats why alienware uses it instead of well, actually intel is good for laptops, and desktops, are good for amd...me im for intel 2 extreme quad

  • I have 3 Ghz processor (not sure what type)

640 Megabytes of ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 6100 256 megabyte integrated video card.

I can run this on Ultra, 1024x768 resolution.

  • No way man. It's time to upgrade. I have:

    AMD Phenom 9950quad @ 2.6ghz each

EVGA GTS 250 w/ dual CPU & 1 GB dedicated memory

    4gb corsair RAM @ 800 mhz each

  • Shit. I wish. When I run the game on ultra, it's about 20 frames per second. lol

High quality is perfect, but I'd kill for a better computer at this point. Going on with the same one for almost five years now I think.

  • I had the same comp for about 3 years until May. I built a new one & it has made a hude difference. If you ever have the spare money you can build a kicks ass gaming PC for about $800. That's what I spent on mine & it will play anthing I throw at it on the highest settings except Cyrsis.

  • Crysis really isn't worth it anyway. It's pretty and all, but you should definitely go for Far Cry 2.

But either way, that's just my opinion.

I've been wanting to build a pc for the last few years, but just never really get around to it. I still can't even decide on whether or not to get Vista (leaning towards not). Thanks for the advice though. I didn't know it would be that cheap.

  • Crysis is really not that good of a game. Basically it's made to benchmark your computer, not to play XD

  • Disagree. It's better than Far Cry 2, at least.

  • Well your wrong then....it's one of the worst PC games there is. It's a generic game with only 3-5 weapons in a setting that gets boring really quickly. There is no plot development other then "there is a new thing we need to kill."

FPS's will never have depth of story other then "go kill this, or go kill that."

The closest one that has come to a good story is Syphon Filter.

  • You cannot say Crysis is the "worst PC game there is" when there is MUCH worse dreck out there.

There is more to Crysis's gameplay than what you're giving it. If it's boring to you, why don't you change the way you play it? After all, the missions are laid out so you can do them however you want...

Also, FPSes never having any depth of story? Have you ever played Half-Life? Or System Shock? Those have some pretty fucking good stories if you ask me!

  • I own the whole half life series, and honestly, its FUN. I consider it an FPS/PUZZLE platformer.

And I really don't go to FPS's for storyline, people just don't expect that. Just today I got a PM from another guy who repeated what I just said. "Crysis is more of a benchmarking game." And you are the only one to disagree so far.

  • One guy's opinion doesn't count for the majority, man.

  • By no means are you the only one. As I said, you are the only one to disagree so far.

I've talked a lot to PC gamers, my steam friends, casual gamers and no lifers alike, computer builders, and console gamers. This mixed with my own gameplay experience, we all say it's more of a benchmarking game. The game is sort of generic and lacking a lot.

  • If I Always Play Crysis...Will My Graphics Card Burn Or Take A Damage?

  • I Honestly Don't Know. Depends On Your Video Card.

Also: Stop Talking Like This. Your teacher meant to capitalize the first word in a sentence, not every word in a sentence.

  • Depends on your GPU/CPU and your cooling system.

If you play it on a low end card with poor cooling, then yes. If you play it on a well cooled GTX295 or well cooled 4870X2, then no. You are perfectly fine.

  • You say that, but you've probably never played Crysis.

If you have, it's easily on of the best FPS game out there.

  • I've played it, on Very High DX10 too, so I got the best experience it can offer, and it wasn't that much.

The maps are generic jungle areas for the most part, you use 1 rifle the whole time and keep modifying it, with the exception of a few sidearms/nades. The game gets really stale after the first couple of levels, it's extremely repetitive, and it has a poorly thought out storyline.

  • I wouldn't called the inside of an alien ship or a frozen North Korea generic. I easily used more than one gun. I think the storyline is good, might not be a legendary storyline, but it's not bad.

Also, it's not like the single-player are the only levels. Have you ever been to Crymod? 400+ levels. Ranging from levels like Crysis, to COD, to zombies, to obstacle courses. And probably more that I haven't even discovered yet.

  • I guess one more alien shooter just doesn't cut it for ME. If you like to play those games, that's your choice and I'm not trying to change it. But keep this in mind: No matter what you say you aren't going to change my opinion. I am myself, and no one can change that.

  • Yes yes an opinion is an opinion.

I'm just saying, just like every PC game, there's more to it than just what's on the CD.

  • man wich video card have your computer?

    and RAM?

i played this in my uncle's computer,

even in low quality the image sucks T-T

  • ...It really isn't that pretty.

  • this video does no justice to the game

    blame youtube

  • its strange that it says i need at least 500 mb for ultra quality but i can run it on ultra quality and i have 256mb and my card is ati 3450

  • do ultraquality workon my pc i got intel chipest vido card wic has 128mb memory

  • You'll be lucky to run games from 1997 with that internal video card.

Go to Newegg, search for a 9800GT, and you're set.

  • i had a 128mb video card and i could play it but in the lower quality

  • LOL ULTRA QUALITY???? you ps is shitt man =/

  • The processor means shit in this case, dude. I'm talking about image quality in the video.

  • anyone knows what could be wrong with my pc ..

if i format it i can play crysis etc ..afther 2 weeks i cant even play games like half life 1 anymore :s cause my frames drop too zero almost :s

is there a jumper under the batterie on a assrock motherboard ? cause it feels like if someone stole my jumper lol :s fucking lan parties

  • Are you running it on a Pentium or something? Might be the video card.

  • I hope doo4 waon't suck. I loved this game so much. I think he's going to try to make the next title symilar to doom2.

I prefer the survival horror feel like this doom3 game. I played this 12 times!

  • no one seems to understand this, ultra is a setting for the VIDEOS

  • Ultra is a setting for the videos? Where does it say that?

  • when you select "ultra", you're selecting it from the video settings category

  • Okay, I get what you're trying to say, but there aren't any videos in the game. Pretty sure cutscenes are done in-engine.

Ultra Quality does make a difference, surprisingly enough.

  • all the cutscenes are videos. they are in-engine, but they're pre-rendered.
