  • What size tires do you have on those rims? I bought the same kind but don't know what size to get.

  • @CollegeGearDotCom this isn't my car. I can't remember ;(

  • Tits! Such a badass set of wheels, sounds like a mx bike with that 2stroke

  • Damn it I want one BAD!!

  • Wow! Incredible car. Lovely sound. Brought back fond memories of when I had a 96 2 t over 30 years ago. Thanks!

  • wartburg

  • are these cars front wheel drive or rear?

  • @1990fordf150custom front wheel drive

  • sounds pretty nice to me

  • Sounds like a wartburg

  • Back in the 80's, I had a Honda MB5, 2-stroke, 50cc motorcycle, which for some reason, this SAAB reminds me of (prob the 2-stroke engine). For a 50cc bike, the thing SCREAMED! Was pretty quick, and would hit 60 MPH! It was MORE FUN than the 750cc through 1200cc 'superbikes' i've owned since!

  • Sounds like an F1 car from the 80's!!!!

  • Looks & sounds like a 96 to me. Best car I ever owned!

  • Comment removed

  • sound's like wankel!!

  • that engine needs a wicked expansion pipe. lol that saab is cool either way though.

  • Direct injection two stroke look it up

  • I'm seeing alot of scream and no go here....

  • POWERBAND!

  • sounds like 2 stroke wartburgs

  • @Noszkovonye they have 3 cyl. 2 stroke engines, too, that's why...

  • sounds like a 3 rotor haha ;)

  • how much gas mileage???

  • How much horespower?

  • sounds like a Triumph Street Triple on crack

  • thats a lambo engine!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha, I don't know why, but the sound of these cars makes me laugh, in a good way. They are so cool!

  • HELL FUCKING YEAH!

  • oh god i wish they build new fast and cheap sports cars with 2 stroke engines!

  • ferrari engine?

  • This car is not a saab 96, this car is a Saab 93 750cc 2 stroke

  • @MrN5M no, this is 96 850cc 2 stroke. 96 have a much larger rear window than 93

  • are these rare? i know where one without an engine is and was just wondering

  • @beammark Well here in Denmark, there only on the road in the summer, because its a old car. Here its more rare than a beatle, but I think the beatle is worth more money than the Saab. It also depends on wich year it is. The latere models have a V4 engine, I belive the V4 ford engine took over in the late 60es. The older ones had another front, a shortere one, and they are the one to get. I love this car, my dad had 3 of them, the old 2 stroke, and then a V4 one of the first, and the a newere V4

  • Hahaha awesome. Sounds a lot like the Rotax 600 in my Ski Doo.

    Very cool.

  • man, that thing is old school.. think if you retrofitted it with modern technology. Tuned pipes, better port work, fuel inject(or better carbs), carbon fiber reeds.. ect That thing could hual asss.

  • EPIC!!!!!!

  • and at the time the var was made, it really was fast as hell.

in finland it has a funny name "Taistelusämpylä"

wich is something like: Fighting roll :D in english.

it looks like a bread roll :D

  • that thing sounds fricken sweet!!!

  • DAMN he`s pushing it hard

  • Bet the neighbours love it.

  • @camry6 What's your problem? If you can't appriciate a 2-stroke engine, don't bother commentating. I'm tired of wiseasses like you who just have to comment to show off.. You're also wrong about the reliability issue. Less moving parts makes it more reliable than for example your Honda 750. It' wasn't reliable issues that made Moto GP back away from the concept. You win a lot of horsepower with a full combustioncycle on just one crankshaft lap.

A small fourstroke engine is just a big yawn.

  • @stelin64 they're slower, burn more gas, and all the rest.

  • Aahh, the 2 stroke car.....what were they thinking??!! It is great for a hobby, but not a good idea for mass transportation. Terrible fuel economy, a lot of smoke, a lot of noise, horrible reliability issues.........and the list can go on..............Think about it, if it was a good idea, it WOULD have caught on, and cars today would still be using 2 cycle engines. 2 cycle is great for small engines and sport applications, but not mass public transport. (same goes for the rotary engine!)

  • @camry6 Oh yea, another BIG one............LOUSY torque!

  • @camry6 back then no one cared about the fuel economy! And all of those other things, guess what? NO ONE CARED!

  • Sounds like a rotary with no muffler!!

  • What a beauty...

  • sounds like a really angry bee lol

  • sounds sexy

  • how many cylinder?

  • With 741 cc and 65 hp maybe. :-)

  • @ZEG8704 Propably 52 KM @ 5000 RPM and 93 Nm. @ 3500 RPM or something near to this. 2 stroke has got much more torq. :)

  • @OBcIO911 2 strokes have more torque? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING MY FRIEND HAHAA

  • @DJonX7 Thats because of power stroke every single rotate of crankshaft. But i don't think that you even understant what am i talking about...

  • @OBcIO911 no shit. they're weaker. and ofcourse iknow lmfao

  • @DJonX7 try motorcycle in 125ccm 2T and 4T and then talk. You propably have never drive anything with 2 stroke engine. In lower displacement 2 stroke engines have more power than 4 stroke and nothing is going to change thit. 2T engines are lighter and have more resistant to over-reving because of less moving parts. Ther are not used today because of poor ecologists... The world speed record of 50ccm vehicle was made with 2 stroke engine.

  • @OBcIO911 2 strokes have less power. period. that's why they stopped using them.

  • @DJonX7 You're just so so wrong

  • @abracing199 Yeah they didn't stop using them because they had less power, they did because they polluted too much. especially for the amount of power they push out.

  • @OBcIO911 Yes, it was a Portuguese "Casal", it hit 225 kmph on a 49cc engine, 2 strokes of course. And everybody knows that the 2 strokes are a lot more powerful than a 4.

  • @OBcIO911

you are right 2 stroke engine have more power but worse economy and have a lot of air pollution sorry my bad english, maybe in hungarian :)

  • That is the most beautiful sound.

  • best sound ever !!!!

  • i wish my volvo 850 coulkd sound like that. i want a 96 in the worst way

  • from 0:19 to the end, sounds like a E36 M3 :D Cooooool noise :D:D:D

  • @gadam91aliasSANYI ummm no it doesnt?

  • Sounds like a chainsaw!

  • man i love the sound of a 2 stroke engine

  • What a great sound!

  • scheiße ist das auto geil

  • sounds like a farting car

  • dog dammit i want that car!!!!

  • Sounds nearly like a 2-stroke 3-cylinder Wartburg engine

  • It sounds fast because 2 stroke motors at 5000 rpm sounds like 10,000 rpm for 4 strokes..

  • That is awesome!

  • Hehe, 2-stroke makes you want to rev it, even an old classic gets a good beating :)

Thats the soul of 2-stroke, it feels ALIVE!

  • fuk she is so quick i would love 2 have that car!

  • I love how loud it is but how slow it goes. <3

  • fuck that thing sounds fast!!! to bad its just sound tho, looks kinda slow and funy

  • @solecaliburr thats because its not even a 1.0liter the averagecar is about 1.4 lol

  • @aaronthomasa that, and its old and funy looking

  • Music to my ears... Someday I will own a 93 or 96 bull nose.

  • awesome i love the 2 strokes

  • Excellent Saab !Lets make this simple: for every cylinder A 2 stroke fires once every revolution of the crank, a four stroke every OTHER revolution. Therefore a 2 stroke is smoother (ie 3cyl 2 stroke is as smooth as 6 cyl 4 stroke). Because of the power stroke (firing) on every revolution a 2 stroke is also more torquey. 2 strokes are simpler and less to mainain. They sound higher pitch due to more power strokes AT THE SAME RPM as a 4stroke.

2 strokes engines where used in many applications.

  • if they had huge wheels would a 2stroke be quite fast and kind of efficiant

  • @aaronthomasa Nah, a 4 stroke is more efficient, unless they could make somekind of leanburned 2 stroke, with somekind of valvesystem.

  • Fantastic!

    5*

  • härligt ljud

  • sound like a Wankel

  • EPIC!!!!!!

I dont care for saab's at all.

But this is awsome on a hole new level!

  • It's sounds like a wankel engine.

  • why the hell would you want a 2 stroke car they have less tourque than the 4 stroke , there not as reliable, and just not as clean i understand most 2 strokes give a much higher rpm range but i dont know just dont sound like a good idea .... but i do like the exhaust note ....

  • @wenel1291 less torque than a 4 stroke? 2 stroke engines are all about torque dude

  • true that would be good in racing as long as its a small track but what about drag racing horse power counts big in a drag race .... its good to get off the line fast but what about keeping ahead .... lets not forget diesels also produce lots of tourque ...2 strokes produce low end tourque due to the face the motor only rotates twice to combust the gasoline ...

  • diesels have a higher compression however ... 4 strokes give better horsepower none the less .... but at the same time 2 strokes rev higher ... so depending on what your doing or race type either one could be bad ....

  • @wenel1291 finally someone with knowlege on youtube, you have all great points, it really depends on what youre looking for in an engine, as far as dirtbikes go tho, 2 stroke all day, but for a car in a drag race id take a 4 stroke setup, in a small track with lots of twists a 2 stroke would be preferable due to the speed they can produce out of the corners, a diesel setup however is mostly applied for hauling or for thick muddy tracks as they produce massive torque at low rpm

  • also alot of it depends on the gear ratio you use in your tranny to put the power out to the wheels

  • @wenel1291

    Not as reliable?!

How can a simpler engine with fewer moving parts be LESS reliable?

  • @spiritofthewolf15x Not as reliable because of the constant winged-out high RPMs + poor lubrication = not a good combination!

  • @camry6

There is this thing called a mix ratio, if you get it right, than you don't have this "poor lubrication" thing you speak of.

  • @spiritofthewolf15x Haha! I know about the "Mix Ratio", but I mean the poor lubrication comes from the lack of oil bathing under pressure to all bearing surfaces (pressure lubrication) such as the system used in four-strokes. Two strokes only rely on a misting of oil vapor found in the gas vapor charge as it flows through the engine, without pressure. This is MUCH less effective lubrication compared to the four-stroke pressure lubrication. Throw in high RPMs, and you've got reliability issues!

  • @camry6 You should have worked for Suzuki back in the seventies! Then they wouldn't have bothered making 2 strokes that would clock up a hundred thousand kilometres and more. Ball and roller bearings are perfectly content with fuel/oil mist, by the way.

  • I had heard back in 1967 that these three cylinder two stroke Saabs were fast. I was driving a new GTO at the time. One day I came up to a stop light along side one of these two strokes, so I decided to find out how fast. On light change I got on the goat in first, didn't smoke the tires but wound it out in first about 45 mph expecting to see the Saab in my rear view mirror. Wasn't there! Looked left and he was right along side. Hit second and wound out to about 65, Saab still there! Are fast

  • i did have one of those fun things :)

  • Hahahaa, sounds like a sportscar, awesome hahaa :D

  • AHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

  • Love it! We had one in NYC TIMES SQUARE SAAB SUPPORT CONVOY, it was awesome, a real head turner!!!!

  • Pieknie, same Saaby zaparkowane :D

  • OMG! AWESOE!

  • Sounds FANTASTIC

  • ej to jest w Kańczuce :D obczajam to miejsce, od dziecka jak tam jeździlem to zawsze patrzylem sie na te samochody po drodze :D

    BTW. pieknie chodzi !

  • you gotta buy race sparks :D

  • sounds awesome!

  • Very nice! Thank you for sharing. Seems even faster than my 1963 Saab 96 Sport.

  • mmmmm 2 stroke smoke.

  • Vackert.

  • 38 horse is kinda weak though, but it sounds mean.

rather have my 65 horse banshee engine in it.

  • Beautiful.

  • so nice.

  • Saab 4ever! Swedish classics!

  • i wish i had a 2 stroke car!!

  • @586guest2 same here

  • @6013welder im thinking of importing a trabant, its the cheapest option. or i might get a vespa ape car, or hell i could convert a 68 beetle and throw a rotax 450 in it!!!

  • @586guest2 the trabant sounds awesome lol but how much is it im in canada so i dont know if ican get it for under 5000 when i grow up if not ill just get a 4 stroke

  • @6013welder go with a 4 stroke for your first car, im in canada to and im curently driving my first car, its a 84 skylark and yeah its a beater but a trabant would not be a good first car. i dont think any 2 stroke car would be a good first car but more of a hobby! and ive looked into it and you can easily get a trabant under 5k but importing it will cost 3 arms and legs

  • @586guest2 i was thinking going with a 4 stroke as my first but after ill take out the engine and drop the trabant engine engine engine there is no way it will pass emissions testing though i was thinking taking a tabant 2 stroke car engine and making a dune buggy that would be awesome

  • @6013welder where are you in canada? where i am if the car is a 1987 or older it doesnt need emissions, my current 4 stroke car hasnt had a cat in over a year

  • @586guest2 I wish I had a two stroke GIRL :)

  • Cool sound! Lovely!
