  • dude your like this works so well you cant even catch a coon

  • if u cant catch a stupid coon u suck

  • nice video, be shure to check out some of my trappin videos to

  • Put som sardines around ur coon traps and tie the sticks in almost a triangle but tie them together so they can't knock them down

  • get a colony trap for the musk rats or put a foottraps in there trails

  • i would reccommend a dirt sifter, or dp coon traps.

  • In colder weather you can expect to have slow moving animals. Cold Snaps here in Manitoba suck! You have empty traps until mid day when it warms up. Not trying to make a joke out of you here like some people are, but try covering your traps over some so the animal can't see it.

Some animals will turn there nose if they see the sun reflect off of the shine of the metal. If they are legal in cold weather conibears in cubby's or buckets work better...

  • take a five gallon bucket put the bait in the back of it bed your trap stake it firmly and come back the next day and youll have a coon

  • are u shur u dont wanna ask me questions

  • NEW TITLE- Fox Toys and Coon Feeders

  • you would catch somehting if you:

1: solidly bedded the right traps

2: made dirt holes, cubbies, or pvc sets, or DP's for coon instead of using sticks

3: wore rubber boots, a pair of gloves, and at least boil and wax or dip your traps

4: get some store made lure that is made for the job

5: stake your coon traps, a long cable or wire will let the coon climb a tree or grab brush and pull out

6: read some trapping books, watch some videos, and look up how to trap online

  • dont listen to what anyone says...the only way u learn how to trap is doing it yourself. ive been trapping for 16 years and have done really good. you r your best teacher bud

  • dude heres a few tips

1.dig a trap bed put your trap in and sift dirt over your trap

    2.where gloves and rubber boots

    3.use store bought lure

4.dont be afraid to dig a dirthole every once in a while

ps.if you would have bedded your trap you would have had a fox on that blind set

  • There is no way you are going to catch a fox like that

  • you need to lkook up some other videos on trappin go learn how to trap. i give u credit for trying but its not worth the time if u dont know whats going on. u need to dog a hole at the top of ur set to put ur bait in. not a big hole but small enough that coons would rather come from front. adngle it a bit so they cant get to it from side vare good.

  • wow i'm years younger then you yet i can trap i have couple rats mink fox and alot of coon in first couple days of the season and whats the point of the sticks on side of coon trap duh they are going to knock them over thats just common sense you need to watch videos on youtube to find out how to trap

  • Learn to trap moron bet ur traps where you "miss" then (Why do you say miss, you have no chance) put a second trap or a snare and also do what MrMcnasty said that is the only way you will catch anything. Oh and on your coon lines how are you not catching any you have perfect traps just kidding try a dirthole or flat set. Don't even try for fox until i see a video where you catch 6 coons a day don't even try fox you are just educating them making it harder for real trappers to catch them.

  • Mabey you would Catch somtin if....

    1.You used rea bait

    2.Got coni bears

    3. Bucket Sets

    4. Dontuse those dam sticks it dint work usea natraul funnel

    5. Heres A good traping web site....

  • wow you really need to learn how to trap! everything you are doin is wrong read a book!

  • @detectingupstate If hecant trap a coon hes not getting a fox

  • you will b alot more successful if you use a dirt hole set

  • hey. if ur gunna trap muskrat i recomend walking the river, study the tracks and find the food banks and dens, kut a small hole in the bank where theyre at and put a sweet apple slice in or on top, set a connibare if the apple is ion the hole if on top use a size one leghold

  • I hope you got some body to teach you about trapping properly ..first off..rubber boots and gloves wouldve helped...=) second as was already brought up learn to cover your traps properly..=) good luck and keep trapping..

  • dude, ive watched a couple of your vids and read the coments and all i gotta say is ppl are assholes. ignore those dick heads and keep doin what you do. as long as your having a good time its all good.

  • On the trail, I would set a snare, a 8 inch snare 8-10 inches off the ground should work snare work better on trails than traps do, but I live in a totaly different area too. Looks like you got a good line goin, good to see other kids trappin! Good luck. Maybe for your fox trap, bed them in the dirt or cover them with some leaves or something. also get some fox urine, spray it behind the trap and it should get em a little want to also, use smaller stepping sticks, maybe the size of your thumb.

  • i have read some people bitchin about softcatch but down here where they run fox and coyot if there is anything wronge with a foxes or coyotes legs they wont buy themso soft catch are the best bet

  • could you make a video on how to make a fox bait

  • could you make a video on how to make a fox bait

  • #2 victor is too big for fox

  • you should die your traps

  • wow kid! not to be mean but ur bad at trappin. you need to make a drit hole set for the foxs and because ur trap is set off dont mean you missed a fox or coon it could be that a deer set them off and for your coon traps try this i saw the stream put the traps in the water and make a 3 by3 hole thats about 8 to 12ins deep and put a chincking wing in the hole and put some little sticks in the hole so it makes the coons work the trap longer. if you want to know more fine me on face book

  • dude its relly not that hard if the ground is froze just dig a hole and cover with leavs that will work 4 coon but 4 fox go wit a dirt hole set

  • You have no business setting any traps because you don't know wtf you are doing. Put them away and take a trappers ed class or at least get some books or videos!

  • your fox traps are being set off.. try some connies and see what happends

  • he needs alot more than better bedding, staking, etc. he needs a whole new everything. i would send him some trappin books but the dude might steal em...lol

  • @angiecoombs

softcatch does not matter dude. But thats is a reason, you didnt get the fox in this video, you gotta bed it man. Also use a better staking system forfox

  • complete idiot ill make u a video. y the hell arent u using soft catch and bedding ur traps

  • fuck soft catch and fuck you dont ghive in to pettas bullshit

  • u want succses have a reall trapper show u wat to do

  • fox can see the trap. bed it!!!

  • The "something" that knocked over the sticks was probably a coon. Next time try bedding your trap, and if u want to put something at the sides to keep it from coming that way, try using a big rock on either side, and also try turning your trap so the animal will step across the ears instead of across the jaws. Keep it up. For pointers check out mmoutdoors.

  • WOW you might actualy catch something if

    1. you bed your traps

    2. you cover your traps

    3. you control your scent

    4. you use the right traps

    5. use some good bait, cuz your homemade shit aint workin.

  • rite on

  • yeah ur right except #11 or good for coons

  • @MrMcnastyxx haha yea it just mite work if he did that. lol he said hes havin a slow couple days. lol

  • @MrMcnastyxx i agree with with you. no shit you dont catch anything

  • cover your traps better.

  • You don't need to when your trapping.

  • i just started my trapline yesterday, late start but i got a coon this morrning but im pist to find it was killed by dogs

  • dont listen to him he has no clue wat hes doin

  • good job putting the trap between the two sticks never seen it before, im also trying to get a fox, would you know of any good food baits that would still stink when half frozen, im trapping in snow and the biats freeze, and how do you find where the foxes are coming from? like finding their den, could make a dirt hole set video for fox please? thanks:)

  • if i where you id get some snares..i live in michigan and snares are the way 2 go

  • Skunk Fat makes an excellent bait because It takes a lot to freeze it.

and it smells strong no matter how cold it is. also try using coffe ground filters to cover your triggers it will blend with the snow and keep it from falling underneath.

  • Uncovered traps for fox? You defiantly have to be the dumbest trapper I've saw in my whole life. You never had a fox in those traps. They saw them, flipped up the loose jaw, set it off, and then laughed at your dumb ass.

  • snares work well ,thats what i use .i put mine on the top of a hedge or ditch so that when they get snared they get tired fast because they have to run up and down trying to gat away + their own weight will kill them because the snare is on a ditch :)Here in Ireland tho there wouldnt be loads of foxes where i live so i would only get 3 -5 in a month :- / but therse enough for me to get :D Im a young trapper to Only 15 .

  • You need to use dirt hole sets for fox. Cover the traps with dirt for the coon and fox, and stabilize them good. use a dirt hole set for coon, too. That way they have to work the set to get the bait.

  • dude use a snare where the fox goes into the brush dont use a foot hold in that shit.... use a snare at the tunnel on both sides

  • hey man use a better backing and tuck ur bait up under it so they gota work at it and dust ur trap in dry dirt coons dont care about scent so it doesnt matter wat dirt ise a rock as a backing and bigger logs as ur side

i am a young trapper if u need any help email me

  • Do you check your trapline's daily?

  • Alright Thanks

  • nice vid bud the only thing is dont bed the traps soo deep and cover them with box sifted dirt and dont listen to the dick down there he probly aint even a trapper

  • for muskrats try a baited set with apples on there slides

  • make snares and set them inthe "im a junior trapper too" go to my channel i 'll help

  • I Can't Dig The Ground Because Its Frozen

  • @RedneckPark You should get or make a hammer with a piece of leaf spring welded on top. Even using the claw on any hammer should be able to chip yourself out a trap bed. Get some dry dirt before season starts to cover your traps with after bedding it. Keep it up though, you've got a start and looks like plenty of ambition!

  • @RedneckPark use a picking tool

  • @RedneckPark you are a dumb kid, dont make any more trapping vids until you learn how to trap. check out my channel if you would like to see what a trap looks like with an animal in it.

  • if you have a younger sister maybe she could do it for ya.

  • u need to get a shovel and dig a hole a bit bigger than ur foothold trap about 2in. deep, stake them down in the ground then take a sive and put ur dirt on top just make sure there is no rocks or dirt under the pan also while on youtube look up how to make a dirt hole set and watch a few videos but still ur doin a good job im a young trapper to only 14

  • no problem let me know if you catch more with it or if it doesnt work for you but it works for me

  • Thanks!

  • Remember to put a mound of hay in the middle where your stakes are and lightly dust your other traps with the hay good luck

  • Well look for some flat land and an edge of a field like a good coyote set. Well you want to drive in 2 traps. one on one side and one on the other. Then you put a mound of hay where your stakes are. you dont have to dig a hole to bed your trap. You can but you dont have to. Then just put enough hay over the traps to cover them. Put your favorite lure in the top of the big mound. Then your done it looks sorta like this o--ll--o the o's are the trap the - are the drags and the l's are the stakes

  • Could You Explain A Hay Set?

  • You schooled a fox or 2 foxes but thats ok like i said on another video hay set. And if it snows the hay sets even better it catches the foxes eye. You vids are good though

  • look it up online if you've never seen it, then the fox thinks they've found another fox food. good luck keep up on the video, im guessing your from pa?

  • first of all for the coons use nice big logs as your guide logs, dig a little hole for the bait, and if its snowing find some dirt from a ant hill or something take in inside and sift it, then dig a spot out for your trap and sift the dry dirt over it, that also works great for the fox, also, i notice your not using bait for your fox, mice, chicken rabit, any small animal works great just us smaller guide sticks and dig a nice, whole fox will dig a whole and burry their food, look it up

  • u should put leaves over the traps

  • Right Now I'm Using Snow Since There's A Lot Around Here.

  • if youre afraid of your traps freezin up on you, use woodshavings or crushed nut hulls, they wont freeze and take some of the scent away from the set as well. if you try this, im sure it will increase you catch. happy trappin.

  • I Know but The Ground Is Frozen Now

  • @RedneckPark ur bait works i used cat food instead

  • dude ur spost 2 pretty much bury the footholds...otherwise they will c it and u will have alot more succes if u bury ur footholds

  • I've Tryed Sardines. But I've Never Had Success.

  • I use either sardines or mackerel to bait coons, is that okay.

  • Alright Thanks Man

  • on the muskrats just find some runs and if the water is clear enough look for holes in the bank. I use connibears for them. and when u set on a muskrat run kinda build some brush around the trap so they don't go around

  • Yea Im Going Out Tomorrow (First Snow Fall) & Redoing Everythig

  • you should probably try covering your traps by burrying them in a shallow hole. like the other guys said use your gloves

  • Yea My Uncle Is A Trapping "Expert" He's Comming Soon To Help Me. Im Going To Make Pocket Traps & Some 220 box Sets. Also I Always Forget Gloves when I Check Traps But I Use them When I Reset them

  • if you made some pocket sets at that creek for them coon your catch numbers will be alot higher. also useing 220 box sets with some loud smelling bait like fish or some other home made bait that really stinks will work very well. also for them fox on them trails i would use snares if you have any . i see you were not wearing rubber gloves you should be useing them fox have very good nose on them .

  • Thank You. I Always Forget Gloves when I Check my Traps but When I Fix them I Use Gloves.

  • I like your videos, but a few comments: handle your traps with gloves, it will keep your scent off of them. also, try dirtsetting your traps. If you set them into a shallow hole and cover with peat moss or loose dirt, you will improve your chances of catching your fur bearers.

  • Just A .22. I'm Shooting The Animals Up Close Anyways.

  • what are you using for a gun?
