I’m happy with my 325i, but the only performance mods are sport suspection and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 9HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!
-Adds 9HP average
-Never replace filter again (uses K&N filter)
-GREAT SOUND
-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.
that is excellent throttle control, nice slow drift i tried that with my 316i not enough power so i gave it some more, roundabout + rain+ bald rear tyres+ collapsed rear suspension = e30 hitting kerb with busted control arm:(
i have an open diff in my '91 318is. on the original sways and shocks i can get it pretty slideways. its amazing the amount of handling ability these cars have. they dont leave much room for error, tho
Is 318is e30 good for drift? I'm between 318is e30(putting an lsd rightaway) and a corolla AE86. Which would be better for DRIFT? Note that i'm a BMW fan but i love hachi-roku too
I know this was a long time ago and you probably even made your mind up but an e30 is alot cheaper than an AE86 since the corolla is high in demand yet lacking in supply.
They are a bit noisy if you mean wind and engine noise. Mine doesn't make any strange noises like rattles at all.. (but mine has just 130.000km so it's still spanking new ;) héhé
by noises i mean panel/trim vibrations.. panel squishes and rattles..not exterior/engine noises..
I own a mk2 Golf GTI and it has noises in the interior trim that drive me mad..like the seats clicking.. the dash making noises.. back panels squishing in every corner..and in every speed bum the whole thing sounds like if its falling apart.. they dont fall apart but it drives me mad
Yeah, mine is still perfect inside, no rattles, pieces falling apart, the interior quality is superb for a 20 year old car, I've even read several times in the press that it's one of the best-built bmw ever... Stepping into my parens' peugeot 306 is a world of difference! However I've had quite a few things to change with my car, the 318is feels strong but fairly prone to tiny failures here and there, you have to pay attention to its health, i think a new radiator is due...
yes.... well i had a 318is in the later e36 shape... and they are bad for internal trim noise. glovebox especially in mine, but dont be put off because it can be fixed easily with padding or rubber pads etc, its just body roll... plus remember the e36 brought in z-axle rear suspension, a little harder to drift in this way as it naturally does not want to oversteer.

I'm thinking maybe performance exhaust, but eh.

Clean ride! Just one question, can you drift like that when the roads dry? Its hard as balls.
MrJenkem 3 years ago
Thanks!
On dry roads it's almost impossible with good tires, not enough power and without LSD. ;)
