  • I have a rather good plan, as I adore alvises (is that the plural?) i have a plan, as i already have a te21 waiting in the garage ( only 3 more years till i can drive!) there is a slight problem though, as insurers don't like to insure above 1.6 litres-i have a plan to fit a John cooper works engine from a mini into it (it produces 210 horsepower) and then i will have the brilliance of the alvis-with an engine that is econamical and i can actully insure. - but will it fit?~anyone know?

  • An absolutely fabulous car. It is good to see it being driven properly, too. Thank you for posting what must be one of the best Youtube car videos.

  • @thatsmethatis Thanks for the compliment. Since I made the video I changed my mind and did give the car a bare metal respray, but I left the interior alone.

  • I was going to tell you to shut up with your "posh" accent. But because of the speedo trick that shows you have a brain... Your an allright guy with a cool car. my freind has an Alvis TD21 Coupe. Sound's great. Am i right in thinking the inline 6 is an aeroplane engine?

  • @adamswindells1

Actually the straight 6 is a car engine. They did make a plane engine but it was a 9 cylinder radial. Can't help the accent, you grow up speaking like those around you. Glad you like the car. I think the coupe is better looking than the convertible, which is usually the case, but I had never owned a convertible so wanted to try it (unless you count the 2CV).

  • @adamswindells1 God i remember bieng sat in the back of a 2CV with its roof down on a motorway. not somthing to enjoy. but i think that counts but you still have full sides on the vehicle on a 2CV. YEah my buddy has 2 Alvis's TD21 & a TE21 Coupe. thats going into restoration but its in pretty sound condition anyway. not a spot of rust on the body suprisingly.

  • Janet can't wait to drive the Alvis on those beautiful roads- "Is it like my Micra?"
