@mjbitz it's called shallow focus, there is usually a little dial on the camera that you turn and you can make it focus on things in the foreground, the background or just focus on everything :)

@mjbitz it's always going to fade, but it depends on the aperture of the lens. the lower the aperture, the more blurry everything in the back. I assume she could be shooting with Canon's 50mm 1.4 lens. 1.4 is for aperture.
