Osewa ni narimashita [お世話になりました] is an expression used to thank someone for their help or favors done for you over a considerable period of time.

While it wouldn't be incorrect per se, "osewa ni narimashita" wouldn't be used for a quick favor but something more involved. So if it was a continuous help over a period of time, e.g. you stayed at their home for several days, you would use "osewa ni narimashita".

Yeah, I was told the same but I've seen it used in action after people -- especially people doing business -- having only talked on the phone a couple of times. It made me raise an eyebrow the first time I saw it used that way, but now I see it's quite common.

Oh Man, when I saw the thumbnail I thought you were wearing a pope hat. That would have been so cool. But no. It was a crown. Which is ok, but let's face it, it's no pope hat.
