I remember myself renting this game for a weekend when i was 8 back in the 90's, i already had a Genesis, but i still used my NES a lot. I Remember i played this game and then saw "The Crow" lol. And i also remember my face of satisfaction after beating this game, it was hardcore.
ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES OF ALL TIME!!!! DIFFICULTY, MUSIC, IT WAS INNOVATIVE. I LOVED THIS GAME AS A KID. THEY DONT MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USED TO.STILL TO THIS DAY I HAVE NEVER BEAT IT. SF2010!!! I REMEMBER I USED TO WONDER WHAT LIFE WOULD BE LIKE IN 2010. WHERE ARE THE CYBER SUITS DAMMIT!!
Top-notch. Absolute mastery. I've come close a few times, but usually fall apart by the last stretch. Sad, because I can handle the first 4 pretty flawlessly. I'll have to give this a serious go again in 2010.
i remember i was like 4 or 5 when i played this game, i only got to the first part of the sand stage. couldnt beat it after that and my brother sold the game. grrrr great game though
Me too. But now I brought SF2010 to some justice. I bought the game last week, and can't stop playing. Now I think I've mastered it, but to the this video level. Player is a real master on this game!
I'm glad that you also appreciate this great and underrated game, laundrybox :).
The next Street Fighter 2010 video that shincyriades and I are working on will be a comparison piece between the original Famicom release and the game that we were given in North America. Hopefully you can read Japanese, because I sure can't :).
Daniel T's performance here is quite precise, and took some practice. But definitely an interesting run, and hopefully it will inspire others to attempt similar things, even if in other games!
No, other than the title, both games have nothing in common, Kaveeteh. Ken was not the protagonist's original name, it was Kevin, but the games producers thought that by changing his name, it would perhaps fool Street Fighter fans into believing that this was some kind of futuristic sequel involving Ken.
Had Capcom not made this move, I believe that Street Fighter 2010 would have had a greater impact. People would likely not have compared/associated it to Street Fighter II anyway.

Now i wonder whether if that's really Ken Masters. Cos if it is don't you think the chick at the end could be Eliza his "wife" from the sf2 series?
immaculate15 2 years ago
I think not, cause japan version the character's name is Kevin Strider...

This is a tough game, and I can tell you spent some hours mastering this game. Good job.
But I must say, even for NES standards, that ending SUCKED!

damn only if they continued the game, oh how I miss playing it lol. I just might do so right now!
I used to hate this game as a kid because it was irrelevant to street fighter, but now I gotta admit, GAME IS DEFINITELY UNDERRATED
