For nostalgia purposes you can't beat them but if I lived in Suthern region I would want tham everyday. I live in central Scotland where 170s and 158s rule the tracks, although it is predicatble and boring i wouldn't even think about changing them for 101s and 107s. well baybe for one day:)

Ok here we go...
1) New trains my arse.
2) Who doesn't like trying to read the observer between two fat ladies on a VEP?
3) The seats used to be more comfortable even if the ride was worse.
4) The new trains are sterile and horrible and are a celebration of man made materials. No tree has been cut down to make a 377/450
BUT before I had any interest in trains I couldn't wait for those damn slam doors to go...
