  • ogni commento sarebbe superfluo, ma il modo con cui "tira" la coda del notturno mi ha lasciato semplicemente...senza fiato! Non lo toglierò mai dalla mia bacheca FB.

  • don't remove this video forever please

  • Thank you for all the comments! Rubinstein was genious!

  • @RodrigoDocumentarios Thanks to you Rodrigo :-)

  • @RodrigoDocumentarios Rubinstein was a genius indeed, but that makes Franz Liszt a god!

  • now WE are hearing it with scratches

  • I would want to hear this without scratch too.

  • AWESOME!

  • Take me to Paradise!

  • Rubinstein is a true master of this piece

modern pianists like yundi li and evgeny kissin play with much romanticism but very little nobility

not to mention the fake emotion of Lang Lang's interpretation which is oversentimental - one of the worst things in music making

  • Sorry if this seem stupid, but what does he mean by without a scratch?

  • @elitex111 The recording was on a vinyl record. When a record is played, a needle gets placed on it, and, after the record has been played often enough, the needle will start to scratch the record. After a record has been scratched, when it is played again, you will hear a popping noise when the needle reaches the scratched part.

  • @elitex111 I think he meant, that he heard the recording on a gromophone record, and the sound probably wasnt as clear. Correct me if Im wrong, but that should be the anwser to your question!

  • Fantastic!!! He really was a GENIUS!!! In my opinion, ANOTHER fantastic version of this piece is played by Alicia de Larrocha. Her early 60's recording can be found on Youtube . I trully recomend it.

  • theres still scratch

  • Absolutely the BEST!

    That is true piano playing!

    Sara

  • i like how he just knows that shit by heart

  • @Duskworker Yes...he certainly did "know that shit by heart". He had a helluva big heart and knew a lotta shit.

  • too bad he wasn't able to play it without scratch...

  • the old sound give something extra to the song. Lovely!

  • The best at the piano playing the best from Liszt. Runinstein is a virtuoso and more than listen he makes you "feel" the melodie...

  • This is truly Liebestraum without a scratch.

  • Fantástico.

  • This is the best interpretation!!!

  • Rubinstein didn't do it right, because obviously we can still hear "scratch"

  • li yundi or this guy?

  • @twang15 love both

Even though yundi is young, his skills are far superior to many experienced pianists.

Personally, I think Rubinstein has more control and really understands the music. It'll take a while for yundi li to get to that level.

  • @irvineworld i don't think there's any "level." it's funny how you think he "understands" the music better...

  • @vulnerableadolescent level in terms of experience, expertise

not entirely subjective to say he understands music better, for most expert pianists and piano forums highly regard rubinstein as one of the most legendary pianists out there

althought I do respect your opinion (sad face)

  • @irvineworld

Musical understanding is a matter of the brain.......... and its not funny how @irvineworld thinks that he understands the music better, because he does! however in terms of the use *level* can be debatable, a more appropriate word would be More experiance or expertise..... as he said later on and in regard to my previous comment Artur Rubinstein IS, not highly regarded as a piano lengendary

  • @irvineworld

i completly agree that Artur Rubinstein has more understanding and control of hands, but consider that he is approximatly (i could be wrong) 5 times older than Yundi, but this subject is to debate, also consider that Yundi succeeded at a very young age, lets compare Artur and Yundi when they were at the same age...!

  • first time i seen a video with 0 dislikes!!!!!!!!!

  • This is real music.

  • Shame we heard it with the scratch :(

  • amazing how he doesn't even need to look at the keys

  • @blueperegrine they'd have recorded the sound seperatly silly haha

  • @blueperegrine and he's reading the music

  • its so good!

  • hermosa canción, amo esa melodía

  • See? That guy at the very end looks like he is crying because of how beautiful this song is and how he plays it ~ wow, this just takes everything away, I really am grateful for him ! wow

  • This is perfection in the form of music !

  • Breathtaking! R.I.P Arthur Rubinstein

  • Beautiful!

  • Sublime; increadible, fantastic, superb, brilliant, excellent, fenomenal, exquiste, heavenly, godly.

This is the most beautiful piece in the world being played by the most talented pianist in the world. The loss of such a noble person is truely a great loss to this world

  • Hermoso !!!. Preguntale a Franco si en castellano es "Sueño de amor". Emocionante lo de Gardel.

  • Exquisite, all that can be said.

  • THE TUNE TOUCHES MY HEART !!

  • Oh, God! How I love this!

    Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!

  • Beautiful! He makes piano sing ! That´s the way it is...

  • ç_ç we love you Mr Rubinstein.
