Phaneuf plays Regehr and scorers like Cammalleri and Iggy, Chara plays with Wideman who is also about +30 because they have guys like Lucic, Kessel, Savard, Wheeler, Krejci, etc., Lidstrom plays with Datsyuk (best defensive forwards), Zetterberg, Hossa, Kronwall, Rafalski..
All of them win like 1 or 1.5 million less than Komisarek and they all have more points than Komi will probably ever have. Sorry you didn't convince me.

As a fan of Leafs watching them lose and come close the last 15 years, I know for sure that offencive defenceman don't work in that city (as you're aware playing in Toronto or Montreal is different than playing in Pitts/Detroit). When they were good, they had Dave Ellet way back, then Yuskevich and Danny Markov, since Kaberle, McCabe and Kubina they have been trash with OFD's.

The Leafs didn't sign Komisarek to get points.. If he was a great shutdown player and got 0 pts the leafs would be extremely happy. They're building through defense and goaltending, they don't need him to score 20 goals.

and no, +/- doesn't really show how good a player is defensively. Luke Schenn was -12 and he's amazing defensively.. Obviously when you're going to have a bad +/- if you're going up against the team's best players every night.
Look at some of the worst +/- players this year, Pahlsson, Moen, Witt, Draper, Phillips, Brind'Amour.. all great players defensively.

First of all, we didn't give to Gomez 7 millions, the Rangers do. We only got his salary in the trade thats all. And yes the +/- really show the defensive aspect of a player. How can you explain that great defensmen like Chara, Lidstrom, Phaneuf and Markov, they all got an incredible +/-? Yes they are offensive, but they collect most of their point in the PP, so it dosent work. By the way, all the players you name had a shitty season so yes it correctly show how you play defensively.

No they didn't, they're all players who focus on defense. Players like Moen and Pahlsson mostly play against the opponents top FWs (at least they did when i watched anaheim) so obviously they're going to have a bad +/-.
Phaneuf plays Regehr and scorers like Cammalleri and Iggy, Chara plays with Wideman who is also about +30 because they have guys like Lucic, Kessel, Savard, Wheeler, Krejci, etc., Lidstrom plays with Datsyuk (best defensive forwards), Zetterberg, Hossa, Kronwall, Rafalski..
