None of these tutorial videos help me because my utility doesn't want to actually browse the drives I have connected. Everything just shows up blank. I see drive letters, and a flash drive with the .bin is plugged in but no luck. Any suggestions?
the flash drive must be formatted in FAT 16/32, not NTFS. And must have only 1 partition on it. .bin? I think it should be a .rom! (not zipped and better with a name of max 8 chars)
Another question... I have a dual boot with XP and Windows 7. Is the BIOS update OS specific? XP and Win 7 are not affected by the update since it is motherboard ralted and not OS software related, correct? Thanks again!!
I have an Asus M4A79 Deluxe with, I believe, the original BIOS. There have been multiple (8 to 10) BIOS updates since release addressing various issues. Is it best and/or necessary to update every update (in the order of release) or can I just use the most recent update? Is the most recent "all inclusive"? Thanks very much!
@gmomax2 Double check that all things inside are plugged in by sata connectors and have power.
Another thing is that USB drives can sometimes screw up the detection and take over so if you don't need the usb drive plugged in I would suggest that you unplug it before going into the bios and then plug it in later once you get it going.

@ChristianRG2000 i think you mean you want to overclock your gtx560..you don't need the bios to do that..
just download MSI after burner, but be sure you know what you are doing..

@gmomax2 You won't have any issue with dual booting after the bios update it will have no effect on any windows files.
The newest bios from asus includes all the fixes from the past so you don't need to update through each one.
You will probably have to set your boot priority and stuff up again after the bios flash because it usually returns everything to factory default.
