i do not like what this country is becoming. The people of our country are no longer citizens with rights they are customers with money. We are no longer kept safe by a police force that makes our safety is sole purpose, instead we are monitored by Private CCTV security companies whose sole interest is profit. The NHS, the post office and our public services are being sold off at auction. As for terrorism I celebrate terrorism on the 5th of november every year as does every one in britian.

If this Country suffers another Terrorist attack, I'm pretty sure that most people in this Country would support this 42 days detention.

My argument is this, which would you prefer? a 42 day detention, implimented ONLY if nessicary, which I might add has to be sanctioned by a High Court Judge, who WILL have to see signicant evidence before allowing a full 42 day without charge detention or Mr. Brown annoucing to the Commons that we suffered another attack, and didn't have enough time?

Well the mainland managed to survive 25-odd years of active IRA campaigns without the need for a 28-day pre-charge law, let alone a 42-day one.

Since you've asked a direct question, I would rather a freer society where we treat all people farily even at the slightly increased risk of a terrorist attack (which is still extremely low anyway). So, yes, I am against 42 days (and 28 for that matter). You /cannot/ just lock people up without charge in a supposedly respectable and progressive society.

irish persons had this problem of questioning during the troubles,any country with terrorism will have people questioned either due to the same religion, group etc.Until islamic terrorism stops, and people stop trying to set devices off here then it will be that faith targeted more, there is no point in questioning chinese people, for example.When they caught that terrorist whose device failed on the tube, he asked about his rights, he has none.Communities here need to root them out.

There is nothing wrong with the 42 day detention period, if more devices go off in the uk then people would soon complain, and i am sure all those who want it reduced would soon want it increased if they got injured.If you are taken in for questioning and released then that is just the luck of the draw.How else are we meant to root out terrorists, without certain measures.Shami you are quite annoying jumping on the bandwagon for all sorts of issues.Anytime an issue like this happens u r there.
