  • is this what is described as a proton rocket ? in any whay yes is a very clean launch, cool.

  • @whoquiensabe This is a Soyuz. The proton is another one.

  • looks comfy

  • А потом у нас в Шыме дождь идет)

  • at 0:34 it looks animated

  • @TheSemperfiusmc lol, it does but thats just how rocket flames look like when they take off.

  • ctrl W to skip adds

  • much cleaner launch than the space shuttle

  • This really looks better than space shuttles

  • A beautiful machine!

  • I am glad that the original ICBM technology is applicated for exploring the space for ALL OF US. The fact that this is Russian (because Russia has more advanced rocket tech than USA) is a very good one - the day when USA and Russia launched their mutual space program should be honored as a day of peace.

The quarrels between russians and americans about who is better are futile now. And I believe that because they know each other well, they will be great allies in future, respecting each other.

  • @ValpurgiusDeBragga Very well put. I don't think I could say it any better myself!

  • nice

  • who else came here because of black ops???

  • @jokerx400 meeee

  • @jokerx400 Nobody.

  • wow such as simple design.

Once the US is done with the Space Shuttle Program they should really consider developing a rocket similar to this. It is small, and seems fuel efficient.

  • @mclaine33 how the fuck would u know if its fuel efficient

  • @dondaraper

when did i ever ask you that question? I said it look fuel efficient compared to the Space Shuttle.

    I wasn't ask a question though.

  • i could blow that up with my ray gun!

  • @harrypter123 While I like zombies. Try to learn sometihng will ya?

  • These vehicles have always been a great example of efficency and superb engineering. They get the job done and quite nicely as well,.

    Respect from Apache Junction, Arizona.

  • then it'll get blown up by valkyrie rocket

  • soyuz is so nice to look at no smoke a nice flame out the back and i never saw one crashing (i did with the amarican ones instaid.....)

  • @soverato3

The Soyuz is a very reliable rocket, but there were some failures:

    watch?v=Hl9u-h_btBo

    watch?v=UyFF4cpMVag

The second one was manned, but the launch escape system managed to get the spacecraft away from the exploding rocket and the crew was saved.

However, the Proton rocket is not that reliable and had some failures during the last years.

  • Soyuz rules.

  • This Soyuz launch took place in the Russian cosmodrome Baikonur in Russia, not in the "Kazakhstan".

  • @SergeiPilipenko baikonur was a soviet cosmodrome in present day kazakhstan

  • Mason Blow a hole in that Fucking Wall!

  • Mason, fire the rocket and take that thing down!

  • Russians : Cheaper , better

Americans : More expensive , worse

  • The Soyuz is exactly what I think a dedicated spaceship should look like, the shuttle is still beautiful, but it is a compromise between brilliant in space, and able to operate in an atmosphere, whereas this is pure spacecraft.

  • I wish they could make a video on how these designs evolved from Gargarin's 1st flight to todays spacecraft?

  • It is no competition, both Soyuz and Saturn V are great rockets...=)

  • @sym125 It was a competition when USA thought they were ahead? Now they are hitchiking while they borrow Russias engine technology to catch up

  • .............

  • Definitely my favourite spacecraft, and launcher. A true 'space taxi' which will outlive the Shuttle by decades, hopefully centuries :)

  • ЖАБА!!!

  • Yay! a russian!

    Россия — священная наша держава,

    Россия — любимая наша страна.

    Могучая воля, великая слава —

    Твоё достоянье на все времена!

  • I've found conflictive information saying they use(d) Hydrogen Peroxide as oxidizer either. Does anyone confirm that?

  • Nope. R7 variants like Soyuz, Vostok, and Molniya have always used LOX/RP-1, aside from in the Fregat upper stage.

  • Даааа, мощно...

  • It really is a superb launch system. I have always liked the Russian appreciation of reliability. It's just a beautiful rocket! Thanks

  • One of the most reliable rocket systems ever built. None other across the world can compare with the efficiency and reliability of this booster.

  • Saturn V?

Not one launch failure, despite 3 incidents at launches (Apollo 6, 12 and 13)

  • @presar02 I really don't want to agree with you, but you're absolutely right. -_-

  • Someone should convince the Russians to have a 'RocketCam' installed at the top of the third stage. Even the space-crazy Russians should get a kick out of seeing the four boosters jettison away.

  • That is the rocket that transported Richard Garriot, the 'dad' of the Ultima series PC games to the Int. space station :)

  • wow what's the destination of that rocket

  • They are going to the International Space Station. Not everything is done with the Shuttle, you know =)

  • The soyuz has always been much better than any other united statian rocket. And much cheaper!!

  • Well the Russians are just so good at their disposable rockets.

  • @SpeedLimone ...better? ...you fool

  • @SpeedLimone Maybe, but what the fuck do you care since you have no background in physics, chemistry or engineering?

  • @SpeedLimone Right, how would we ever have built ISS without Soyuz? Good thing it was there to haul all the heavy stuff.

Soyuz is very good at what it was designed for. Small, light trips to space.

The U.S. doesn't have anything like Soyuz. Period. So at minimum you are comparing apples and oranges.

But you bear a striking resemblence to the Giant Bag of Douche (G.B.o.D) heavy B.S. lift series of rockets. I hear Somalia is license building them.

    That's "American" not "United Statian".

  • the Sojuz makes a lot less smoke than the Shuttle.

  • That's because the Soyuz uses only liquid rocket fuel. The 2 booster rockets on the shuttle (the ones that separate first) burn solid rocket fuel, which produces a lot of smoke.

  • smoke stacks are prettyful though : )

  • Its also due to the fact that there is no water suppression system for the Soyuz, all the smoke the shuttle makes before T-0.7(booster ignition) is the vaporization of the thousands of gallons of water used for sound suppression

  • Hey =)

  • I hear comments, LOL!
