its extremely unfair but think about this guys: if we stop buying nike shoes, if we go on a strike against the company trying to make it i dunno "collapse" those poor workers who gain 50cents daily are will simply get fired!!, they wont even have those 50 cents!!! Nike's CEO is damn rich, if his company abruptly ends... he wont care at all!!! he's rich he'll find a way to make more money, and if he doesnt he has lots to survive with.
u said 50 cents. the cost of living in those countries are a lot lower than here. 50 cents can buy a lot more food and things there. Comparing their wages to american wages is apples and oranges.
these people act as if nike is the only company in the world that gets there products done in china. it's sad that they get paid low and i understand what your saying. but other american company's do it as well. you can;t blame nike, blame the owner of the sweatshop who agrees to do what nike wants. he knows that if he says no, then nike won't give him any business. if nike sneakers were made in america they would cost 600 bucks retail. think about it.
@bigben1986 Such ignorance. Who employs the service of the sweatshop owner? NIKE! If i need to join the dots for you in such a basic way im not sure you will even understand this message. Yes, other companies abuse workers but none as much as Nike, and none as powerful as Nike. You can see the logic of peoples focus on Nike? Again, it seems obvious to everyone else but its a point you seem to miss. Agin u miss point, its not about using poor countries to make Nike, its about abuse of PEOPLE.
@bigben1986 I gave you a thumbs up, since I agree. Even if they spent less money on advertising, spent more money for labor, and demand went down for less demand due to loss of endorsements, at least the world would be a little easier on people. But WTF do I know (I sincerely mean that last part).
@FilipinoCombatArms No, thats a red herring argument put out there by the moronic obedient sycophants in the mainstream media who blindly worship the corporatocracy. Think about it, if the world objected to Nike using child sweatshop slavery and we all stopped buying their stuff because of that reason, Nike would have no choice but to pay people a fair wage. And lets face it it would only reduce Nikes profit margin by way less then 0.5%. Its sheer greed on Nike's part.
