  • What an excellent tutorial! I'll be using your instructions for an upcoming retro lingerie photo shoot :) Thanks!

  • Oh dear, was that the cat meowing or did I just imagine it?

    Soo cute. *_*

And the hairstyle is just great, I've watched other videos and I didn't understand any of them. xD

All that's missing is a little bit of red lipstick and a cute dress! :)

  • aaahh i have the same betty boop pants lol

  • i like your video :)

  • Aw this was so helpful and you are soooooo cute! Thanks so much!

  • @viJILLante3636 Aw, thanks so much. Glad I could help!

  • Super Cute,My mom and I watched and learned! Thank you!

  • awesome job thanks <3

  • Hey, this helped, thanks. :)

Also I heard too many TWSS. lol

  • My room is nearly as messy as yours, and I tell myself I keep it messy so my cat will have more fun climbing on stuff. That's what I tell myself.

Anyways, you're adorable and your hair/hairstyle is just as cute! Great work :)

  • @TheSmallZombie14 Thanks :) My room is actually way cleaner more often now, but that's funny!

  • good job:)

  • aaaawwww u r soooo cute!!! n thumbs up 4 ur belly,ur messy room,ur non-matchin' jammies n 4 ur kittyyyyyy!!!!

  • @kalaveritadeazucar lol, thanks! Life is different now, but it's funny to watch this video.

  • Is your hair stick a chopstick? :p

  • Very helpful tutorial! And it looks great with the highlights in your hair. :)

  • For once, I completely understand how to do this! :) You're amazing for making a video that's understandable. And your tummy is fine, btw. lol.

  • Thanks, great job!

  • Thank you for this tutorial, it has really good instructions and is suitable for women with long hair, like me :D Very good depth of the instructions and the rolls looks really good with the blonde streaks ^^

  • thank you soooo much. i have long hair and your the only one that was able to teach me this hair style!

  • i like this :)

btw, i have like 3 of those lil containers for bobbypins ... lol . i just bought em today . lol .

  • @briiiannaliciousx3 Thanks! They do come in handy :)

  • thought i would let you know if your really careful about how you do it, twisting the hair strands before pin rolling before bed, you can get either give yourself the greatest wave of all time or the best spiral perm looking curls ever, my grandma taught me how, but she does the X with the pin's and it never bothered, it might just be the type of hair.

  • your so awesome, I've went through fifty victory roll's and none of them looked how I envisioned and they were all so messy, and your "messy" is a thousand times neater than their's, I'm awesome with hair, I can usually do any hair style I see, and a few I make but this was the one thing that has ever given me problem's, and kudo's for you and your non matching pj's, also your tummy is great, today my toddler looked at me n said ur belly yucky mommy, I told him well its ur fault lol,

  • @MuddyDaisy haha, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad that the video has helped you :) I have actually lost about 50 lbs since then and my room is a LOT cleaner now. (incidentally, my hair is very short now and I don't have bleached streak either :))

  • thanks for the great info...helped majorly !

  • Nice job, humble; Thanks for the tip and your room and tummy are nothing to apologize for; you're a creative type!

  • @XingPed42 Thanks - You're right, I'm an artist! Although, I have since cleaned my room and lost a lot of weight. :)

  • your victory rolls look gorgeous in two-tone with the blonde and brown!

  • @burlesqueboy1940 Thanks so much! Sometimes I miss that streak - the blonde has grown out and my hair is much shorter.

  • This is not working! D; it falls apart and looks all frizzy and icky. Nice tutorial, though. It's just not working for me =[

Also, you talk about curling your hair, what about naturally curly girls like moi? Can't we just leave it curly? You just started talking about how we should curl it.

  • @RustyEraser Sorry it isn't working for you! You may have to try straightening the section that you're going to roll first (before you actually roll it). Sure, leave your hair curly! I just haven't known many curly haired people and for the era, I don't recall many naturally curly haired women either. But rock those curls! I only suggest straightening the rolls before you roll them, otherwise I don't see how you can do it. If straightening doesn't work, try pomade (ouch)

  • i have the same pj pants lol, but you are the first one ive seen with long hair that did the roll from the tip of the hair and without putting a roller in for a cheat. Thanks, my hair is down to my booty, so this will really help me. just cross your fingers my arms dont fall asleep when im rolling em. lol

  • much better than the other eejit on here who TRIED and failed dismally !! xx

  • @iloveyouhunny Thanks. I'm glad it worked for you.

  • Thank you! You're a doll for posting this :) I have a question. I have short bangs, so could I make the victory rolls, but leave my bangs intact and just brushed or pinned to the side? Or would that look too chaotic?

  • @NoellVague I've seen many people leave their bangs and just do side victory rolls. You could try either way to see what works for you.

  • @humblestumble Thanks!

  • who cares about your belly..your video was helpful..its about hair, not about what you look like or what you wear ; )

  • @pretty00kitty Thanks for the kind words :) I'm glad you found the video helpful. I try my best to help!

  • @humblestumble you welcome :D

  • ewww nasty

  • @overturned50 lol

  • Liked for CAT IN THE BACKGROUND!!

  • how long does this take for you to do on an average day?

what does it look like when you're done?

do the pin curls come out or just stay pinned in like they are?

i LOVE 40's hair, makeup, clothes, movies, music.......

    thanks so much for posting!

  • @thecommentmonster I haven't done my hair like this in ages because my hair has been short for years, but if I remember correctly, it only took about 5-10 minutes to do it and if you use enough coverage of good gel, mousse or hairspray, it should stay all day. I live in a windy city and I remember that mine would stay most of the time. If they did fall out, it would be so easy to put them back together because they keep their shape with the hairspray.

  • Love the tutorial....can you do one on the hairstyle that the andrews sisters have from the 1940s.I have always wanted to try that Hairstyle but I have no idea where to begin.

  • @LovedbyKenubus I can try but I don't know when I can do it (my hair is short now) - you taking about the page boy? Or the pompadour? They used "rats" to wrap their hair around.

  • Awesome tutorial thanks!! I've been trying to get the hang of these for ages and finally have it!! :D

  • your room is a mess! :D I like it! is there a cat inside?

  • @Cucumber2603 Lol, it's not a mess anymore. This video is 3 years old. I still have my cats, yes.

  • oh my god , this was so useful , i have watched lots of videos on how to do rolls for vintage hair but i could never get the hang of it until i saw you do the twisty thing around your fingers first then grab hold of the curl and roll! so simple, dont know why i hadnt worked that one out before! :S no stopping me now! , thanks for posting this vid :)

  • @tuttiflutey81 glad it worked out for you! You're welcome :D

  • aww is that a kitty?

haha and thanks this video helped a lot!

  • That looks great, I can't do mine rolling from the top like that, it just falls out all over the place!

  • thanks so much!!!!

  • Great video :) I am one of those (not so) lucky girls with curly hair though, and, although the vid was great and easy to follow, any tips for victory rolling curly hair?

  • @xamethystxmoonx The only thing I can suggest - because I don't have curly hair - is to maybe straighten your hair first? Or at least the portion you want to roll. That might make it easier.

  • ive got curly hair too...REALLY curly hair. and this is insanely hard for me to do. i havent been able to get it right yet.

  • @Jess31392 All I can think of is to get your hair treated first with a relaxer, or straighten it with a hair straightener.

  • @xamethystxmoonx I have curly hair too and my best luck has been with putting it in rollers while it's still wet, then sleeping with them in. sponge rollers are good because they don't hurt when you lay on them! it creates a good base for the rolling of the victory roll, as well as giving some texture to whatever hair you don't pin up.

  • Great, easy-to-understand tutorial--thanks! Can't wait to try this the next time I go out dancing!

  • im going to go attempt to do this right now.

  • i couldnt do it... i even tryed other ways from other videos i think my hair is just to thick... your entire head of hair is like half of mine lol... crazzy but i guess thats what you get when your native american... any who any tips for thick hair?

  • @AlmOstTHERE911

The only thing I can think of is maybe spray your hair before rolling it. Keep trying, I hope you get to do it!

  • me tooooo!!! arghghgh!!

  • i love your hair. realy cute. i was wondering, i just got bangs and have been having trouble doing the rolls since then, any adive on how to get it to work for my hair?

  • I believe it works best when your bangs are at least 6" long. Hmm... maybe try putting gel or mousse in your bangs and letting it set up a little bit before you start to roll?

  • I really enjoyed the tutorial. Very well done! If you feel like doing a tutorial sometime on pin curls that would great!

  • uuuggg its soo hard iv tryed too do it soo many times and my rolls just dont come out

  • thankyou so much you are so likable and helpful thank you i hope u have a nice day!

  • Thanks for all your tutorial

you're really sweet and they're all really clear

    :)

  • my jammies rarely match lol

  • i can't do it :((

  • ahhh much help, i love the victory rolls. definitely doing this for the bar tonight. much appreciated.

  • youre using color brushes as parting tools?

a tail comb could work just as well.

  • What's the difference in what she uses as a parting tool? It's not like there was any colour on the brush. Pedantic

  • Thank you! this is the most helpful video I've seen! and you are sooo cute!

  • did you ever take the little curler out?

or do you leave it in the whole time?

  • love the hair, but GIRL, that room is a HOTT mess!!!!

  • yeah, aqua net is super.... bad for your hair! it has a lot of alcohol! hey, would that look good on my hair even though i do have beings and i have my whole hair black?

  • does your dog or cat i cant tell have a cast?

  • No, my cat doesn't have a cast. They have white paws though.

  • Very cute!

  • aqua net is sooo bad for your hair

    and super flamable

    try BIG SEXY HAIR.

  • that's one messy room. :)

  • AQUA NET POWER!!!!

  • I love this! I just tried it on my own and was surprised how quick and easy it is to get such a classy look. You're a good teacher! :o) Thanks for teaching me how!

  • i have really curly hair and i find it easier to do it then on girls with straight hair. when you straighten it the texture of curly hair really helps it satay up=] so it might be easier...well i think it is cuz i tried doing it to my sister who has pin straight hair...so just to let you guys know, it is possible!! lol

  • ostias como tiene la casa la coleguita!

que recoga antes de hacer el video!

  • thank you so much, that helped a lot :)

i love your hair, its very pretty

  • messy background lol

    jk : )

  • is there anyway possible to do this with layered hair. i have tried it but its just to hard so idk. help por favor? (please) :)

  • My hair is fairly layered up in front where my bangs, and to do this hairstyle all of that needs to be swept up. To help me out, I usually wait until my hair is a little dirty, apply a SMALL amount of pomade/cement to the hair that I want swept back and some hairspray to get rid of any funny fly aways, and that usually helps my layered hair to stay manageable for this hairstyle! :D

    Good luck!

  • ohh thank you so much i killed magneto lol nice! but thanks!!! :D

    <33

  • Wow girl you made that so easy for me,

I'm really going for the fifties look, but cant bring myself to cut my super long hair, and the way you did this, I can see that wont have to, thank you so much :)

  • Thank you SOOOOOO much. This is the video with the best results on here. I'm actually a liscensed cosmetologist and still have had trouble with these. Love you! xo

  • this is amazing and so easy! i love it ! thanks

  • i <3 you blonde bits at the front.

    well cute.

  • Oh wow, I was thinking of going back to my old hair color which is similar to yours (red w/platinum blonde bangs). I was wondering how the rockabilly look would have looked and you answered my question. It looks great.

  • You are adorable! And a great teacher, I'll definitely give it a try!!!

  • You were so cute! Thanks for that tutorial. I would have never thought of trying victory curls, but tomorrow I will! And I might just get my hair died red (instead of blonde cuz i'm a brunette)! Also, I was going to change the video, but you were so nice and cute!

  • *dyed

  • Thanks :) I'm so glad it inspired you to try! I'm going to die my hair red too :) With Henna. And thank you again! Good luck!

  • if you did/do dye your hair red with henna can you put a vid on to show how it turned out, i've bought some and im too scared to use it!

  • I'm actually going to do it again because mine has faded. Hardly anyone noticed a difference in color, but there was one. Everyone just thought something was "different." Just get an old brush that has ur hair in it, and try it on that first. Also, don't boil water to put in it, use lemon juice!

  • I still have to order more though. I'm going to get a different kind from Mehandi shop online. The kind you get from local stores usually turns out more orange red than red-red. I may post a video once I do it, but it will be a while.

  • Your so freakign awesome!

  • you go girl

  • darn my hair is way too layered to do this. :[

  • i love your hair style!! and honey don't worry about your room, clothes, belly, pijamas... you're here to show how to do that style not to clean up a room.

  • Thanks so much! I'm going to use this for Halloween. Cute kitty in the background by the way!

  • how would you do this on curly hair and with bangs?

  • I would suggest straightening at least the part you want to roll up, and maybe growing out your bangs to at least your chin.

  • Thank you so much I was planning on doing this for halloween but i have no clue how to style the hair, you helped me a lot!
