I love how the whole time Veruca's getting pulled down the chute, Depp is looking frantically for the key, and then as soon as she falls down, he just turns the key and opens the door, like he planned it all. The one thing I don't understand, though, is why the dad didn't simply climb over the gate to save his daughter.
