I got my dog when she was 2 months old, and about a year later, we brought her back to the shelter, to revisit her mum and her brother. her brother was re-abandoned, because he got food aggresive. Speckle (my dog) didnt recognise her brother, but she whined when she saw her mum. She wasnt allowed go into her mum's enclosure, in case her mum got aggresive and didnt know who she was. :(

Wow... my puppy had no problem recognizing her own mommy a few months after adopting her. In fact, they were all over each other, licking each others' faces and pretty much interacting like they did when I first came to see them. Odd.

this reminds me of a puppy mill I see every day when i come back from school.

they are literally about 1 month old and the owner has them out side in the cold in a steel cage with nothing to cover them with out mentioning that its winter time, they are literally all bunched up trying to keep each other worm..... sadly i live in a country where non of this matters wheres there's no respect for a living being

It's not fair, because once puppys get through the stage of leaving there mother, taking them back will make it seem though it is a temporay stay the had at ur house, and when they go back, they'll figuire it's not, and will go through a confussing, depressing stage.

I love this video. I wish I could re-unite my Yorkie with her family, but she's a rescue dog, so we don't know where they are. They look to be having so much fun, and that is typical of Yorkie play, rolling around, biting (not painfully) and generally running around. x

I wouldn't say we're stupid owners. Sure, Conrad was our first puppy, but inexperience doesn't equal stupidity. The mother was indeed much colder the second time they met (a couple months after this video was taken), but I am not sure how you've assessed that the mother did not enjoy the interaction shown in this video. Even if she did not recognize him as her son, certainly two dogs are capable of enjoying each other's company?

@beasta I don't know what these other people see but we have had four YorkiePoos - currently have the father, Junior, and his fixed daughter, Mitzie - and those two mess with each other 24/7! But are sweethearts - he will take her down and pin her... Then lick her face all over! 3 Ring Comedy Circus 24/7!! These dogs in this clip ABSOLUTELY knew each other! Conrad is so excited he can't contain himself doing laps around mom! Her little tail is going 90 mph!! Guess ya gotta know YORKIES!!

our yorkie is a guy, and when he met his daughter he ignored her completely... the same with his grand daughter! we got him when he was like 8 though... the owners before him kept him in one of those travel crates for like the first 7 years of his life... he has serious mental problems... he is violently obsessive over my little sister, who technically rescued him from that pathetic little cage.... he hates me but i can't help but love the little fucker.... yorkies are my new favorite dog!

Crate training is an important part of establishing dominance over your dogs, but they shouldn't trapped in there like a goldfish. Seven years? That's horrible. No responsible/caring dog owner would subject their dogs to that kind of neglect and torment.

Luckily it sounds like he has found a good home.  Yorkies seem to be quite possessive of people. Conrad is really only concerned with my mom, but at least he's not aggressive towards anyone, except for maybe my mini schnauzer :P
