I was told they wrote this song about a homeless fella that lived outside their apartment called rocky, and one morning they went out and saw he'd got himself a girlfriend and they wrote this song about a conversation they coulda had...
A couple of the guys from Bell X1 showed up at the Swell Season concert in Columbus last week and played this song, along with Eve. It was such an awesome surprise! Love it
Weren't they great? We were there too and it was such a surprise. These guys come up onstage and launch into two songs that gave us goosebumps! Thanks Glenn Hansard for introducing us to more fab music
well wen de lads wer livin in dublin, i tink in de erly years a homeless dude used 2 sleep on der doorstep nd dey wud give him a bit of food nd stuff. den 1 mornin 1 of dem went out 2 him wit some food nd he had pulled. dis is based on a conversation dey may have had! der u go
Ahh I love this version, I couldn't find it on Limewire... the only version I get is the original, which is good; but not as great as the acoustic, could someone help me out here to find this version, or something acoustically similiar to download? Thanks.
this song is an imaginary conversation between a homeless couple who hooked up one night and the song would be there so called pillow talk the next morning!!
''The sun gives light, and it takes it away, and like all the greats,it'll burn out someday''. Absolutely beautiful,he is a poet,a wordsmith, this song will go down in irish music history.
But like all the greats, it'll burn out someday''. Pure Genius, the words in this song are so amazing, posibly one of the greatest irish songs ever written.
"you weren't so nice last night, you're such an arsehole when you're drunk, at least im ok in the mornin" thats one of my favorite lyrics ever brilliant! great song!
i was fckin lookin 4 this song everywhere ledg song exellent 4 a irish band go on ye irish....i heard this song at a show i was at nd i lked it so mch mii dad rang da director (who he knew lol) nd asked him wat its called
Thank you SO MUCH for this acoustic version. That's how I first heard the song (BellX1 did an acoustic set as the support act for The Frames) and I immediately fell in love. "They're like headlights in the rear view mirror, they're closer than they seem." I don't know why, but to me that's the most beautiful sentence I've ever heard. :)
Gives me chills EVERY time. Especially when I think of the story behind it about the vagrant who used live on the street near their house and one morning they came out and he had a woman with him. His name was Rocky.
why are they not more popular ? its a disgrace !! people don't recognise real talent
