  • can it sound like a normal acoustic piano?

  • I miss some bass sounds, rhythm and accompaniment to demonstrate! Who the hell care about silly demo songs, this stuff is not for listening those ones..

  • @30inventionman: Yeah, it's possible, the Midi 1X1 interface costs about $30 at places like Guitar Center and Kennally Keys, and it works with other things too.

  • Awesome! I just picked one of these up at a thrift store for $40.

  • Awesome, I just picked one of these up for $40.

  • Pleeease, upload a demonstration song.. Nostalgic thing...

  • Any chance of uploading the demonstration tune? I miss hearing it!

  • im gonna try pickin one of these up for 40 dollars this week

  • I had one of these that my dad bought me. It got robbed along with my band's gear back in 1999-2000. Can't remember exactly.

I'd had it since I was around 10. Loved that keyboard :.(

  • there is one for sale on ebay now like 140 bucks.. that's why I came here.. I played on one when I was like 14 and man I brings me good memories. :)

  • Yeah, I've been looking at it. Just so happens though I managed to swap my ion drums for a Casio CTK573 for midi last week.

  • I think you can figure out a use for any instrument in any genre of music :) so yeah, I think you could use this keyboard for black metal.

  • I got this one for free yesterday, found it in the garage at my girlfriend's place! Will definitely connect it through MIDI, I read that a software app will fully utlilize this synths capabilities..

  • I just snagged one at a thrift store for $2.50!

  • My dad still has this. He said it was fantastic at the time

  • There's more than six parameters for the FM synth! Six buttons maybe, but look closer.

  • From what I've found, if you can find an editor that works through MIDI (I know there's one for Windows that I found and can zip up and send if requested), you get increased capability (from what I've read, it has the capabilities of the Adlib's YM3182 chip).

The SysEx features actually do have four wave forms (Sine, Square-Sine, Sine Half, Square-Sine Half), and just about all features one could want from the OPL2.

  • Awesome, maybe I should hook it up to my 486 laptop and use it to control the patches.

  • Fucking cool.

  • You should play 1984!
