FF9- Level 1 Party vs. Ozma

I'm pretty sure this is a hack. It is impossible 4 ur party 2 be Lv. 1 at this point in the game, so this is kinda pointless.

I'm pretty sure I know a lot about this game. I've been playing Final Fantasy since 4 and I beat every one of them up and down multiple times AND THERE IS NO WAY U CAN MAKE IT THIS FAR IN THE GAME WITHOUT LEVELING!!!

@bornofdesire666 That's incorrect. You can run from every fight (except bosses, which give no exp). You can also acquire either the zombie or virus status effects which make your characters unable to receive exp (virus being preferable as you can still heal your characters with it).

It certainly IS possible. Basically you just don't get any experience from boss battles (Ozma being an exception, as you see, you level up like 20 times when you defeat him), otherwise there is the Virus status effect, which prevents you getting EXP and AP as well.

The rest is just a lot of patience, gil management (as you don't get anything from those missed battles probably), equipment swapping and running away from any random encounter.

Quina has a skill which does 9999 dmg if he has just 1 hp.

Freia has a skill which does 9999 dmg if the party defeat many dragonmonster.

Zidane has a skill which does 9999 dmg if he stole a lot of items.

Just Eiko i dunno how she deals so much dmg.

How do you get to fight Ozma?

i understand that people are saying, "he didn't cheat" but can some explain breifly how i managed to get the charicters, skills, and to that boss, without leveling up, i mean you level up on the 1st few fights of the game.

You dont level up in the first few fights, you dont even get AP, let alone EXP. You can get all that AP for the abilities by fleeing from battles until you get to the Iifa tree, where the monsters inflict virus, which stops your characters from receiving EXP. As long as all of your characters are inflicted with virus, you wont level up, but you will get AP.

bosses don't give Experience points in FF9.

and the forced EXP giving fights, Black Mages, are handled by excessive luck- one of Quina's forks has petrify as an added effect.

I'm not aware of any other EXP-giving fight that you can't run from before you can get Virus.

i didn't understand too much but i 've tried to deafet ozma at at level 1 it's almost impossible for me becuase just two of my attacks inflict a 9999 damage on oz ma T-T

I hate it when people start saying that you were using cheats and everything just because they couldn't kill him. And Ozma is the same challenge at level one, as he is at level 99... He's really hard to kill, but NOT impossible... The hardest challenge in my oppinion is getting to Ozma at level 1.

I'm happy that I've beaten Ozma quite a while ago...

But... God, I hate his Meteora as it's as strong as Emerald's Air Tam Strong... Good thing that Ozma rarely uses it =]

Air Etam Storm deals 1111 damage for each Materia your characters have equipped.

I only had 4 or 5 when I beat Emerald.

I'm a bit surprised that there are people actually going 'lol omg cheating!111one'. This is quite possible, albeit very tedious and challenging.

Although, given half of the population of YouTube can't find the time to read video descriptions anyway...look in the Level One Ozma Faq that the uploader suggested if you don't believe it.

It gives EXP, if you want to complete the game with Level 1 party than your party has to be under the zombie status when you beat Ozma.

The is acutally fairly easy and I am not surprised or shocked considering the fact that every true Final Fantasy (and RPG gamer for that matter) knows that it easier to defeat enimies at a lower level because monsters cannot be more powerful than what level your at. So my point is If your at a low level the enemy is at a low lovel. If your at a high level the enemy is ata high level. The enemies level up when you do

It's in russian. And they use Dragon's Crest, Thievery and Limit Glove (and Eiko throws Dark Matter). At least that's what I think it is :]
