Took over twenty years to find out who did this. I knew the name obviously but to now know that Vince Clarke had something to do with this is incredible.
This played at the Nectarine Ballroom in Ann Arbor and Uptown in Bowling Green OH in the fall of 1985. And I have a mixtape from a DJ from Uptown to prove it.
Bless you for posting this. I thought this song was lost forever to me. It sounds even more amazing and beautiful than I remember, especially since I have moved to the East.
Easy to hear, that Vince Clark and Stephen Luscombe from Blancmange is the driving force behind this great tune. I still have my 12inch 100% intact as new, since I haven't played it more than 20-30 times in 25-26 years, since I bought it. Great great vibe and groove. I also love the drums which more or less sounds like Stephen Luscombe's work, and some characteristic synth work from Vince Clark :-) I've sampled my 12inch, so I don't need to wear on the vinyl :-)
this is a great track in the 80s and always loved this song, since then. thank you so much for uploading. i have to correct the comment below. we are talking here about stephen luscombe of blancmange. this title was his side project W.I.C. stephen and vince looks almost the same, most especially on ave maria tv performance in the 80's. the difference: only stephen is a bit taller. both are good synths musicians though ;-)
As i understand, Vince Clark of ERASURE produced the track, and you can totally hear his syth-work here. As a Roman Catholic i just love the way it takes blasphemy to an utterly Holy level---to be completely vamping off of the prayer of Hail Mary --It's beyond Soul!
Yep that was me ;) through the hallway, up the ladder staircase and throught the hatch. Was a great place (F&I) but the best of the best was Kitchen Club the first two years.
Hee hee, well that was me playing on Thursdays (later Fridays and Saturdays too). Indochine was a french band with a huge hit that had the twangin' James Bond kind of guitar "L'Aventurier". One night a lady from France turned up telling me about this local band and that I should play the first song on the album. It was an instant #1 hit. Oh yeah - and Bela Lugosis Dead ;)
Thx a lot to Blancmange and the indian crew. Its a song from 1984 and I LOVE IT. I have the orange vinyl-version. And listen here to Vishnu by Blancmange. Have fun!
I have been looking for this song for decades.....a million thank yous....up there with "My Soul Unraps Tonight" by Savage Progress and "Looking from the Hilltop" by Section 25
