  • Ive been practicing this songnon a 4.3 andwill be performing it on a 4.3 mrcheesyist. It was actually originally written to be played on a 4.0 octave.

  • Do you need a five octave marimba for this song or would 4.3 be ok?

  • this is really accurate but fast as shit.

  • buenooooooooo

  • Gordon is pretty much the most accurate player period. Good luck finding his accuracy. Talk about making it look easy. Merlin is easier than Mex no 1.

  • your username makes me laugh

  • you did a very nice job =) i started learning this just the other day.

  • @avv2010 thank you :) it's a fun piece eh?

  • nice job. the piece is very difficult and your note accuracy is intimidating at the speed your takin it. you just forgot the repeat in the beggining but thats ok!

  • dat marimba iz huge!!

  • I'm learning this piece right now. Well played, but watch out for note accuracy :P

  • doesnt sound mexican to me..and i know many mexican songs

  • I heard this the first time watching Weeds Season 4 Episode "Little Boats" and loved it.

  • nice!

  • And that's a nice marimba, I've played on one like that before, it's amazing!

  • I might be playing this! Looks fun, but hard. And that's what she said. :)

  • Awesome video and great playing!

  • dang. what size is that marimba?

  • 5 octave :)

  • @percussionista17 wooh that's nice :) I play vibes and marimba I'm not amazing or anything haha.

  • pretty good

  • the mallets are too hard! and a littel bit of study more, it would be better jajaj.

  • good, good, good!

  • I love how mallet are the only people who dont really have to listen all that much to see if our instrument is in tune, but we use our ears the most

  • mallets are too hard

  • TOO FAST!!! Its called "mexican dances"!!! It sounds more like "mexicans running from the cops"!!!

  • I did the same thing when I played this piece. I always play too fast and just do things in general too fast.

  • lmao

  • ahahahaha

  • lol. actually its listed at 112 and she was only at about 100, then again this is def the fastest i've seen anyone play it on youtube

  • I've always wondered if that mm was a misprint. I don't know that I've heard Stout play it that fast. I probably played it at about 90. Too slow?

  • no i'd say about 90 to 95 is def average. i don't think its a misprint either cuz stout is just kinda crazy like that. like my private teacher said for all we know he could've wanted to go like 130

  • Stout's recording was fast. Doesn't sound like, wasn't 112, but it wasn't slow like in Evie's version.

  • hahaha! lmao!

  • Gordon Stout's (the composer) recording is even faster.

  • @lyrikkalvision07 it's supposed to be this fast if not even a little faster.

  • @lyrikkalvision07 I wildly disagree with you. Some of the best recordings of this piece are faster than this. dotted quartet note = 112-126 is pretty quick.

  • Heard this song in Weeds and loved it

  • not bad. you missed the repeat in the first three measures. you sound very tense too and there is no dynamic change between the first and second time. Infact not much dynamic contrast at all. some missed notes...

  • elle joue trop vite, mais je comprende pas du tout.

  • but hey... besides the playing she's cute.

  • Where in Canada do you study? I'm in Victoria BC.

  • great! keep at it! [:

i can't tell if the accuracy was %100, but it's great for that tempo!

  • fa cagare fatta così. già non è il massimo di per sè, se poi la suoni male....

  • i do not see what the point of playing with both right and left hands at the begining if throughout most of the fist mvt. you keep the left constant but i like it i guess

  • sickness.

  • That was excellent.

I'm hoping to go to WLU for clarinet performance... how's the teaching staff? what I hear is that they are excellent.

  • WLU is awesome for music! the staff is probably the best and everyone is super friendly.

  • Awesome. I'm really glad to hear that.

  • how old are you?

  • shoooooott youre crazyyyy! :)

  • ohh thats so crazy !!! =O!!! This is the krazy things you learn in school hmm? O_O

  • yeah man that's what I do at school =) learn a bunch of percussion instruments! this is only a part of it! thanks for watching!

  • when you say you learn a bunch of percussion instruments, are you a percussion major? or do you play something else and mess with percussion in your spare time?

  • yes. i'm a percussion major.

  • you're awesome kat :D
