Ive been practicing this songnon a 4.3 andwill be performing it on a 4.3 mrcheesyist. It was actually originally written to be played on a 4.0 octave.
Gordon is pretty much the most accurate player period. Good luck finding his accuracy. Talk about making it look easy. Merlin is easier than Mex no 1.
nice job. the piece is very difficult and your note accuracy is intimidating at the speed your takin it. you just forgot the repeat in the beggining but thats ok!
no i'd say about 90 to 95 is def average. i don't think its a misprint either cuz stout is just kinda crazy like that. like my private teacher said for all we know he could've wanted to go like 130
@lyrikkalvision07 I wildly disagree with you. Some of the best recordings of this piece are faster than this. dotted quartet note = 112-126 is pretty quick.
not bad. you missed the repeat in the first three measures. you sound very tense too and there is no dynamic change between the first and second time. Infact not much dynamic contrast at all. some missed notes...
i do not see what the point of playing with both right and left hands at the begining if throughout most of the fist mvt. you keep the left constant but i like it i guess
when you say you learn a bunch of percussion instruments, are you a percussion major? or do you play something else and mess with percussion in your spare time?

Do you need a five octave marimba for this song or would 4.3 be ok?

I love how mallet are the only people who dont really have to listen all that much to see if our instrument is in tune, but we use our ears the most

I did the same thing when I played this piece. I always play too fast and just do things in general too fast.

lol. actually its listed at 112 and she was only at about 100, then again this is def the fastest i've seen anyone play it on youtube
drummerinlinetube 2 years ago
I've always wondered if that mm was a misprint. I don't know that I've heard Stout play it that fast. I probably played it at about 90. Too slow?

Stout's recording was fast. Doesn't sound like, wasn't 112, but it wasn't slow like in Evie's version.

Gordon Stout's (the composer) recording is even faster.

@lyrikkalvision07 it's supposed to be this fast if not even a little faster.
