These people should be congratulated they spend more time helping their community than most people. They are often accused of contributing to the problem because they fix and feed the cats instead of trap and kill them. These volunteers did NOT create this problem and it's not the cat's fault either. The lawmakers are to blame it is THEIR failure to solve the problem which has caused it to go on so long. Colony management is the only way to control and ultimately reduce the numbers of cats.
There should be more of this done. Putting stray cats to death is needless and cruelty. Here is a valid option which is successful and would easily work else where as well.
