  • Check out my vids, I got a larger snapper and sunfish too

  • Hey, in that first tank, is that real or fake wood? If real did you treat that stick in anyway before putting it in the tank? Please respond. I plan on doing something similar

  • @bigbuck721 It was fake wood. The real wood I have used before always seemed to make the water murky so I stopped using it, but I have never treated any of it so I don't know it that would help or not.

  • Okay you stupid redneck you know nothing at all you want me to post proof I will

  • @MrFishermen98 lol, still waiting for that proof of yours...Kinda wonder what it makes you if the "stupid redneck" is correct? Maybe something worse I would think, hahaha.

  • @MrFishermen98 Still desperately searching for the proof you will never find because it doesn't exist? I guess the "dumb redneck" was correct, lol.

  • @MrFishermen98 Are you really 19 or are you 13 because of your 98 in your name? Because if its the latter, it would explain some things...

  • @MrFishermen98 FAIL...

  • I'm not even gonna argue with you because your to dumb to even see it's illegal in every state that's why they domesticate animals in stores cause they don't want people like you taking the wild population leaving none left to reproduce and realessing them they don't survive long.....also you don't even know what turtle you have

  • @MrFishermen98 By stores you mean pet stores? Because most native animals arin't sold in pet stores because people are allowed to just catch them. Alot of exotics are imported while there is a small amount being captive breed. But the only laws I found protecting wild animals from being pets is animals like wolves, bears, foxes and so on. There was no mention of native reptiles except alligators because those animals are the only ones that actually get dependent on humans for food.

  • @MrFishermen98 Unless you can find some DNR site saying that ALL wild animals are protected as you say then you obviously lost this arguement and should do research before you make yourself into an idiot like this. Because you're the one making alligations about it being illegal to catch any wild animal yet you have no real proof...so please shut up next time you try to say someone is dumb, when you can't prove anything. Untill then you have nothing to argue with.

  • That's not true at all you can't keep wild animals at all or even relaease them you could google it of even ask a fish and game person they'll tell you I can't explain to you anymore but I'm positive I'm correct

  • @MrFishermen98 Hmm, wonder why SCDNR they didn't stop me from taking a banded water snake before...? Maybe because laws are different from state to state like I said at the start of this.

  • @MrFishermen98 If you're so positive why don't you have some sort of proof instead of just telling me to google it? Please give me something specific to search for so you can actually prove you are correct instead of just guessing. Also please tell me if you have ever asked a DNR person about that because it would seem you haven't. Also if you think I confused a common snapper with a stinkpot then you are mistaken.

  • that's just 1 example

  • @MrFishermen98 Yet you have none? I'm sorry but I think I would believe someone with actual experience, then someone that just believes what their parents told them. If you actually researched you would know there are no laws saying that its illegal to catch any animal. But I guess animals rehabilitation centers are pointless and never help the animal by what you say...lol.

  • Eastern box turtles have been caught wildely in the illegal pet trade and so many other turtles now look at there numbers in the wild they decreased so much but now with the help of stoping people from taking wild animals there increasing

  • @MrFishermen98 Funny its called the illegal pet trade, thats because those people arin't just catching 1 or 2 they are wiping the population out where they are. You need to realize people catching stuff for keeping themselves isn't lowering the population out any. Alot of the time people will actually breed their pet and release the offspring. Also there are alot of "what if'" in your reason for not releasing pet animals. Thing is your example would make them sick from poisoning...

  • @MrFishermen98 ...it wouldn't change the gene pool at all, because its not a disease. Also with polution in most waterways whos to say they haven't had contact with those chemicals already? The diseases you're talking about are normally because of bad living conditions and go away once they either are released or are given a better / cleaner cage to live in, non-existent in the wild because it can't survive there. The stuff on the news only effect mammals, doesn't spread back to reptiles.

  • Eastern box turtle are caught wi

  • Ok I am a expert in reptiles and study fish habits for my spare time and yes there is what if the turtle swallows windex or a little drop of cleaning supplies then the ingredients in the thing it swallowed causes a new type of problem they could have only got in captivity then it spreads to the wild population and they can't deal with it since it's never happened before..also turtles do harbor diseases on there shells look it up it's always on the news and stuff.

  • @MrFishermen98 The only people spreading diseases are the ones that bring exotic pets to the US, because thats when animals here can't fight something off well, because they arin't used to it. Other than that the diseases you get from native to native animals is often taken care of naturally. Fact is that its not illegal to catch animals for your own pet. You may want to realize that you're talking about the illegal pet trade, not what I'm doing.

  • ya but it's illegal everywhere because if you take a wild animal it won't have the chance to make more but if you take it and put it back it could possibly have some household disease that wild animals may not have then spread it to every turtle in the pond which could get worse it happens sometimes also animals in captivty realeased will have a hard time finding food there used to it within 5 feet of them then they have to go swim after fish hundreds of feet away in a lake

  • @MrFishermen98 You obviously know nothing of reptiles or fish because there are no transmitable diseases from humans to them, plus I have no exotic animals so nothing to be caught from that. Also wild caught animals, especially fish and turtles adapt incredibly fast, once I caught a turtle and within 10 min it was eating turtle pellets. Also you are wrong about it being illegal to catch all animals because there is no such law. You are probably thinking of national parks anyway.

  • No it's just illegal to take live animals from the wild....even though there not endangered if everyone takes one they will be soon

  • @MrFishermen98 Don't know where you live but here its not illegal to take animals because when animals are taken they often don't stay in captivity their whole life, they get to big and are let go. In my case I take care of them a few months and let them back go to give them a better chance at surviving in the wild, because baby turtles have a very low chance when they are quarter size.

  • You do relize that's a musk turtle I bet you caught him in a lake illegaly and think it's a snapper

  • @MrFishermen98 Supposed to be a stinkpot, not sure if its illegal or not, but I actually didn't mean to catch them, because I found them in an invasive plant I took out of a river...only found them once I cleaned out the roots of the plant so I could put it in my minnow pond.

  • @MrFishermen98 I'm sure it depends what state you live in also, looked up protected turtles in South carolina and only saw bog turtles as the only fresh water turtle thats protected in SC and I haven't even seen one of those so no problem there. But I know some states that you arin't allowed to catch / keep any turtles under 4 inches long because its a choking hazard...

  • do your snappers ever bask ,my buddy told me they hardly ever come out of the water.

  • @shampoo02 Well they do bask sometimes but don't think they need it like other turtles do. My alligator snapper only basks when there isn't any fish to eat in the tank. Recently gave the smaller common snapper to a friend because they were getting aggressive.

  • @ericrinscrivers Cool thanks i was just wanted to provide the right care for my snapper , oh by the way if you dont mind me asking were did you get the alligator snappers ? Ive been trying to get one , thanks .

  • @shampoo02 I got mine at a reptile expo locally. All you need to do is google "local reptile shows" and you should find some sites with locations and dates they will be open. Probably looking at about $25-75 each, depending on what state you live in.

  • @ericrinscrivers Ya thanks , the only problem is that in Florida you cant buy one in the state but can get one out of it. I know that sounds weird but maybe all try to look around on the net like you said .

  • @shampoo02 Try out turtleman/.com maybe you can get them shipped instead of having to travel and buy it, plus when they get to big to keep in an aquarium you can ship it back and get a new baby one...

  • @ericrinscrivers Thanks , all look that up and check the turlemans site out.Thats nice to be able to send the bigger turle back for a smaller one since they get real big.

  • @shampoo02 np, and yeah that makes it alot cheaper to care for, plus I think he releases the adults into the wild to preserve the population.

  • @ericrinscrivers True , since alligator snappers are I think still protected to a point . They dont really move that much from what ive seen at zoos , ally snappers tend to be kinda boring but they look really cool thow .thats why i like them.

  • @shampoo02 Well you can also feed Allys more than snakes and luring is pretty awesome, they just look so beastly with all the lil barbel things sticking off them and the lil plates and stuff. But common snappers are alot more active if you want that and some look pretty cool. I have a common snapper but it doesn't look like most do. Its alot darker with a more pointed head while most commons heads look alot like a pond turtles head, this one doesn't so I've kept it for close to 4 years now.

  • @ericrinscrivers The only problem is that snappers get so big and quick. They are cool looking kinda dino in a way.

  • take the fishes or turtles out from the aquarium, because the snappers want to eat fish!

  • @PowerDok Snappers arin't in the main fish tank in this video...

  • The turtles have really grown!

  • Thanks, I've had the bigger snapper since it was the size of a half-dollar about 3 years ago.

  • nice snapper dude :)
