It sounds like a beautiful Jewish prayer and the Cantor is wonderful, there so much expression in his voice but it is stupid to make it look like it's Pavarotti, it's an insult to both of them, both incredible singers in their own right.
CREO QUE ES UNA FALTA DE RESPETO A PAVAROTTI Y A LA FESTIVIDAD DE ROSH HASHANA PUBLICAR ESTE VIDEO ENGAÑOSO. AL AUTOR LE CORTARIA LAS MANOS PARA QUE NO VUELVA A REALIZAR DISPARATES COMO ESTE.
Hey Jews, read "Did Six Million Really Die?", free on the Web. We are fed up of you lies that demonize Germans, Christians, and white people in general. You got blacks hating us because they think Whites burn people in ovens. Your banks are destroying our economy. We are sick of dying in YOUR wars against Arabs. Benjamin Shalom Bernanke can stop fucking up our economy.
@JackTiger9 you are showing your miserable life; have a little self respect; there is still time for your sins. repent God forgives even people like you.
Even though I am a very devout person of the Jewish faith and love the voice, prayers and music, I resent the use of Pavarotti's image in this way! I had the fortune to meet Maestro Pavarotti and I do not like the use of his image in this way. it is very disrespectful and insulting.
Extremely stupid and self-disruptive too, for that matter, as Pavarotti would not have been able to sing so nicely in a foreign language, let alone Hebrew. He had a clear diction when he sang in Italian, but he was terrible when attemping to sing in other tongues, even Neapolitan...
@porkupine666 I agree with you; this composition is an insult to the memory of Pavarotti and sacrilege to the Hebrew words (I believe from the service during Rosh Hashana).
i agree with you,it is an insult to any intelligent human being a believer in god that a holy prayer is being compared to an operatic aria, and secondly, you so called cantor, should never ever compare your crocodile croacks to the prince of opera's voice.
Cantor Mizrahi is a friend of mine and was always called the Jewish Pavoratti because of his similar build and look and his voice on top has a Pavoratti sound he still is a fine cantor, one of the best living cantors easily alive and lives and works in Chicago. Checkout his web site.
It has been announced that Dov Heller will officiate at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue this coming Shabbat. Please let everyone know. Please send this information to everyone on your email and phone lists.
chazan muller is just phenomenal, simply the best, noone even comes close. His power is unequaled within the jewish community.Pavarotti once said about him that such a voice only emerges once in a century. His davening on yomim noiroim is full of regesh and a real inspiration to all those present. The Antwerp community is very lucky and proud of his extreme fidelity over all these years, when he chose to stay in his hometown while other communities all over the world were all trying to lurk him away.
It is somebody's idea of a JOKE obviously. That is NOT Luciano's voice!
in fact, this is not even a good video and this guy COULD get an action for using the image of a dead celebrity without permission from the Estate not to mention copyright ISSUES that have gotten other videos pulled from here. I WANT TO SEE THE CANTOR NOT SOMETHING LIKE THIS JOKE VIDEO. Obviously made by a Nazi.
There is a cantor in Winnepeg, Canada who voice is most unbelievable. His name is Chazan Aaron Bensousan born in Morocco. He at one time was connected with Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn, NY. If you can get one of his records or discs you will know what I am talking about.
The singer is a nice singer, but he doesn't have a chazan's voice. So it doesn't correlate. Would be have been better to add audio from HelfGut or Baumgarten. Neverthless, I would be interested to know who the Jewish singer is. The voice sounds somewhere between Shvaki and Jerufi.
He often wore a colorful scarf and a hat, be it a fedora or a beret, and while he didn't always have a beard, it was hard to imagine him without it. Few knew that these seemingly artistic expressions of style where part of Pavarotti's gradual return to his true heritage as a Jew of Marrano ancestry. This was one of the best kept secrets in the Opera world, which has only been released to the public posthumously by Apple770.
whos the cantor

There is no connection between the words we hear and the gentleman's lips. Could it be just a very poor job of dubbing?
The hazzan who sings is obviously Jewish and quite good.

Not terribly successful, though.

The voice is NOT as beautiful as Pavrotti's. It's too nasal. And way too much effect is on the mic.

Looks a little like Hazzan Abe Mizrahi of Chicago, but with 1/60 of the voice of the Hazzan Ish
