i want to try the big mandu ( not th edumpling, but the bun with filling inside) sadly, I cannot make myself understood at my local asian market. I ask for mandu and they give me dumplings. I see large buns but they call them jao-ji? (sp?) anyway- what am I doing wrong?
All that food looked awesome. Your food videos are some of my fave on Youtube, particularly the coffee videos. Been to Japan several times and I hit all the different coffee house chains there. Have you visited Japan?
i should not have watched this while waiting for my supper! those crabs!! the dragon's beard candy part was funny at the same time he's really good demonstrating how it's done! thanks for sharing.
I can't choose! I'd like to try all. Whenever in the future I'll visit South Korea, I'll also make sure to try a lot of different foods... Wish I was at that food festival.
i was in seoul in june 2011 and the best meal i had was jjimdak. i had it in sinchon but can't seem to find any videos on youtube on it. it's a must have when u go to korea. i hope the restaurant is still open when i go back to korea in 2 yrs.
You're very fortunate to be able to try all those dishes. We have the proverbial "Americanized" Chinese Restaurants here. I asked one of the gals one time, why they didn't serve traditional food, and she replied, "Americans wouldn't eat it, they would find out what was in it, and be grossed out." LOL Not me though, I'll try most any food once.
all that food!!! XD gah!!! all that looked so good!!! and I think that's the first time I've seen you speak Korean! how many years did u say you lived in Korea? jw! ^^ thanks much for the vid!
@Graehaus not most but a lot of them are. there are savory Korean food, but personally, if you are going to only eat out (aka restaurant food) and not what Koreans normally eat at home you might get very biased on what Korean food is like. hence, ask cautiously since even foreigners who live in Korea but mostly eat out can have a negative opinion about Korean food
There is a Japanese fast food restaurant nearby my house, however it is run by a really nice Korean man, very gracious and friendly. He sells a lot of korean style food as well, and it is very good. Be nice to pick up some Korean words and phrases to say that i like the food or something.
Hmm Steve pace yourself. I hope you didn't get a stomach ache. What is the red doors that looks like a refrigerator.
What were you eating that is heaven? It's funny. I ordered from a Korean restaurant tonight the food was good. Wish I was there to try the mando (sp?) bread. Holy ...I thought were going to say something else..lol
What would I eat from Korea that I haven't tried yet? Take this sound bit of advice: if I see it, make sure to avoid being between me and it, just as a matter of safety.
your videos are AWESOME!!! keep up the good work

@Graehaus I'd recommend trying some 찜닭 (jjimdalk). It's a savory chicken noodle dish. Usually served for multiple people. Quite nice and very savory.
