  • looks the same, having a smaller screen the better resolution u will get

  • So, it doesn't upscaling it to 1080p?

Too bad i'm looking for convertor that upconvert Wii to 1080p because i hate jaggies in some games

  • Breathe into my ear bby ;)

  • Is it support PS2?

  • @townnet No

  • You need the Homebrew Channel.

  • @dimmddr1 Is it easy to do? I've been thinking about doing that for a while.

  • @crusherbad64 Extremely. I'll PM you the link.

  • @dimmddr1 Alright, thanks. This might make a cool video.

  • I have the 480p cables and a hd Tv so should I get this wii2hmdi?? Is it 2x better than the 480p cables?

  • @asianmanxDD no it is not.. you will barely see any difference

  • @asianmanxDD It's a lot better!

  • dAAAa you can conect an adapter for the audio to use tv speakers with rca

  • I thought upconverting a video source required a separate video processor.

  • It sticks out like a sore thumb. D:

  • Same signal of 480p, but now yer doing 480p digital through HDMI vs 480p analog on component, there will be slight improvement, but it's not gonna look dramatically like uprezing things to 1080p;

  • @Medalion 480p is 480p whether its HDMI or Component, the only difference is HDMI is a digital signal and component is analog. there's no signal lost over HDMI so you'll get no lost in quality but component you'll get some lost in quality. I do game captures on the PS3 on 720p on component and I can tell it looks worst than 720p on HDMI. If you want something that upscale's then look for one that does that. I only bought this because I wanted the Wii to go to my AV 5.1 surround system.

  • @crusherbad64 Exactly what I was trying to get at in my first comment lol, I agree with you.

  • @crusherbad64 Yes, HDMI is better than component. I did the same test on my 360. However, the Wii doesn't output digital signal. The Wii2HDMI just takes the component signal and converts to an HDMI output. Weakest link in the chain is the one who determines the quality.

  • Dude. Great vid but do some cardio! you sound like your dying!

  • so does it make it better? yes or no? im thinking of buying one, because i bought the 480p cables from nintendo and it still looks all blurry on my 1080p tv.

  • @SuperMetalWorm That's because you are taking a 480p signal and blowing it up to a 1080p screen, its going to do that.

  • @SuperMetalWorm It won't make it any better. The Wii2HDMI doesn't upscale the picture. It's still 480p. Turn the sharpness up on your TV, maybe that will help a little.

  • @SuperMetalWorm this thing does NOT scale anything to 1080p...it just lets you use 480p trough HDMI just like other people said.

  • @SuperMetalWorm Have you tried setting the Wii to 480i when using the component cables? I know first hand that some televisions display the 480i signal better... regardless if you're using component cables or not. My Toshiba 46SV670U displays other 480p sources perfectly fine, but for whatever reason the Wii looks far clearer/sharper in 480i. And yes people, I know the difference between composite and component. LoL.

  • Is surround sound better than stereo?

  • @vic485 Yes

  • I just ordered it, how long did it take to arrive?

  • @Larrymoviedude9909 only 2 years. its not really worth it. you would've saved a lot of money if you just bought a 5 dollar component cable on amazon. same picture quality.

  • well I can tell you what happens for me... it fucking sucks!! it makes the resolution worse than 240p!!

  • @skariskari I'm sorry to hear that.

  • LOL @ 6:30 I was thinking exact same thing "SO EXCITING!" Great video. I'm convinced! Gonna order mii one of those right now! nintendo 480p needs all the help it could get. Even if it's just a little. Still worth it for me :D

  • @Asbak This one only does 480p. It doesn't upscale.

  • btw did the wii2hdmi take away a lot if not all the latency lag?

component takes away a lot too just not all

  • did i just cut the corner of this?

    lol

  • Hey mate. Would the Wii look as good a you say even with an official Nintendo component cable?

  • @ninenine909 It would. It's not necessary to buy one of these things. I only bought it because I have a 5.1 surround sound system and it only uses HDMI, so this works for me.

  • kk

  • hey guys i need you help i want a vote ether i do a unboxing vid and gameplay of the hdmi or just gameplay or just unboxing i need a vote guys i get it in 3 days!!!! please vote!!!

  • @dog336735 try and get some mw3 gameplay using the wii2HDMI

  • thank you for the video

  • 'Did I just cut the corner of this?.....Anyway.' I don't know why but that made me lol

  • what was the usb port u put in

  • Ugh, help!!!! I hooked up my Wii with the universal component cable from Gamestop that has 3 adapters on the Wii end to fit Sony Microsoft & Nintendo consoles. It works well for my PS2 slim. But when I change it over to the Wii the color is B&W. Do you know why that would be? My Sony Google TV only has 4 HDMI inputs & 1 Component. No composite. Will this work to hook up the Wii to an HDMI port? With color? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanx

  • @bubbiz99 I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work. But it might be the gamestop cable is bad. Go try a different cable for the wii before ordering just to make sure its not the Wii itself. If you have a Fry's Electronics near you, they have a version of the Wii2HDMI that goes up to 1080p, but I never used that one so I don't know how good that one would be.

  • @crusherbad64 Thanks for the info. I live in Alaska & there is no local place to buy the Wii2HDMI that I can find. I don't think we have a Fry's in my frozen land. The Wii works fine on my old HDTV that has composite input so it isn't the console. I'm gonna try the Wii2HDMI. I will comment again so maybe someone else can benefit from what I tried. Thanks again for the info. Great vid!

  • @crusherbad64 Is the Wii2HDMI plugin better that a component cable?

  • @glitchyjoe64 I think it is because its a digital connection and no lost of quality, but some say they see no difference. So it really depends on how good your TV is. HDTV's for the most part is pretty weak when it comes to analog to digital, but if the HDTV is getting a digital signal already, then no need to convert the signal.

  • @bubbiz99 There is a switch on the cable...flip it and it will be fine. I'm sure you already know that by now though.

  • Doe this works with a plasma tv ?

  • @transstory66 Yes If you have hdmi and the tv is hd compitable it dosen´t matter what kind of tv it is :)

  • will gamecube games run in hd as well since wii has backwards compatibility?

  • @22CinimoD44 yes.

  • "And I got sniped" Thats what happens when you buy a wiihd2 adapter. LOL

  • FAIL

  • @crusherbad64 does the wii2hdmi work on a tv also

  • i dont like how you breathe :(

  • Would this work for with Sony google Internet tv???I saw reviews that they are not compatible. That it lags. But will this straighten it out?

  • Does this fix the horizontal line issue ?

  • @Jeroenske I never noticed that issue with mine, regardless which cable I use.

  • omg......we have the same exact desk......

  • u have the same tv that i have

  • Ok i had/have a problem. I have an hdtv. I had both the ps3 and wii connected to it through composite cables. The problem was whenever it played either console, the timing was off. What i mean by that is that there was a 2 second delay on the screen whenever i pressed a button. I bought an hdmi for the ps3 and i no longer had any sort of delay on the screen. Will buying a wii2hdmi get rid of any delay i have whenever im playing on the wii?? Do you experience any lag/delay with wii2hdmi?

  • @MassG69 When you are connecting an analog connection to a HDTV which is what composite is, the HDTV has to convert it to digital, so the TV you have isn't converting quick enough for 1:1 response. HDTVs today are designed for digital connections and works best that way because the HDTV doesn't have to convert anything. The Wii2HDMI might help with the issue you are having because the adapter converts the signal to digital before going to the HDTV. So this might help but I can't guarantee it.

  • @crusherbad64 thanks for your opinion.

  • thnxs 4 the post ~ have no clue what 2 expect ~

Us wii dorks have 2 stick 2gether

  • I like you, I think ima subscribe

  • Have you heard about the Wii U the successor of the Wii it will carry HD Graphics up to 1080p so cool

  • @ElMelwin59 I did. I hope its better than the 3DS because right now I don't care about the 3DS. Maybe when better games comes out and a price drop.

  • @crusherbad64 Zelda rules but most games suck

  • damn it now i want one. need money T.T

  • can you use with a call of duty BO GAME?

  • Is that the Sony NX713 HDTV?

  • Is there any input lag (more then 5ms) on these analog -> digital converters?

  • what do you think we want with your information and address?

  • This just goes to show how utterly stupid and backwards-ass like fuck Nintendo was for NOT including an HDMI output on the Wii.

At the very least, they should have gave us a VGA output or something.

Like how difficult or expensive would that have been?

  • LOL u got sniped in the HEAD 13:59 - 14:02

  • what a stupid way to unpack it

  • 6:42 watch like a retarded face pop out, u can so imagine that

  • you don't know S.. about how to make a review...boring and inconsistent...

  • anyone knows if this works with gamecube and N64?

  • does it help stop the jaggies from anti aliasing?

  • fuck this LMAO. BTW, your nails are minging.

  • HI! I just receive my Wii2HDMI Converter in the mail today (finally!) I have everything set up correctly (as far as I know), but I am not picking up any sound or picture. When I switch between the different TV IMPUTS, nothing shows. When I plug in the standard cables (red, green, etc) that come with the console, I am getting a picture. Can someone PLEASE help me? I have emailed there customer service department but I am really ready to just get things moving... Any help is much appreciated!

  • @LakersLuv24 Did you switch to 480p? Did you try another HDMI cable?

  • This product is shipped from Hong Kong and takes forever to arrive if order.

It has been a month since I ordered, but I still haven't got the product.

  • how does it look with gamecube games?

  • is that works well with game cube games?? i can't find any info about this!

  • Nevermind, I asked to someone else, and for anyone who is wondering as i was, it works :)

  • @Pierre2631 If you're connecting this to a computer monitor, make sure your computer monitor has 480i support.

  • @helsharidy123 Don't forget that the Wii does display in 480p

  • @crusherbad64

problem is if your computer monitor doesn't have 480i support, gamecube games that only play in 480i, as well as virtual console games that almost all play in 480i, will not display.

  • @helsharidy123 That's weird. I never tried gamecube games but from the VC games I played, they all work.

  • @crusherbad64

does your monitor have 480i support?

  • @crusherbad64

does your monitor have 480i support? i know mine does. i'm really excited for this to come, i ordered it about 3 weeks ago and it should be coming next week sometime.

  • I am wondering if this is the better option over a VDIGI VD-W3, especially considering this thing is cheaper in cost and doesn't occupy a usb port.

  • @mythias This only converts to a digital signal, this doesn't upscale. If you don't care about a dramatic improvement over component, this would be fine. But if you are looking to bump the video to 1080p, then this is not for you.

  • also have you played galaxy with it? my wii only looks ok with component on my 47 lcd 1080p capable tv .... i hope it makes a difference, i hate the fuzziness of the picture which is more noticeable on the main screen and text

  • will you buy the VDIGI VD-W3?

  • How long did it take to arrive since the date of order, please?

  • @helsharidy123 about 2 weeks.

  • @crusherbad64

    Oh damn =o

  • How long did it take to ship to North America?

  • @jbaird1981 around 2 weeks.

  • @crusherbad64 so it's worth the near 50 bucks? I've only got one component set on my tv, and it's in use by my xbox (which lacks hdmi). I don't really have a choice. oh well.

  • @jbaird1981 Its worth it if you don't want the upconverter which uses a usb port. But If you think the Wii looks fine the way it is, just keep the setup you have. I got the Wii2HDMI more for the Wii going to my AV so that can do the switching and not the TV. That's my reasoning for getting this. But getting this for better quality is very minimal with this.

  • @crusherbad64 What's the hole near the hdmi port? Is that an audio jack? If so, I thought the audio and video was carried through HDMI?

  • @jbaird1981 That is a audio jack, some people get this so you can connect the wii to a computer monitor and you get some speakers and connect it to the back of the wii2hdmi.

  • @crusherbad64 but not necessary if you're using hdmi only?

  • @jbaird1981 you can get hdmi to dvi cables, and if you use that, then you would need the audio port on it.

  • Where can I buy this?

  • @S2Anju neoya.com

  • @TheHartyboy you could if you had a upconverter.

  • rob ur such a tool man..

  • damn man, you need to start getting some aerobic/cardio exercises. The way you breath is not good sign. ..... ty for the review.

  • Crusherbad64

You mention you were using component

Cables before you bought the wii2hdmi

Were they basic or hd components?

I would like too buy this but I read hd

    Components are no different from

The wii2hdmi please get back too me

    Thanks.

  • @supremfire31 This is what I used: Monster GameLink™ Component Video and Stereo Audio A/V Kit for Nintendo Wii, I got them at Target for about $25. The difference you are going to get from component and HDMI is component is a analog and HDMI is digital. I would first try component first before getting the Wii2HDMI just because its easier to try it first. The difference isn't going to be much. The quality difference depends on how good the component cables are because its analog and it degrades.

  • dude is that a sony bravia?? NICE! I've got one and the quality is still pretty crap even with the wii2hdmi. What did you do??

  • @Mikko2143658709 I'm also using a surround sound system from Sony and everything is going to the AV reciever then to the TV, maybe that's why. What model TV you have?

  • @crusherbad64 ive got a 55" hx800, its connected to an av receiver, but my wii's directly connected to the tv since ive got a load of consoles and such connected to the receiver... I'll try connecting the wii hdmi cable to my receiver and see if that helps.

    Thanks! ^_^

  • @Mikko2143658709 It might be because you have a 55" and the larger LCD screen you use the worst the video looks on lower resolution videos. Before I changed my TV, I had a CRT and all the videos I had on the PS3 looked fine, but showing the same videos on a 40" hdtv and it looks like crap. That's one thing CRT TV's has always been great at was scaling and black levels. Something 99% of HDTV's has trouble in.

  • Great review, if a little lengthy (a 5 minute review could've been just as informative!). I'm surprised at the results that you got from this third-party Chinese adapter. The reason for the bump in video quality is that HDTVs contain terrible, low-cost analog to digital converters (ADC) because manufacturers are just cheap like that. This simply means that the ADC in the Wii2HDMI is actually higher-end than the one in your expensive TV!

I might get one because of this review, thanks.

  • @evildwarf Yeah, I knew it was long but I just wanted to make sure I'm able now to upload videos over 15 minutes long lol. It's true that most HDTV's has terrible ADC in them because that's one of the most pricier parts in a HDTV and because they think that we will just have all digital connections with HDMI that we don't need good ADC in them, in my case its true unless I connect a older console to the TV. But I watch TV using Hulu Plus and Netflix and Blu-ray movies plus the game consoles.

  • I want to know does it smoothen the jaggies in some of the wii games..Like Super Mario galaxy?

  • @BlooLegend not to much with the jaggies, this is more converting to a digital signal than anything else. From my setup (which may very between different setups) it look slightly better, the colors is better than the jaggies. Remember that this only improves just a little bit because the TV and the cable doesn't degrades the quallity of the video, nothing more. If you want something that converts to a higher resolution, check out the VD-W3 Wii HDMI Upscaler Processor.

  • dude do you ever use the ACOG scope on goldeneye Wii

  • @thesparta1812 from the times I play online, what I use in the video is enough to take the players down.

  • Lol at 3 hours later (assuming it was a joke), Looks like a good accessory, cool how it makes the picture better even without upconverting. Imagine if it did.

  • I would say it's probably the fact that the TV has to use it's own analog to digital converters so simply by feeding it a digital source to begin with means the TV doesn't have to convert it at all. The converter in this Wii2HDMI must be better. It all gets converted to digital at some point. Oh plus I guess this would take RGB and convert that to digital instead of that stupid YpBpr crap we use here in North America. I bet RGB is just better to begin with too. Pretty sweet little device.

  • @MN12BIRD You know I think you are right, because I forgot that cheaper HDTV's puts a crappy converter chip in the lower end TV's. Because most HDTV's over HDMI will look fine, its when you deal with analog is where the problem comes out. But yeah, so far I'm really enjoying this thing. It makes you wonder why not just stick HDMI built in the Wii and call it a day with newer versions.

  • no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no yes no!

  • @coocoopants324 So is that what the woman says in bed to you? LMAO, just kidding of course.

  • Wow seems very nice!

  • @MaximumRD It is, I forgot to say in the video that most HDTV's are crap for analog sources so even using this and still 480p will look better than component.
