There are no wankle engines in vintage karting. The term "rotary valve" is the carb manifold induction valve. Most 2-stroke engines used on karts and other vehicles use piston port induction or reed valve induction. Rotary valves are usually a disc that rotates on the crank, the disc has a section cut out, so when the disc rotates it opens and closes a port to the crankcase for the carb to feed through. This is considered the highest performance induction method for a 2-stroke engine.
No other class in karting has ever had so much SMOKE! Luckily nobody from the EPA has stopped by our vintage races! My kart gets about 4 miles/gallon, I think half of that fuel is just for cooling the motor and leaves as Smoke! The track was very slippery in the sections without sealer (the tight section), it was hard to get on the power much at all in these sections.
These karts are a thrill to drive, but running faster than most of these guys is a real challenge since almost everyone running in this class is a former Grand National Champion, like these guys starting in front of me: Lake Speed, Terry Trader, Troy Brown, Kurt Burris and Bob Lapke.
rotary valve engine 2 holes in the rod and replace at 45 min the roller cage ,,,thats the problem
