Continuation of comment-In 1993 was the van

bombing in the underground garage of the World

Trade Center. In 1995 was the truck bombing of the

Oklahoma City federal building holding FBI, ATF, DEA,

etc. After those incidents security was strongly

enhanced to prevent unauthorized vehicles from

getting into underground garages of federal buildings.

The conspirators could not reasonably predict that

the FBI agent would come to the scene & tell the

security force to not stop the analyst .

I can't imagine a real-world scenario where bombing conspirators would try to involve a terrorism analyst (who was a friend of an FBI agent) in a plot to try to get a bomb into the underground garage of an FBI building. When the analyst began suspecting his neighbors of plotting terrorism I believe an aggressive FBI agent would have begun extensive surveillance of the Robbins-Cusack characters & their co-conspirators. Smart conspirators would never take such a risk. Comment continues-

Like getting next doors mail by accident, the blue prints of another building how would you explain that the he's an architect with blue prints? People are like it's his job to have blue prints. The bad guys probably kinda knew that the FBI friend would sorta think that he's insane.

would know that the odds of Bridges being able to get

the car into the parking garage beneath the FBI

Building would be incredibly low. They would not know

that his FBI friend would come to the scene & be able

to persuade the security force to not stop him with

gunfire before he entered the parking garage.

@LoneTinaja I assumed that it was part of the terrorist's plot to move into the house across the street, not just coincidence. I also inferred that they put the bomb in the trunk of the rental car when Tim Robbins was in the warehouse beating up Jeff Bridges. That's why when Jeff Bridges "escaped" Tim Robbins got on his walkie talkie and said that the plan was a go. Also, it was probably much less implausible to assume he'd be able to drive right into the FBI building in 1999 (before 9-11).

The actors gave excellent performances. Unfortunately

the plot is highly implausible, beginning with the fact that

a researcher on terrorism just happens to live across

the street from people conspiring to blow up the FBI

Building. Throughout the film there are other implausible

events, culminating with the most implausible series of

events, beginning with the terrorists' decision to put the

bomb in the trunk of Bridges' rental car. Comment

what this movie is really trying to show people is that assasinations are generally carried out by using regular people. Most guys who do them are patsys or under some hypnotic mind control or something else that makes them a pawn. Generally no one acts alone.

This movie is so awesome. It really reflects peoples paranoia about terrorism and conspiracies in the 90's. Another great example of paranoia and the belier in conspiracies in the 90's was the tv series the X-Files.
