Maybe I wasn't very clear. The government of Iraq under Hussein was far more secular than it was religious. You didn't see women in body-covering shawls unless they were old. And Saddam kept the Sunnis and Shiites from slitting each others' throats by sheer power.

Maybe I wasn't very clear. The government of Iraq under Hussein was far more secular than it was religious. You didn't see women in body-covering shawls unless they were old. And Saddam kept the Sunnis and Shiites from slitting each others' throats by sheer power.
As to the oil situation it is YOU who need to do your research. Hussein was negotiating oil contracts with the Far East(China, North Korea etc). This was unacceptable to bu$h and his oil cronies so he had to go.

American oil companies, british oil companies are exploiting the oil of iraq hardly none of oil revenue is being used to rebuild iraq. My husband deploys to iraq for the second time in september 2006. He didn't ask to go and kill but he has to, and he does it so he can come back home to his family.

Quite frankly, I plan to go and fight. If we're still in Iraq sometime late this year or next year, which I highly believe we'll still be there, then I'm going to serve my country.
I love America.. I support the war.. I feel sad for those who died, but I am glad they are now in a better place.
