France is one of the few sound, productive western economies, thanks to its social welfare programs, public-sector investment, and trade protection. Moreover, the neoliberal/fascist model has failed spectacularly.

what you dont seem to understand is that those that you would rely upon to tax the rich are the super rich which hold both the monetary system and make your legislation. They would be ever so happy to tax everyone you think is rich but is peanuts compared to them. Another thing that you dont understand is that neoliberalism/fascism is NOT freemarket.. its state sponsored monopoly. Free trade is a more complicated subject, I admit that. Its just that we dont really have a completely free trade.

Yes, neo-liberalism, the free-market (also known as the flea market), and fascism are all synonymous. Fascism is the inevitable result of the so-called "free market." Maybe not according to your economic religion, but in reality, that has always proven to be the case.

As for free trade, you're right, we don't have "completely free trade," and we never will. It is a fantasy. The real agenda of laissez-fairists is to create a nanny-state to take care of the rich - everyone else be damned.

See, the problem is that you are unable to separate the theology of your laissez-faire religion from how things actually work in reality. There has not been, nor will there ever be, a pristine "free market" in anything but the most backwards societies. The entirety of corporate capitalism only developed because of state subsidies, credits, and protective tariffs. Without some combination of those, what happens is deindustrialization and general economic destruction (the "race to the bottom").

Check your history. Fascism has ALWAYS grown from socialist parties, indeed from self-named workers' parties. This was the case in both Germany and Italy. It has NEVER grown from a free market state.

Only simple people make parallels between Nazi Germany and everything else. Historical events happen in their own specific context.

A quick look at the "List of facist movement" on wiki will make you realize that facism is not isolated to pre-war Germany and Italy and that it evolves from all types of government. The current context (economic, political stability, security, etc...) of a given country is much more important than its politlcal parties names. Each are unique in their respective context. Your parallels are irreleavant.
