  • Did u make this? Lol

  • Gotta say, the one they decided to go with eventually was slightly better, this is full of spoilers, plus the gunblade fight feels a little out of place in this version

  • FF7 SUUUUCKS

8 was the only good one.

  • This opening is great, but I'm glad they didn't use it. This one shows to much of the story and the one they used is very good as it is.

  • its odd how they used the ballroom music at the middle of the video

  • in my opinion ff games hav ben lacking since 10. 7,8,9 legendary, 11,12 shit with 10 somewhere in the middle. ( dont even et me started on 10 'part 2'.) i think the primary fuck ups are worse writing and the use of shoddy voice acting (try legacy of kain

for an example of yhat should be done)

  • 0:48 That helicopter sound really did not fit at all...AT ALL!

  • I feel the primary problem with the new FF games (especially 13), is how over-writen they are. Every piece of dialogue must tell us how the characters feel. Visual mediums are more about showing, not telling. It wasn't as heavy handed in prior games, or at least it did a better job of making itself feel organic. What do you guys think?

By the way, I think the tone might be slightly insulting here. Could we maybe tone it down?

  • @themole90 I agree. There was far too much heavy-handedness and over angsty dialogue in the latest FF. I also miss the 'silliness' that some of the previous games had. Sure they were mostly serious, but they also silly elements that lightened the mood every now and then (Tifa/Scarlet slap fight in FF7, Moomba sidequests in FF8, etc). FF13 felt like it was too scared to have a bit of fun. And the game really suffered for it imo.

  • @pokupokupoku What are you talking about? Sazh's only purpose was to break the tension.

  • Nine or ten were the last "official" Squaresoft Final Fantasy games made by that company, BEFORE the company integration with Enix. they were once completely separate companies which in itself might have been interesting to see how they would have grown on their own.

  • Epic game, epic opening. This trailer is good though.

  • WHY WAS RINOA AT DOLLET EVACUATION??!! WOOOOTZZ

  • It's a good trailer, but not suitable for the intro of the game

  • ooooh! I like it :D My memory card kept messing up so I never got to get past the first disc of VIII - then someone stole my discs I think, or they got lost. Thankfully I can still buy it new on Amazon though ^ ^

  • no wonder why they didnt use it hahaha

  • This was not an unused opening, but a trailer!

How tiring it is to read this kind of thing on youtube!

  • Gunlightsabers?

  • I have this on an old trailers disc. I thought it was a trailer, not an alternate opening.

  • the fuck ? ..

    this is shit..

  • lol. nitpick a VIDEO GAME. its a GAME. not real life. i think you acne infused kids need to realize this. THANK GOD i grew up before this sit on your ass and do nothing fad! my 1 question is.

in the ragnorak, how the hell do you go backwards from the elevator to the bridge, and your upstairs. go around, there are no stairs needed... FLAW!

  • 1.) having a spirit in your body, just like materia grants you power, wow. Pathetic simple idea, and you can't grasp it. Just like a angel was inside us we would gain access to its power or some sort of power. 2) Again, it all has to do with the cycle of Deja Vu, of reality. Squall from the future explained to Edea (Matron) what was going to happen and what she should be done, as Edea took the power at that time Ultimecia's power. Dude, man so simple.

  • this is pretty good

  • 3:27 haha reminds me of chuckie XD

  • This doesn't even FEEL like an opening scene. It honestly looks like somebody took the cutscenes throughout the game and chopped them up along with the opening scene. Too much is revealed, and sound effects from said cut-scenes weren't even taken out. Not to mention the awkward halt of the music when the Gunblade falls from the sky and lands on the ground.

  • @Aerivanna

thats the feeling i got, i get the feeling that this was fanmade, cause im pretty sure i played that demo disc and it didnt have this in it

  • @stridren It actually did, i had it.

  • Frankly I'm glad they didn't use this as the opening, I liked being surprised by the missile attack and train mission and what not.

  • This FMV was for the Demo though was it not?

  • @21evil1 No, the demo was on Dollet w/e mission

  • @21evil1 It was used for the video demo. But not the playable one. :)

  • I would have disappointed were this used for the opening, too much is revealed, too many FMVs shown.

  • ........why did rinoa take selphie place during the giant robot spider chase? =p

  • @alronnie60 Probably intended Rinoa to be met earlier at that point

  • I'm actually kind of glad they didn't use this one. It's too much for an opening and it's not really that great.

  • Oh my goodness, those sound effects. UNF.

  • @freddumpling UNF?

I'm glad they dropped them and added more realistic ones. I like thiso pening overall more though.

  • the original opening was better than this hehehe

  • @joahanaLacrymosza 電撃PlayStation

  • @OkWheresMyMonkey

6-7-8-10 are the highest and most successful of the bunch as a sole of the game. Not the x-2, or 7 spin offs, i mean just the games themselves. 8 sold the most of all, until AC came out. Which honestly, is BS. Tidus is okay.. compared to Vaan. Vaan was never on my team.

  • Hehe Squall and Seifer's duel sound more like a lightsaber battle :D

  • everyone love 7. i cant say i dont. but 8 was such of a break through if you look at it story and graphic wise compared from 7 and previous ones. lol though people from 7 all have anime eyes and stubs. i love the graphics of this one. i wish theyd re-do it with voices. it would be amazing.

  • @MoogleYuna69 yes 8 was better imo. the graphics of 7 were crap compared to this

  • I love that the opening was supposed to use more scenes from the game including the train sequence, but the sounds and the break in "Liberi Fatali" are messed up if not unforgivable.

  • i find it strange that FF likes abusing trains....

  • :'(

  • I can see why they didn't use this one. So many spoilers XD

  • @AnarchistGoth Plus it shows Rinoa standing at the Dollet coast at 1:36 instead of Selphie like it was in the demo lol

  • fucking video brings me nostalgia that i cant control the chills, gotta love ff8

  • chills were sent.

    up my spine.

  • the helicopter sound doesn't work too well, seems out of place.

  • is this real? Doesn't look like it. It doesn't have a single second of unseen FMV. Might as well be a fan project

  • @johnpasma Yeah, it's real, but you're right, it is all scenes from the other FMVs in the game. The fact that it's called 'the unused opening' isn't really acuate, since it was from a 'preview disc' and that's exactly what it is-a preview, not something that they were ever actually going to use for the opening (as you can see, there are plenty of clips from the real opening).

  • This is used in the remake for ps3....

  • @RighteousRiaden Where is it used man? The only extra thing that they made for FF8 is the Tech Demo in PS2. Never heard anything for PS3 if you have a link, just show it.

  • MY GOODNESS, TRAINS UNCOUPLING WHILE MOVING! TRULY THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE EPIC!

I watched this trailer sooo many times when I was like 14.

  • I'm glad they didn't go with this as the opening. It looks good to be an advertisement, but as an opening it gives away way too much right off the bat. And some of the sound effects didn't go well. Like the helicopter-ish sound in the flower field, and the electricity sound with the gunblades.

  • Comment removed

  • @PixiSammy It's really not an unused version it's been altered. You obviously must be a dumbass to believe that

  • Sorry for saying this.. but you're all such fools. :)

This "unsused" opening is a mixture of various ingame cutscenes and the actual opening itself.

    :)

  • Different...I'll give it that but I feel it shows too much & confuses the player rather than setting them up for the game. The sword electricity sounds are pretty cheese & I don't like how the Fithos theme gets cut & interupted...that song is too awesome to be cut off lol.

I'm glad Square went with what they officially used, it set the tone for Squall & Rinoa's romance better & I commend Square for that. This is interesting...if from an alternet reality perspective...GO SLIDERS!!!!

  • I remember this video being on a demo for some PSX magazine before FF8 was released.

I remember being so amazed I would show this to friends at parties and most of them would agree it was awesome.

  • oh my gosh! this opening is awesome but why it was unused?

  • Because the sound editing is crap, and there's too much footage from later in the game that doesn't mesh well.

  • Ya know, this really wasn't an "alternate opening" as it was, well, what it was: an Advetisement. that simple. Take video scenes from the game, show the broadness of its story and situation in quick glimpses, and package it together for a 3 minute advert to make people want to buy it.

    Whatever case, I like it.

  • anyone notice rinoa standing in selphi's place at 1.35

  • never noticed it, and i have the original cd

  • @coxy2k6 Thats because that is from the demo. If you notice, Zell also doesn't have his uniform for the exam, rather his regular clothes. Search on youtube for the demo of FFVIII. They also used different music for the Dollet exam.

  • It's not bad. It has some good bits but ultimately I prefer the opening they chose to go with.

  • sehr interessant

  • VIII definitely had the best opening of any FF game, that's for sure.

lol, love Seifer's haircut. Squall really needs a trim :-)

  • @jamesgravil Agreed. If they made FFVIII into a movie, then the opening would make the best trailer.

  • heh it's kinda trippy, more like the endding of the game....heck they should of played this at the end of the game when the world gets all compresssseeed.

  • The sword sfx remind me of lightsabers..

  • Yeaaaaaah... so not liking this version. I'm glad they went with the version they did, this one jumps around way to much.

  • I know what you mean....... Have to admit, there are REALLY good SFX on the sword clashes and swings in this one. Otherwise, it does distract a liiiiittle bit of what the story's meant to be. For a trailer, hell yes. For the Opening... nuh-uh. Still cool though

  • Yeah, I did notice the sound effects in this one and they're totally awesome. :) Very realistic! But the way the sequences jump around from one to the other... the final version is much more steamlined and makes more sense. But this version is still cool in its own way. ^^

  • i think that this trailer should have been used in the game. I liked 8 more than 7 anyway.

  • ah finally, Ive been lookingfor this, thanks!

  • well it looks more like a preview than an opening to me

  • Remakes are generally a bad idea, especially when it comes to Final Fantasy. The only remake that got it perfect was the Resident Evil remake on Gamecube

  • Im ok with not having a remake, what i only ask is a movie like Advent Children but about FFVIII, i dont care if the story sucks like AC did i just wanna see them with the actual epic graphics and epic action scenes.

that would make my FF dream true.

  • I can honestly prove how VIII accomplished more and had a more unique and better story than 7. 7 is overrated. I love 7 but... 8 to me had more than 7 could do. A film would be sick. Squall fights maybe a White SeeD from the future who is bad lol idk... but they can make it loook better since Squall is a much better fighter than Cloud, and is faster and has more potentials.

  • Yeah,i also think Squall has a better fighting style than Cloud, not that Cloud is weak of course.

cloud has more power and Squall has more skills, its a fact that compared to all Final Fantasy games Squall is the one who had proved the most combos and skills with his weapon.also his fighting style with the gunblade is way too unique, ive watched his combos in Dissidia in slow motions and its awesome.

Squall in a movie would have amazing fighting choreography.

  • I can agree with everything you say except on the power part. Squall himself in 8 proved to be also a superhuman that can surpass Zack Fair. Squall's gunblade can become more powerful than the Bustersword. The Gunblade triggered shakes in high frequency can quickly over power a clash with the Buster sword. That is why Squall can take down Sephiroth more easier than Cloud did. I believe Squall physically is equal to Cloud. He has proven his power is high or even higher than Cloud. Also faster.

  • @JunDageki YEah he would bro

  • @squallthegriever Ever since i was young, i thght Squall can take on Sephiroth lol

  • @lcltomorei

Most likely of course. Even in Dissidia Squall's fighting abilities surpass in speed and rival that of Clouds. Squall is faster, more cunning, and has more of a fighting spirit, and also hates losing. Squall i more agile, can execute more powerful, and quicker combos and devastating blows, specially when he holds the trigger.

  • @squallthegriever you cant even start to compare Cloud to Squall or opposite... since then you have to take Clouds fighting in the movie into conisderation... and since we havent rly seen much of Squall's so called Swordsmanship.. other than the opening scene when he fights seifer... and there are other factors into play aswell... such as Cloud uses a giant HEAVY sword and Squall uses a gunblade. OFC Squall will be faster since his sword is lighter.Give Cloud 1-2 katanas and we got a equal fight

  • @Drakengard65 BS man, that GIANT SWORD shit gets over said man. In Dissidia they showed Cloud and Squalls Fighting styles, and Squalls Gunblade is not as simple to use as you think man. Squall himself is a superhuman, and Cloud only swings his sword to bash his enemies, Squall actually has skills, Dissidia counts since it did portray Clouds AC fighting style. In the opening it showed exactly how they fight and Sephiroth picks a fight with him, and Squall Hits seem as effective or even more -----

  • @Drakengard65 ---------than Clouds. You can not ignore it just cause it's Dissidia, cause again, it showed how weak and useless some of them were, take into consideration Ultemacia was a GOD of time, space and dimension and he beat her, and also in strength and stamina the ice shard that was more MORE deadlier and stronger than just a stab in the stomach Cloud was hit by, by Sephiroth. Squall's strength may be a good point weaker than Clouds, but Squall again is a faster, and more tactical.

  • @squallthegriever i can agree with that Squall is more tactical... but Cloud got more brute strenght than Squall... and he is pretty fast aswell with that big sword... so imo IF you ever were gonna match those 2 up i belive the fight will be an unbelivable close fight for both of em

  • @Drakengard65 Alot of ppl think Cloud is sooo powerful compared to Squall, the thing is Squall himself is a superhuman, and thus he also can pull the trigger in his Gunblade that shakes and powers up his attacks, thus if he clashes with Clouds blade/s it would recoil Cloud's attack. Squall is not that far from the damage he can do, maybe a point off, but Squalls, speed, attitude, no mercy mind, and powerful attacks beat Cloud in the end, that is why they are always put together in KH.

  • @squallthegriever well i belive that if they had a fight it would be equal... Since they both got strong sides and weak sides, but as comrades in battle... they would be unstoppable... cause to say it in a diffrent way... they kinda fulfill eachothers weaknesses:D

  • @squallthegriever we both got our opinion :D I in my opinion think Cloud is slightly stronger than Squall Overall... but as i said that is me :D I love both Characters since they are the 2 best characters in the whole Final Fantasy game genre. Playing through both games atm :D PS3 + PS store ftw :D

  • @Drakengard65 In strength Yes, Cloud has down. from 1-10, Cloud is a 9, and Squall is a good 8 in strength. As in abilities from everything i have seen, and story, Squall is faster, a real swordsman, not just bashes the sword around, as Squall is a prodigy, since a young age he started fighting, at age 17 Squall defeated a villain as or even more powerful that Sephiroth since Ultimecia did become also a god, and controlled time, space, and dimension Age 17, Cloud was just a average foot soldier-

  • @Drakengard65 As in over all Speed, Tactics, Focus, Skills, and abilities, Squall can own Cloud in after a long battle, since Cloud has a high Stamina just like Squall, and a better offense defense system with his Buster Sword. Although the greatest match would be Squall/Cloud vs Genesis/Sephiroth. I do believe WoL, and Jecth are elite fighters.

  • @Drakengard65 Yeah, give Cloud more weapons and he'd win...I can agree with that. Hell you give Ghandhi more weapons and he'd win in a fight. Good Call Drake...

  • @squallthegriever yea i never really liked 7 until i played crisis core. i loved ff8 until i played ffx then they both became my #1 fav game :D and its the story thats good, like you said. ff12 +ff13 is nothing compared to these. its now more graphic, less story D:

  • @squallthegriever VIII had a magic system which was never really explained in detail, a protagonist and heroine which were the only characters with depth, clothing that did not fit into the societies of the world, a tedious combat system that require you to draw for hours at times and a story with so many plot holes in it that it makes me squirm replaying it as an adult.

But do I like it? Yes I do. At least it had sidequests and exploration. I think IX is the best.

    Zidane > Cloud AND Squall.

  • @banglefaar They did explain the magic system, and all the way from the creators mouths, from Kitase and Nomura. Tetsuya stated the GF and DRAW system were to add difficulty to the game. 7 was so easy with all the options they gave it. So many abilities and what nots that made the game broken.. and in its own way, lose itself from battle essence. 8 was made harder on porpuse, monsters leveling up with Squalls level, and a very amazing story. Plot holes? i think 7 and 9 have more, even X.

  • @squallthegriever (5) Every character is explained, even when they are split apart. The towns, quests, history and technology all fit. The antagonist has a point for being pissed and the final boss himself (while explained very late in the game) is explained.

Necron makes a whole lot more sense than Ultimecia wanting to compress time? Why does she want to do it other than "she is evil". There is no purpose behind it. Sorry, but the facts do stand and i'd rather venture with Zidane than a emo.

  • @squallthegriever (3) C) Why did Headmaster Cid give Squall a magic lamp with the devil in it...for no reason.

    D) Why do the contracts of SeeD make no logical sense? These are mercenaries that are supposed to take work until ultimately they come upon and defeat the sorceress. They appear to be "secretive" in operations...yet it's obvious that the only merc's in the whole world come from various gardens. So it doesn't matter on keeping things on the down low, thus Zell's outburst means nothing.

  • @banglefaar C.) again, Cid knew just like Maltron the burden Squall would have to go through, and in games alot of stupid things are given to characters that aids them in the future, man so fucken logical man.

D.) they didnt wanna say it was froma garden, because not all the enemies would know which Garden it was from, and it still be cool to keep it on lowkey, dude, ur asking stupid question and loop wholes, man.. also some things are meant for us 2 speculate.. haha

  • @squallthegriever (2) How many GF's are out there in the world? Because Squall and his group surely don't have EVERY GF out there in the world. If that is the case, can more than one person have the same GF? Because I would assume every SeeD has a GF given that it's part of being a SeeD. Can someone else in the world own a Ifrit GF too? Or does Squall own it only. This is what I am talking about it not making any sense.

Simple? Maybe for a moron that accepts everything without really analyzing.

  • @banglefaar 2. for the GF's system.. I am sure only Squall owns it, and yes i am sure they have in that world more than the GF you use. Think about it when selphie said she used a GF when she was younger. Away from the Garden, or early in the Garden days. It is simple, it sounds like 8 is the one you are doing this 2 only. Speculation and loopholes.. haha, FF is king on that. specially with 7. BUt thats a different story, to me all those questions you have, A or Clues are given and u analyze 2

  • @squallthegriever FF8 is by far the worst when it comes to plot holes, that tends to happen with any time travel/compression or whatever type story. Mess with time and expect loopholes, period. Sadly, however... the loopholes in this game's plot extended beyond that as mentioned by banglefaar. Oh well, as long as a game has the Final Fantasy name in it people will go gaga over it so of course my words will fall on deaf ears.

  • @TenchiHawkwing Yeah, well to me 7, and 12 had loop holes, and 7 is so overrated with ist typical anime plot line. Loop holes, all FF have em, alot actually 2

  • @squallthegriever I'm no huge FF7 fan but I am a pretty big anime fan, if you know of some anime with a plot similar to FF7s go ahead and tell me about them because I'd like to watch them. I surely haven't seen any similar anime other than Last Order (but that was a FF7 anime, so I don't think that counts)

  • @TenchiHawkwing

The truth is FF8 has no plot holes whatsoever. Just because you fail to grasp the full extent of the story, does not actually somehow alter the game to make the plot be deficient in any way. If you think the plot has holes, it's all in your head. That's where the holes are - not in the game.

As for games just being named FF and people going gaga over it..

Newsflash: FF8 is a real FF by Square.

Now, anything by Square Enix... Yeah, absolutely; pure bullshit and not canon.

  • @MegaStuff So true.

  • @MegaStuff i was only fully aware of the whole plot after i played the game much later, when i was much older.

  • @MegaStuff (Don't get me wrong in saying this, VIII is probably my favorite Final Fantasy I've played).

I don't know it seems like a plot hole to me that no one suggested killing Odine and destroying all his work thus making it so Ultimecia never got her hands on a junction machine Ellone. Of course the characters could have been too good hearted to suggest something like that and the way time worked could have prevented it but still I think someone could have suggested it.

  • @MegaStuff "If you think the plot has holes, it's all in your head. That's where the holes are - not in the game."

I see what you did there ;)

  • @MegaStuff LOL. Just a stupid fanboy. SE does make some good games as well as bad ones.

  • @squallthegriever (1) Wrong, it's called lousy writing. And the GF thing you are claiming is a theory, because if that were the case, than how did the soldiers cast magic if they weren't junctioned to a GF? You see? It's a stupid idea that needed alot more explanation than it got. I don't know why you are telling me on the formation of SeeD coming from Squall. I never said that was a problem as it made perfect sense. I said the antagonist made no fucking sense because she had no motives.

  • @banglefaar Dude the Galbadian soldiers used their blades to cast magic, have you not noticed how the blade they carry sparks or shines or whatever when they did. the other soldiers without that blade never used Magic. Lousy writing? So when people write stuff to make people speculate its called lousy? Wow so many authors do that and get awards.. even when they do that

  • @squallthegriever (2) Let's start with the basics. A) Why did Seifer get reprimanded during the SEED operation when his party was insubordinate in following orders simply because they didn't like Seifer (aka Zell and Squall)?

    B) Why were Squall, Selphie and Zell then made SeeDs given their actions? At least Seifer was thinking of the entire situation. I guess military thinking and strategy doesn't apply here because he's the "bad guy".

  • @squallthegriever (1) No, they never explained in game how the GF's work and how it attributes magic into a person. How do they draw magic? Why only a limited stock? The most they said was that it gives memory lapses every now and again. The game was extremely easy. All you needed was aura and a few holy wars and nothing could stand in your way.

As for story, it had huge plot holes. I'll name a few right now for the sake of debate. You can choose to agree with them or not, but they are facts.

  • @banglefaar (4) You see? The list goes on. Don't even get me started on the telecommunications program having silence for years on end and yet the world has a super advanced space program. How the hell did they pull that off?

For the most part, I enjoy the game more for nostalgia, but the story and characters nearly don't make any sense other than the small segments with Laguna (who I think the game should have completely revolved around). IX had plot holes? Really? Where?

  • @squallthegriever Shit man, at least use some facts to back up your extremely immature and fanboyish comment. Just because something's your favorite doesn't make it the best. And stop thumbing him up, fanboys. Sure, it's a good game, but no need to knock any of Square's other masterpieces.

  • @zackfair73195 How am I being a fanboy? Cause of my user name? I hope not. First off, to me 6-7-8 were the prime of Final Fantasy, 7 is over rated, I am sorry it is, if anything 6, and even 4 is underrated by far. You tell me if 7 fanboys are over hyping 7? or how about FF iX? Either way, 6-8 to me rule, and as a character i was speaking in my other comments Cloud is not the best. Carrying a giant sword with no sword skills and swinging it like a berserk doesnt mean he is invincible.

  • @squallthegriever I'm saying that because of your fucking big headed comment. I'm not denying that VII is overrated, because it definitely is. But it's still a great game (better than the shitty CoD franchise). IV is very very underrated, VI is hardly underrated (I honestly didn't like many of the characters except for Sabin, Edgar and Kefka) and the story is decent. But you shouldn't knock a game because it's overrated, just because something's overrated doesn't mean it sucks.

  • @zackfair73195 which one was so big headed? Either way my main complaint is that 7 is not better than 8, or 6 because of sales? No, if that is the case than Justin Bieber is better than Bruno Mars, .cause of sales. See? Or Cloud can beat every RPG character, which is bull, Squall, Terra, WoL, and Cecil and even Lighting shown powers that can overwhelm Cloud,That is my main point. I love all FF, but my ego goes high when i argue with ego headed people regardless, which comment specifiably u mean?

  • @squallthegriever It is bull, but even arguing the point doesn't help. Either hearing FFVII fanboys praise the game to no end, or hearing other FF fans rage at their jealousy (since FFVII is ultimately much more popular than their favorite), I'd rather hear neither.

  • @zackfair73195 Agreed.

  • @zackfair73195 Oh you mean Call of Duty? Yeah, also Halo. I think Golden Sun is very underrated, Golden Sun Chapter 1 Golden Seal and Golden Sun 1 Chapter 2 The Lost Age and even the not as good but still very good Golden Sun 2 Dark Dawn. Very underrated games that sell lowly due maybe to difficulty or depth in story.

  • @squallthegriever And yeah, I hate Halo and CoD can be okay with other people. I have yet to play Golden Sun, but I have it on my PSP. And depth of story is my favorite aspect in games. Too bad people fail to realize how great those games are.

  • @zackfair73195 Yes, that is why i prefer older games. real games, that involve nothing online, Yeah, Chrono trigger is still a bit underrated. I love Golden Sun, i can say as in story the GBA one Golden Sun 1 chapter one and chapter 2 were very much in story depth comparable to FF biggest titles. Very good and sad ending the Part 2, for the DS that just came out 8 years after the GBA one, 30 years after game wise.. very good modern RPG. Legend of Dragoon.. OMG

  • @squallthegriever I've never tried Legend of Dragoon. If I could emulate PSX on my PSP then I would. Maybe I'll just get it off of Amazon.

  • @zackfair73195

    amazing game dude amazing.

    What games do you play?

  • @squallthegriever I mostly play RPGs but I've been slacking lately. Love Final Fantasy and Crisis Core, somewhat of a Kingdom Hearts fan. I do play several other games though, like I love Mega Man and Super Mario Bros. I'm mostly a fan of the classics.

  • @zackfair73195 Same here, I am a huge KH fan, but a bigger FF fan since 90s and played FF 1 which was made in the NES in 87. Megaman SNES only for me, except Megaman X4. best one for me I love Zero. Classic Mario games specially Yoshis Island. Also R.E and Silent Hill, and Fire Emblem and MGS. Games no longer have replay value.

  • @squallthegriever Oh hell yeah! Resident Evil scares the shit out of me, but I love it. And I have Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones for my GBA. It's pretty fun, actually. I've never really tried MGS.

  • @zackfair73195 yeah i have FE7, with Eliwood Lyndis and hector (roys dad is Eliwood)

Really? I say u play the first one on the PSX actually the first MGS is in NES, MGX. Very good game man i recommend, very good plot.

  • @squallthegriever Really? Isn't Metal Gear Solid technically a stealth/shooter? Usually those have godawful plots.

  • @zackfair73195 well the original NES MGX and MGx2 are well. very simple

MGS1 and MGS2 and 3 were very epic.

specially 1. Now adays companies copy what Hideo Kojima did with MGS. But its actually pretty deep. It's has the Sons of Liberty (which exist) and does have an accurate relevance to reality, as the plot is themed and created using actual military and historian experts. Together with Kojima, its a real good story. I recommend,

  • Which proves theyre not always a bad idea...

  • This isn't a opening, is only a trailer of the game :s

  • i prefer the one they used more, but the sound in this one is great much richer and vivid, the endless use of aircraft sounds at the beginning was annoying though.

  • I like this one, but i liked the orginal. If they used this one Rinoas meeting with Squall wouldnt of been as good. Squall would of known who she was at the first place. And then there wouldnt be a big love story between them. But i like both anyway. Where did you find this. Ive been looking for this for ages

  • Definately like the swords colliding sound alot more.

  • seems lees like an opening and more like a trailer to me. It would be great to see this game remade or at least re-released on the PSP and Playstation network.

  • Sheesh, I don't even like PS3's and I'd buy one JUST for this game if it was re-made.

  • i hope there another of new version FINAL FANTASY VIII 8 on ps3 & XBOX. i hope this game is REBORN. the creator was so awesome, great and absolutely the BEST

  • Why? The time and labor spent remaking games could be better spent making new games. Just seems pointless to me.

  • FFVII and FFVIII as well as FFX are the most preffered of the series, FFVII being #1. After X-2 was released, final fantasy just isn't so popular anymore. They are still good games (Many say FFXII is ok) but they lack something the previous games had.

  • Think about it, we are taking a sotryline, characters, a game that everyone loves, improving the graphics (greatly), improving some dialogue, cutscenes, gameplay etc...

Millions of people still play the old FF's today, despite the bad graphics and outdated batte systems. I think (at this point in time) recreating the old games is a better option than making a new game with a storyline and a system that, chances are, won't work.

  • I've thought about it, and while remakes are nice sometimes, I'd much rather see something new or be mediocre than treading over the exact same ground again.

And what are the chances that it won't work? FFXIII seems to be shaping up pretty damned well, I gotta say. I'm psyched for it.

  • Besides, remaking the old Final Fantasies, the storyline, characters dialogue and pretty much the whole concept is already there. Put all that into a new engine and.... easy.

  • But is easy always good?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would get incredibly tired of remakes in a hurry.

If I wanna play the old games...I'll play them. I don't need them prettier, they're fine as they are.

I'll take fresh new stuff anyday over remakes of the old shit.

  • Well, I guess it all comes down to opinion. Some people like new games, some don't.

I just think that FFVII and VIII could be made a lot better seeing as we are 10-12 years ahead now. The original has too few cutscenes, and I think it would change the feel and emotional context throughout the game with better graphics and a better connection between characters. Seeing as the few already realistic scenes (like this scene) are already conveyed pretty well in VII & VIII, it would make sense.

  • this is just a bad job of synchronizing and video editing, its fake, this isnt a intro Square had in mind to use to begin with lol

  • I agree

  • this isnt an opening its a preview of the game notice how they show diffrent parts of the game

  • glade they stuck wit the original you cant even hear the song in some points.

  • Anybody else see Rinoa on the beach instead of Sephie?

And how the opening fight had a few more extra parts to it, like when Seifer gets out of the blade lock and more of Squall getting slashed?

    Epic...

  • i wonder what you're talking about...?

  • Yeah, the demo did replace Rinoa with Selphie.

  • im glad this was just the demo and not the actual opening. i personally cant stand when companies use their games CGs as their opening. totally ruins the surprise.

  • Yup, The final opening was truly the best way to go.

  • kia funny lol

  • For some reason, it felt like Rinoa was going to be hit by a train at the beginning XD

  • omg I felt that too xD

  • Glad they didnt use this Opening. Kinda blows a bit of the story.
