"fuzzbear", I went to Goodwill today and I hot a couple of 78's by Prince's Orchestra. This song I don't have it in my collection. These are all 12" 78 releases dates back to the early 1920's. I might playing it on my GE Wildcat from the 1970's but it is also recommended for playing on a Victor Victrola, my GE Wildcat does the job.
I'm sure I will, you can see my 78's that I posted os on my other channel "MagcialWorldofMusic" and look for a really old Victor 78 played on my GE Wildcat.
11dubbin11, (Sorry for the delay in responding.) I'm sorry you don't like the song, as state songs go-it's one of the very best I think. Thank you for watching.
I am a "missouri patriot" and I love this song. I wish that High School Football teams and our two major universities would have the band play a verse of this song before sporting event.
Harry S Truman the only Democrat in the 100 years that I respect !!!!

It is a great song--but, contrary to one of the characterizations of President Truman's opinion (that he liked it).I must say that it is mistaken.
He detested the song....
Poor Harry had it really stuck in its craw when Richard Nixon played it for him on one occasion

Km2711, That's interesting. I have always heard and read he loved it and played it often. I'll have to do some more research on the subject!

David McCollough, in his Pulitzer Prize-winning Truman emphasized that Truman detested the song.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
pfff Harry S Truman is a war criminal in my eyes for bombing those Japanese civilians, I am ashamed he is from Missouri.

That comment won't gain you any love on the States, but it will make you an OK guy anywhere else

Thanks for this, great post. As they said in Oxford "Give him hell, Harricum". ;)
There's a great story about how Churchill asked Franz List to play this for Truman at Potsdam...
