  • Good music from a time when music was good.

  • R.I.P. Jim Croce, Your songs are still relevant today.........A Fan!!!

  • "Faut pas faire de la peine à John" la version de Joe Dassin reprise en 1979 :-)

  • people, people,. please, it's not like he's been frogotten. they play this song 10 times a day on every oldies station in the world

  • @TheLeftylegend14

I can relate a bit i saw this on a tv add in 2012 hosted by two guys from "The Band" im the same age as you, maybe we saw the same add? lol its kinda funny. Anywase now i can add the songs i listened to in seattle when i was a kid. =)

  • good music sounds just as good live as on recording.

  • Jim Croce was a genius. The proof is that his work stands the test of time. I liked it 40 years ago, enjoy it today, and folks 40 years from now will also dig it. Great art doesn't fade.

  • MUSIC WITH BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im only 18 and recently came across Jim Croce by the song "Operator" it made me cry because there's this girl that I know I'll never have and then I listened to " You Don't Mess Around With Jim " and now I feel like getting into a bar room brawl. Good songwriters and musicians will never be forgotten because songs like these will never go out of style and will always make you feel something inside.

  • I wouldn't mess with him for all the time I could put in a bottle, ain't gonna tug on his cape either;or try to pull off his mask. May God keep him. True Great

  • How is he getting that percussive rhythm? Is he palm-muting?

  • @BhanuKer yes

  • @BhanuKer Yes! Also because of a slightly fused index finger

  • Thanks to the person who pointed out who the "dope' was next to Jim. Maury was a great musician and complimented Jims' songs so well. Perhaps Maury would have become a star in his own right had he not died so young with Jim. They were a great team.

  • Loved Jim Croce, his music never gets old. Sad that he and Maury died so young. They were quite a team. his death was "the day the music died" to me. i was a teenager when he rashed and was very sad for a long time. What a great talent and seemed like a genuinely nice and decent man. RIP Jim and Maury.

  • 3 People tugged on Superman's Cape.

  • @Danhnrtz23 They're messin' with Slim now.

  • @MrRobertDallasJames That "Dope" sitting next to Jim isnt quite a dope. His name is Maury Muehleisen , Croce was originally the lead guitarist for Muehleisen , But later the roles reversed. They met in 1970, and every song Jim sang, he backed up. They both died in the plane crash in 1973, this was indeed unfortunate. But they left behind quite a legacy, that to this day, and for the rest of eternity, will never die.

  • You are a genius, Jim.

  • im really young BUT I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Jim and Maury were such an amazing team! Rest In Peace, you guys.

  • Had not heard a song from him in years ... I still remember hearing of his death on the radio while I was driving ....

  • @tenthwall thats bad bad leroy brown

  • this song never gets old, i love it

  • @insane8ball It's like superman; it gets more powerful the older it gets

  • badder than old king kong and meaner than the junk yard dog.

  • Now this man is real. His friend to his right is real. This song is about someone real. So real in fact that Willie "Slim" McCoy sang back ground vocals on "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown". No shit! Upper Darby still misses the hell out of you guys.

  • Jim Croce rocks

  • Apparently Jim disliked this video

  • RIP. You were amazing.

  • jim croce kicks ass!

  • 38 yrs ago today sucked R.I.P

  • The man died way to young

  • Classic Croce. When i was a kid my brother would blast this in the house. Love it!

  • ONE no talent hack wannabe singer disliked this? What, was Justin Beiber here?

  • One person must have accidentally hit the dislike button, or there is one deranged individual!

  • i feel kinda bad cause jim croce died on my birthday

  • whoever erased my comment in a dbag

  • @carshizny so what does any of that crap have to do with his talent ,does it make you any better than him

  • Jim Croce was a legend all the way from then to now.

  • Jimmie Johnson is using this as his Bristol Intro Saturday Night!!!

  • USE IT JIMMIE JOHNSON.

  • one dude messed around with jim.

  • @mothman21 lmfao

  • You want sad? Read the FAA report on how he probably died? Pilot had a heart attack on takeoff ... Great singer, songwriter... wife has very cool rest. in San Diego.

  • @Roamingdoc Well in that case, I hope the end came quickly! The idea of falling for thousands of feet KNOWING you're going to die is something that doesn't bare thinking about..........

  • poorgirl my friend her cosin was jim she told me

  • JIm croce is an amazing singer!!! i cant stop listening to his music

  • Jim's mustache is EPIC!!!!!!

  • Sure 635 microphone...Classic

  • If music didn't work out for Jim he could've done porn with that awesome stache and fro

  • this is my favret

  • why is it called you dont mess urawnd with jim wen he ses slim mostly

  • @willowcanaday . He does not say slim until the last verse where Jim gets his butt whippped.

  • this song is catchy as fukk rip jim

  • Thankyou so very much for posting. Have loved Jim's music all my life.. after hearing it constantly from my Mom as a small child in the 70's. He was Her favorite singer as well. All these songs bring back amazing memories.. thanks..

  • Jim Croce Rocks!!!

  • slim jim is my xbox name :D

  • he is the BEST country singer EVER!!

  • @sakaker2000 well, in the early 70s this was definitely not considered Country. If it came out today, sure, but Jim was in that genre of roots influenced singer/songwriters blossoming during that time. BTW, only one of Jim's songs charted on the C/W charts - "I'll have to say I love you in a song."

  • One of the greatest !

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that Jim Croce appears to be one of the most underrated, forgotten singers from The 70's. That's disrespectful to me. What do y'all think?

  • @kja427 most definately his songwriting is some of the best around...and you can't forget his amazing accompanist...damn those small airplanes and pecan trees :-( :-(

  • @kja427

YES!!! If Jim Croce would not have died, he probably would have been a remembered as one of the finest...His music today shines with brilliance!

  • @kja427 underrated? forgotten? you know whats disrespectful? someone saying stupid stuff to get thumbs up. put them thumbs up your ass!

  • @kja427 there is only ONE Jim Croce that's for sure!

  • @kja427 Man I've heard all his songs but for some reason I didn't know that they were all his songs. Maybe that's the reason. I've yet to hear a song he's made that sucked. It's really disrespectful. The man is awesome. I only imagine what he could have done had he not died so early. Jim Croce is now in my top 5 singers.

  • @kja427 you got that right. This generation doesnt know what it missed from performers like Jim Croce.

  • @kja427 you are so right im only 13 but my parents listened to this stuff (beach boys, beatles, elton John, billy joel etc.) when i was young so jim croce is one of my top 3 favorite artists to have ever graced this earth

  • @kja427 Not in my house. When I was a kid, my aunt would put the speakers in the winders of the house and my whole family would drink beer out in the Southern heat and spin Croce records. My mama was crazy about Croce and I have all his stuff.

  • @kja427 I totally agree...Jim Croce had such originality and has yet to be matched.

  • @kja427 Absolutely. His songs are so underrated

  • @kja427 ---- I agree with you,he is sadly missed. People like Jim cared for their fans and wrote their songs for us as well as themselves. This country has gotten really covetous and selfish these past 40 years almost since he died. The music brings back so much to me. It's a portrait of my troubled teen years.

  • @kja427 Im kinda sick to my stomach knowing this only has 100,000 views an J Beiber has 100, 000,000 WTF!!!!

  • @kja427 Agree, and we all can do something about it!!! Share his music with others.

  • @kja427 He died before he could have been widely known. It is very sad. He plays some of the best music I have ever heard.

  • @kja427 I completely agree, extremely underrated. He was a great talent.

  • What a talent, imagine if he didn't die so young what he could have done for music!

  • @JORGEPSOUSA911 Yes, and Buddy Holly, and Donny Hathaway, and Lisa Lopez, and Richie Valens, and Janis Joplin, and Otis Redding, and Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix, and Bobby Fuller, and Johnny Ace, and, and, and......................!

  • Why are there no lyrics videos for this amazing guy?!

Not that i need them anyway. lol.

  • Great song
